Dave is trying to trick us. I happen to know that this was recorded at once and that Dave secretly has a twin. How do you think he can play all those instruments? Talent? Ha! No there's 2 of them! Maybe more!
Hey Mr. Pollack, I hate to break it to you...but you are a TENOR player! Certainly no disrespect to your alto playing, which is lovely, your sound on tenor is SO special...warms my heart!
Piano Dave was literally me during jazz combo class last semester when the piano player didn’t know shit about jazz but still managed to get into the class, hahaha ironic
Great solo❤❤ very nice sound!I transcribed it!I have a question, at 3.56’ on the chords in Cmaj, you are playing out, what are you thinking of?I cannot understand which scale, phrasing does that noted come from!thanks!
Lmao great skit!! Sounded amazing! Plus I have a question. I’m an alto player and I double on bassoon and I’m thinking about getting a tenor. I have enough to get a used student model at a shop near me or should wait it out and save up for a pro level horn like a Yamaha 62
Hmm...really depends on what you want to do with it. A student model tenor setup correctly with a solid mouthpiece/reed/lig will aound just fine. If you’re looking for somwthing long-term that you might gig/record on, maybe wait for the 62. You can do a lot with a student model horn though!!
Horn is a Conn 10m, mouthpiece is a 10mfan Classic (generation 2) in Ultem material, size 7**, D'Addario Select Jazz 3M filed reeds, standard Rovner ligature
@@patrickdacquel656 I'm not making a joke - I don't actually know what rolled tone holes are. I don't know a lot about gear - I just play what I have and that's it, hah. Let me know what to look for and I'll let you know if it is or not
The ending almost killed me LMAO I was driving my car when I saw this and almost crashed
Eyes on the road!!
You are such an amazing player
Thank you!

Shhhhhh don't ruin the secret!!
Man, how much effort are you putting into this December thing? It’s incredible!
A LOT, hahah. Thanks so much!
Dave Pollack by the way, the dude with the awesome sweater is covering The Chosen One’s motto in this video, I hope that was an unwanted mistake
He’s not invited on my channel ever again
Man the pianist really had to vibe him like that
Listen these saxophonists need to be put in their place
Dave Pollack yes I agree, saxophonists always snooping on others
Nice video, clearly sweater envy...poor guy, lol.
Hahaha, yup!
That pianist has really good tone haha
Lovely tone! Scary sweater though. Happy Christmas Dave!
Same to you!
Big LOLs at the end! Yeah, I could hear what you were trying to do there...

Wow- thanks so much! I still don’t consider myself a tenor player at all, but I found a setup that is working dor me!
Dave playing with himself, LOL! Seriously, very tasty playing, Merry Christmas!
I might have to change my vote for the best CTOTD, this is really funny and sounds super awesome. Great job on this series!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
I love you senpai ❤️
Almost "This I Dig of You"
Yeah same cool intro
1:42 is a quote from the Pennies from Heaven melody
Yup!
Piano Dave was literally me during jazz combo class last semester when the piano player didn’t know shit about jazz but still managed to get into the class, hahaha ironic
Hahahahaaaaa
that tone amazing
If you come to Portland I have a bunch of high school friends that would love to watch!
Awesome!! Well hopefully I'll get out there sooner rather than later to play
Dave Pollack heh what about Portland but it’s Maine.
Cameron Anderson more like Nashville TN music city
Man you make that Conn sing. Someday...
Thank you!
Dave Pollack what conn is that? Underslung neck? Later model 10M?
Hi Dave, love your voice. The Conn really sings. Are you using a Custom Neck. What Model Neck is it? Thanks!
Great solo❤❤ very nice sound!I transcribed it!I have a question, at 3.56’ on the chords in Cmaj, you are playing out, what are you thinking of?I cannot understand which scale, phrasing does that noted come from!thanks!
Dang I really wanted to scroll through the early comments while listening but there ain’t none
I sure love your playing, young man:) Keep it up.
Thanks, and will do!
I love this so much!!!
Wow this is really cool.
Glad you dig it!
Industrial Light & Magic aside, this is still my fave so far. Loved your playing!!! A 10M is next on my radar, what mpc are you using?
10mfan Classic in Ultem material, size 7**

Reminds me of Mintzer
That’s a big compliment!
Mr. Pollack you should join a full band!
What?
Alex Yedidia pretty sure he’s in several bands
Great sound! What is the setup you used on this?
Horn is a Conn 10m, mouthpiece is a 10mfan Classic (generation 2) in Ultem material, size 7**, D'Addario Select Jazz 3M filed reeds, standard Rovner ligature
What kind of conn is that? Later model 10M?
I know it’s a 10M but have no idea on the year
Dave Pollack rolled tone holes?
...I don’t even know what that is!
Dave Pollack hahaha
@@patrickdacquel656 I'm not making a joke - I don't actually know what rolled tone holes are. I don't know a lot about gear - I just play what I have and that's it, hah. Let me know what to look for and I'll let you know if it is or not
Oh yeah I was right on guessing the special guest
Nailed it!
Whats your sax neck
The horn is a Conn 10m...I think it's the stock neck from that
Stock 10m neck
That saxophonist is good but no where near as good looking as the piano player
I agree
always be rude to your sax player ALWAYS!!
