Great review. I bought Myst VR from GOG Galaxy and i am looking at buying a vive cosmos for my first experience of VR. Has anyone played VR games from GOG Galaxy with the vive cosmos?
thanks so much for this review, all the other reviews are saying its all awful, im upgrading from a lenovo explorer (only has 2 cameras) and i can get the vive cosmos for £100, my only other alternative is a rift s at £30 more, but i dont want a facebook account. this looks about the same tracking quality as the 2 camera wmr, and i never had a major problem with that so im very excited for my cosmos to arrive!
It used to be worse than WMR, but with updates is a bit better. I'd say the tracking will have different issues, but not MORE issues. You'll probably be fine with this headset if you have adequate lighting

hey, so i've been doing some research before i buy the cosmos people say the tracking is absolutely horrible ( even for the price ). i've been reconsidering after seeing this video and your opinions but as the final decision do you think it's worth it at 90 bucks used? thanks
At 90 bucks? if it's the full kit, definitely. Just make sure you can set up a good room for this headset. You always have the base station upgrade path in the future.
I've been searching on google for maybe 5 mins and along the way I found something saying that white lights can mess up tracking. It was saying that you should try warmer lights (more yellowish of a color.) Besides that part, I've found a cosmos for almost 150 bucks with everythign included on ebay. I currently have a quest 2 but the software for pcvr sucks so bad and I'm thinking of getting a cosmos. Do you think I should? I saw that other comment on here saying that you should, but I've seen how decent tracking can be (to a point since I scratched one of the lenses, specifically right where I put my controller to aim. which is stupid annoying on shooting games.) I mean I haven't seen top of the line vr and I know for sure that this is not a very high end headset, but I just wanted to have primarily steam software so I dont have to deal with oculus. But yeah, is it worth it compared to a quest 2?
I find the Quest 2 struggles to get a good, consistent connection without microstutters when it comes to PCVR. You also have to deal with the Oculus software which makes using steamvr with it very laggy. This could be my own PC's fault, but generally I recommend purpose-built PCVR headsets for SteamVR, and this headset uses it natively.

This is the best review I’ve ever seen for the htc vive cosmos it so positive but other ones are dog shit but thank you so much for this.
The tracking is abysmal, but that's the only huge issue I have with it. Every single part is user-serviceable too

I haven't. I recommend putting a post in the vive subreddit to ask if it has official bindings

Sorry I paused the video a couple mins in adn didn't see that you alreadyt mentioned the light problem

is 200 usd good for this headset to play gorilla tag??
I think a used Rift S would be better since the tracking on the Cosmos isn't good for fast movements
I do not recommend gorilla tag on this headset at all
