This version of the 40 mm Hamilton Intra-Matic Auto Chrono with its blue dial is my favorite one. A very good reason to present you the watch together with Sylvain Dolle, the CEO of Hamilton. The watch is not new, so it is not a premiere. The Intra-Matic Auto Chrono is a modern reworking of a 1969 signature timepiece. Combining authentic 1960s appeal with the Hamilton H-31 automatic chronograph movement with 60 hours of power reserve, its distinctive panda dial and this wonderful blue colored dial are a guaranteed eye-catcher.

Absolutely spectacular looking chrono. Im not surpri sed - its a Hamilton. Hamiltons cases are also remarkable in the sophistication of component design and the level of finishing. There famous Khaki line is just a glimpse of the numerous artismal offering in the Jazzmaster series- where your jaw just drops. Add the new ETA movement and you just cant get better value.
Hamilton is currently my favorite watch brand with both classic and unique designs, solid and trusted movements, and quality finishing. Combine all that with its heritage and Hamilton stands alone at their price point. I currently own a khaki mechanical, the Interstellar pilot day date, and a khaki navy utc. This chronograph is fantastic and a bargain considering its high quality movement and the beauty of its design. However, I will be finishing my MD in one year and have had my heart set on a Speedmaster Professional to celebrate the accomplishment. Swatch group still gets my money in the end.
I have two Hamiltons, a great brand offering unique style with great value. This watch looks great with the blue dial!
Ken NY It’s the proof that you can build watches as good as the Hamilton’s are for small money. That’s one of the strengths of Swatch Group! Difficult only for the competitors... 😉

The blue reverse panda is a bit of a beaut.
I try to buy a new watch every year and since the market is getting hammered, many watches are impossible to get or are severely overpriced, I went with this watch. I only had 1 chrono(Breguet TypeXX Transatlantique blackface) and wanted a panda to compliment. I really like the watch, well made, looks great and has a solid movement. Only complaint is the strap which is boring and is not a deployment. Enjoy your channel.

@@WatchAdvisor I want to keep it black leather but I am thinking something with contrast stitching or something more sporty with center holes or cutouts. I’d like to have a deployment strap also, not a fan of tang.
The pronounced chronograph pushers give this watch a lot of character and appeal. Very nice!

I have the blue reverse panda on the tan strap as in the video. Absolutely love it - one of my favourite watches. Looks great and keeps very good time at +2 or 3 secs a day
Tremendous bang for the buck. Had to have this. Got the blue when they first came out. Simply fantastic. One critique is no quick set date, but at least you have the pusher.
Setting the date at "10 o'clock" with a pusher is due to the fact that you have a counter at "3 o'clock". It is not really convenient but therefore this chronograph looks really cool. I personally hate these chronos with counters at "12, 9, 6 o'clock"

I reckon of they do a limited release of 1969 pieces of their Chronograph model from 1969 - it will be a massive hit. I absolutely loved the entire blue dial of it, specially the small size!

Nice watch and nice colour, but the free-floating sub-dials look too crowded pushed up against the indexes in my opinion.
I bought the panda version for myself this Christmas and it's fantastic. My only nitpick is that they should have either used a black background for the date like the original piece, or made it the same cream color as the dial so it blends in more.

I own the regular panda dial, it's a beautiful piece, maybe a bit on the thick side if you have small wrists. I have a 7" /18cm wrist and I can just barely pull it off without it looking too awkward.
You mean the limited version? I own that one too and yes it is a little thick... With the new chronograph movement that will be ready next year Hamilton will be able to manufacture thinner ones.
@@WatchAdvisor Ah no, just the regular black and white H38416711. A thinner case is definitely a good thing, though mine still looks fine on my wrist :p. I swapped in the strap from my Khaki King and I think it's a pretty good match.
Justt bought mine.... drinking in all the cool comments! Not knowing much about chronos, I bought the Heuer Rindt in 2017 (didn’t know much about either)... now, I’m going with my gut feeling for the Hammy Blue! Following a blue trend... bought a JLC Tribute Duo Blue SIHH.

The only thing that stopped me from purchasing this piece is the case back.. I would love an open case back selection or alternative.
An open case back is expensive and does not only offer advantages. The incoming UV-light does expedite the aging of the oils used to lubricate the movement parts. This is by the way the reason why Rolex does not offer a see-through case-back...

Btw, howabout we look at the new Black PVD 38mm KFM and also other standard KFMs. There hasn't been any review of the 38mm Black PVD KFM.

In the flesh, the 40mm versions (panda and blue one) are IMHO suffering from a slightly unfortunate diameter-to-height ratio; i.e., they look a bit chubby.

Viewed one of these watches with the white dial today in my local dealer after seeing this video. Whilst trying out the chronograph I noticed it didn't reset back to zero. The salesperson took the watch away for more advise, when they returned they said that they could get me another one in if I was interested. It's a nice looking watch & also felt reasonable quality, but not very good having a faulty watch on show. Think I will pass at the moment.
How come it did not reset to zero? Did you stop the chronograph before resetting? This is not a Fly-Back mechanism... In case it did not reset after stopping it with the push-piece at "2 o'clock" someone must have with a lot of force damaged the watch. This is really NOT easy. Keep me updated please! Anyhow I can guarantee you this has NOTHING to do with the quality of Hamilton. This was caused by someone who did not know how to handle a chronograph ...
It was operated correctly start, stop then reset. But the second hand only went back to 1 or 2 seconds. When the salesperson returned with the watch after consulting a colleague wherever you stopped the chronograph the second hand would only jump back about 5 seconds. You could be right with someone being heavy handed with it but it was definitely operated correctly whilst I was there. There's definitely a fault with that watch as they have removed it from display.
Probably someone pressed reset without stopping the chronograph first... if you always press stop and then reset... it should have worked fine everytime

I encountered same problem at 2 authorised dealers where I got hold of 2 different units with same problem. There is a slight misalignment on the 30 mins subdial where it did not return to zero. It was a deal breaker.

The white dial version is a panda, not reverse panda. A reverse panda has a black dial and white subdials. Seems like the CEO of the company would know this...
