Yea that milwaukee rep was coked up lol.
Glad I didn’t buy a gen 1 yesterday. Make the ridgid last a few more months.
My old gen 1 is still sort of running strong, the housing keeps coming loose from the table but she cuts. Just got the Gen 2 on HD special buy for $189 with an 8.0 battery I couldn’t pass it up.
I’m calling BS. The rigid octane had depth of cut detents. They’re terrible always get gunked up and become miserable to get just above or just below the detent.
WoW , No dust shoot so you can point the dust away from you , Rob was covered in saw dust ... 😆🤣😆
I call that "Man Glitter!" ;)
Just picked it up at home Depot Free 8 AMP Red LET BROUGHT Battery back now only $130 nice now will run it with 6.8 and the 12 Amp FORGE BATTERIES
I have the gen 1 for about 3 years now. Been repaired twice. The thing I don’t like and can’t seem to adjust is that the blade isn’t square to the base, so you can’t use a guide to get a straight cut. I end up use my XGT rear handle more often since I picked it up last year
Same here, I've tried finding some way to adjust it but can't find anything on it. When I run it with a guide on the left side of the shoe, it wants to cut towards the guide putting it in a bind and eventually stopping the saw.
The depth slide adjustment in The back got bent. I had it happen a few times, it can happen on any saw. Can be bent again to cut straight. All it takes is one drop from a sawhorse height, and landing just right. It is amazing how hard it straightens, but seems to get out of shape so easily. Measure at the front and back of blade, use hammer ears straddling the slide and torque till it is 👌
@@renurenovationsllc7780Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that
Anybody know if they are upgrading the 7 1/4 soon? If they got the saw to bevel past 50 degrees and had better line of sight on the right side of the blade it would be a huge improvement. 50 degrees on a circular saw just doesn’t cut it when every other saw on the market does 55-57. It doesn’t sound like a huge jump but it makes all the difference. Not to hate on Milwaukee, I use there tools but the circular saws are not at all impressive to me, and even this one doesn’t seem like a huge upgrade.
Id love to buy this. I had the old original m18 brushed, the 2013 6 1/2 brushless, and 2019 7 1/4" brushless, all amazing saws.
Must not have hit the stores yet cause i cant find it searching that model number.
It’s $122 at Home Depot right now. Just return the “free” 8.0 battery.
If you need a detent to set your depth on a 2 1/4 max depth saw, they're revolutionary. Up till now they've not been a thing because they're not necessary?
I tought gen 1 was pretty good. Gen 2 has some really cool improvements. I'm in dewalt, but hope their next generation saw will learn from this one.
Am betting on Milwaukee any day am willing to get that saw
When is it going to be for sell ?
What happened to the dust extraction port?
i dont know but if i want dust extraction i will definitely grab track saw, circular saws are famous for being dirty😑
I have the makita 6 1/2 40v which runs at 5200 rpm. They had a free 8.0 battery with it at home depot so i though hey free saw!
I purchases soley because it runs at 6000 rpms.
The only saw superior to this is the makita xgt 7 1/4 at 6400.
The new milwaukee 7 1/4 will be 6300…. Very interesting
Need a new saw and this definitely will be meeting all my expectations.
Thanks Rob! That’s awesome news. I will definitely be purchasing that as soon as it’s available! Thanks again for the video! 👍
Thanks ROB.! Love your reviews. I want to know what an actual contractor/professional thinks about Whatever I'm considering buying, which would happen to be this saw, being that I'm in the platform already.😎🤓🤠
thanks Scott
Would love to see the greatest battle between makita xgt hs012 and this saw
Yeah me too. They say it's the most powerful but I am not so sure :D
@riba2233 it's easy to make the most powerful 165mm saw - you just make it bigger than everyone elses. There's a good chance this saw is 10-20% larger and 20-40% heavier than the XGT.
I have the gen 1 and it's basically their 184mm saw with a smaller guard. When you hold both you can barely tell the difference in weight. Way too heavy for a 165mm saw and this looks simiarly as large.
@@toolscientist true, good point!
Coming
Probably @@toolscientist
Need this little saw i have the 2013 but lack power a tad .
A tad????
i thought a tad was a english word@@ConcordCarpenter
@@OUTILSCLIPSQClol I think what he meant was “only a tad?” Saying it’s more than just a tad underpowered.
They dropped the ball in one area they need to make a blade right version for us lefties! I've been waiting for one for years!
go opposite direction
@kc0lif I do and can but it just isn't as fluent and comfortable. I have the 7 1/4 fuel blade right and love it but would like a smaller saw for smaller projects!
Makita makes one right bladed saw 6 1/1 on xgt but for only japanise market, idk why its not common for the rest world
@ruddy95110 I don't have makita batteries but that should be a commone honestly
@@KeremJ995 they also have the same one on the 18v platform, available in the US.
No dust collection ?
This appears to be focused as a compact framing saw. Perhaps in that application it isn't used so they removed it to save weight.
If dust management is important to you, maybe the track saw is a better option?
Not needed on a circ saw
I guess right handed people just have to wear a good set of safety glasses and a dust mask every time they use it, think I'll stick with the old one 😂
Dang that guy got me tired just watching him move around he was either full of red bull's or something else
😎⚒️😎⚒️😎
Too bad you did not put the model number on here ?
I will get it - they dont have it yet

@@ConcordCarpenter thanks people keep asking me if I’m a milwaukee rep . Ha I just have a huge amount of milwaukee tools . Thanks for your time .
I wasn’t a fan of the first one. But maybe because it was outdated.
Does the trigger still have the sharp edges and stuff pull off the old one?
I love my Makita, but I want the power of 2170s
no
Hope they redesigned the switch, I have the gen 1 and have had the switch replaced 4 times and it's not even used heavily.
they did!!
It wont matter cause dewalt will push a 60v thats gonna embarriss this
It's time for yall to get off this decade ass old plateform.
Then when dewalt pushes lithium stacks in the 60v batteries milwaukee is done.
@@thomasgilliam3104keep coping DeShit is always inferior to the Red Army
How does this compare in feel to the Makita XGT GSH05? He said its more powerful and faster than anything, but id love to see a head to head.
Also, both the LXT and XGT 6 1/2" saws have a 1 5/8" (1.625) cut depth at 45°, this way the teeth shine through and the gullet can clear the sawdust more effectively.
I know its less than an 1/8 of an inch difference, but get a dirty 2x4 or ride over a staple from a tagged barcode and you wont cut through.
Maybe you will soon!
Will it go on the rail? Looking for a smaller saw than my Mafell
No
Why is he saying they added a rafter hook when gen 1 had that already?
Belt hook
Why is it not 7 1/4?
Because there's no issues with the larger ones.
What’s the model number of this new saw?
none yet
Thx
you bet pal!
@@rodmitchell8787
ROCK ON🤠
Thx
No Vaclink compatibility or dust extraction?
It’s not necessary to have dust extraction on every saw this saw was designed for the job site. Anybody that does do that type of work that requires dust extraction I would hope owns a track. 25 years as a carpenter I’ve never had a hook dust extraction up to my 6 1/2 inch circular saw, I’ve always had other options for that.
@@steffendetrick things are a little different over here in the UK and Milwaukee launches European versions of their tools. Have a look at the M18CCS55. It’s the European version of your 6.5 inch saw and you will see a dust extraction port which your Stateside version doesn’t have. It’s an essential feature over this side of the pond for this type of tool.
in a circ saw? Its not a track saw
Agreed @@steffendetrick
@@ConcordCarpenter quite common over the pond. The Milwaukee CCS55 or the Makita XGT HS012G are two examples with the Makita having the Bluetooth AWS system built in.
Milwaukee dude struggling with puberty at the show. I know it's out of fashion these days, but wish they'd hire experienced tradesmen for their store reps and shows to do the demos.
I think overall their salespeople are pretty knowledgeable and professional in all the YT videos I've seen with them at this show. I certainly look to the pros reviews and opinions on YT, but Milwaukee's reps are solid.
maybe Milwaukie can make a better microphone for their reps
Dude - its incredibly loud in there
I'd guess it's really loud out there with all the tool demos going on.
I guess I've been out of the trades to long, but how does someone justify $400 for a 6.5" saw?
The same way they justify paying $100k for a new pickup truck.
I could swear he said $229
I don't know where you got $400 from? He said $229
Inflation has really wrecked everything. No coming back from these prices now.
