- This is a 3 part NZ road trip vlog where we made our way from Auckland all the way down to Wellington at the bottom of the North Island of New Zealand.
In this vlog we first stopped by in Taupo to pay a surprise visit to two of our amazing supporters who are a lovely couple that own a great little bakery in Taupo.

We then continued our journey down the North Island to get to our accommodation for the night which was in Napier, Hawke's Bay. Rustic, spacious, clean and comfy. We loved the fireplace which kept us all toasty through the night.

The next morning we stopped by the world's longest single-word place name in the district of Porangahau. It clocks in at a whopping 85 characters long!

Our final stop in this vlog was Castle Point Lighthouse. Stunning and gorgeous views especially towards sunset. Well worth a visit if you're in Masterton and near the area already.

For someone stuck at home, your videos showcase our country like no others. Most are from tourists doing the well known circuits. Yours, however show the out of the way places many kiwis, myself included, do not always get to see. For that reason they are a treasure. Castle Point has such a laid-back vibe with the coast views - great music to go with that vibe too. Great sunset spot and definitely looks like it is getting colder, guys!

@@PeterandYen Yes she did 🙌🏼🙌🏼Tried different pastry items but nothing comes close to NZ pies 🥧 The amount of fillings we put in is really good too! I was surprised when you said they put big pieces of steak in your pie, overseas they wouldn’t do that it’s too expensive to put in a pastry 😅

Hmmmmm best pie in Auckland is so hard to answer there's quite a few bakeries here that i would really rate highly. Dairy flats, blue rose and clevdon bakery all make amazing pastries. Much better than pak n save or countdown pies 😉

I think all the driving lately yen's worked out a bit of a system to avoid being car sick. Food and waking up very early to settle the body in. It's been working fairly well so far. Would you believe this was the one and only take of the 85 character place name? I was impressed hahaha 😁🤙

I memorised it the day before 😁 It was tricky at first but with practice I got faster and since then I can super speed say it though I like it at a natural pace coz then you can hear the Te Reo Maori and pronunciation better 🙂 Hehe yea the milkshake cups here are usually very kiwi.. too cute!

I've just learned NZ is reviewing its immigration laws but no real details have been anounced yet, so I'm a bit nervous at the moment.
But I'll always be able to come and visit as a tourist!
Also: either Peter in shorts and jandals and Jen shivering in trousers and a sweater. I think your comfort temperatures are waaay apart. Setting the thermostat in your house/car must be a challenge ;)
Hahahaha at home we have to have our own blankets yen's got this super thick blanket and electric underlay and I have a super thin blanket that condenses to about 2cm thick 😂
O that'll be awesome if you're able to visit New Zealand! We are gradually opening up lil by little. So far just Cook islands and Australia have quarantine free travel. There was talk about adding Singapore but that's most likely off the cards now.

Peter is In just tee and shorts outdoors during noon at Cafe but later at night like you said it eas freezing cold so had to burn wood blocks in fireplace. Video is published today but I guess it must be shot 2 weeks ago. What kind of weather exactly was there at Taupo and Napier?🤔 It's Autumn in NZ right? Is an autumn evening and night cold enough to require fireplace inside to keep warmth inside?
Hello 👋 yes this was filmed around 2 weeks ago. New Zealand weather is kinda sporadic. That night it was 2 degrees but lately it's been much warmer. During winter and late autumn it can be freezing one day and just cold the next and lots of rain in between 😅

Arggh, you ruined it with the sauce! If you ever make it to Houhora on the way to Cape Reinga, you must try the paua pie there (or maybe you already have). They're delicious.
We were in Houhora last year didn't know about the paua pies then, next time will definitely try that. Promise not to sauce it for the first couple of bites either 😂

Hahaha good question, well I do spend a fair bit of time finding a decent balance between reasonable price, location and anemities. But i think in general kiwi airbnbs are really high quality 🤔👌
We've stayed in some amazing airbnb's in NZ. Never used them overseas though, so can't compare.
