- Galaxy DX 55V is a nice AM/FM Mobile CB Radio, Basic features and a good receiver. The radio has already been "upgraded" at sometime in its life, however the radio could use a check up and some TLC. The original meter light was replaced with a 3mm white LED. I didn't like the look so I decided to replace it with a green LED only to discover some PC board damage from the OEM bulb. I got that problem taken care of and for a non OEM type replacement I think it turned out fine. Darrin likes his 55 and he sounds very good on the air. He is using a Turner +3 desk mic.

Hay Mike , fisher technologies in Indiana had a good mod for the TR 32 modulation limiter! That is to change the bias of TR 32 by changing the resistor values of the voltage divider on the base of TR32 , it lets it run a little bit louder before clipping the audio. I've never seen a radio like that with a single final do 18 average. It's pretty amazing
It’s pretty easy and clean with good mods and a bigger final. My Galaxy 66 has a 25 watt average from a high 10 watt carrier.

55v has some loud audio no doubt when you tune them

that sound pretty good for galaxy on fm you should try 26.805 on skip.
i had a 9-something import version back around 2002, year the skip was really crazy.. thing was a Skip talking mofo. bunch of us used to hang out on 27.535 and 27.605. shoot the sh!t all day n nite. i remember this cat named Wagonburner, real cut up, had dozens of funny sound fx on his rig. good times ☮
Somebody needs comeout with UDX decals with golden screwdriver logo that will get cars repair guys into cb radio hobby.

there person selling sears roadtalker 40 SSB for 55$ i saw it fb marketplace the other day in my area i show my youtube channel my quad 5 walk talkie and where get cb radio stuff at love's gas station maybe he change his mind get cb radio in my area these like new generation maybe he dropped the price on roadtalker it hads ac plug with it you got try different ways get people into cb radio hobby.
