If your songbirds are thriving (five healthy babies!) it's a good indicator your ecosystem is healthy. Robin parents expend immense energy feeding their broods and those lil cheepers eat a LOT! 😊
I would love and hate this cos part of me would not be able to help wanting to feed them. I would Probaly place our food near the nest but not so close that it woudl make the mother unhappy. But close enough she doesn’t have to expend as much energy collecting food
I don't know if all songbirds do this, but most songbirds that I'm aware of will lay as many eggs as they feel comfortable supporting in an environment, I think for Robin's five or six is the maximum
There was one year when a robin built a nest on our front door wreath. We got to watch the babies grow and even learn to fly. It was magical and I'll never forget it.
I have a nest on top of my front porch light! Last I checked, three or four days ago, there were two eggs. I'm sure there's at least one or two more now. But I'm trying not to disturb Mama too much, because she already flies away any time we open the door. I'm thinking about getting some birdseed to put on the porch rail for her. ❤️
I love it too. Sweet that she felt safe enough despite Dagger and now the kittens, well looking forward to the future content of them growing up. Spring time is the best.
imagine being birthed into the world and your entire adolescent life is spent with your mouth open to the sky screaming for food, in hopes that your mother and father dont die on the way to bring it back to you..
Idk if you’ve already made a video about it or if it’s personal, but could you tell us about the names on your barn beam? My Grandpa has a farm and details like that are special to me. I loved finding things that had memories or history attached to them when visiting.
Barn swallows set up shop on my front porch pretty often. Its so cool watching them swoop around you, especially right in front of you. They are so dang nimble, the circles they can turn are so incredibley small.
We cleaned out our patio and were about to have the cover repainted. We were about to toss out an abandoned nest from last year when we found 2 eggs and 2 cheeping baby birds. The nest was gently replaced and we got great video of mom and dad sparrow feeding the youngin’s. I hope the other 2 eggs hatch. 🥚🥚🥚🥚
Back where I used to live there was an uncovered spot near my balcony. Every year we had parents return to that area and build a nest. It was nice seeing them grow up.
When I was a kid, we had a deck off our upper story. There was always a nest or two on the beams underneath. I loved peering through the cracks in the boards to look for eggs and baby birds! And at my current home, we've had robins a couple of times in a nest tucked in a corner near my front door
They are so cute. 5 is a lot . Surprised she didn't kick one out. I have a Robin couple that builds a nest at the corner of my house on top of the down spout just under the roof.. My husband use to relocate the nest while the parents watched so they'd know where it was, mainly because it's onlu a few feet from the side door we use. One yr they kept rebuilding until he gave up and left them alone. They love it there but, everytime I go in or out of the door the parents squawk at me until I'm out of sight. If only one is there the other gives out an emergency call and the other comes. Good parents! I love seeing the little yellow beaks sticking up over the nest.
I worked and lived in a private wildlife holiday park in Devon. Lived in a caravan. It's amazing the animals and critters that come to your doorstep. We had plenty of hawks as the grounds were filled with a rabbit infestation, along with the albino ferrets/stoats. Greater spotted woodpeckers and the bigger green woodpeckers my favourite visitors. Park would shut for winter. Then the animals really came out. Even Deer would pass through. I miss it. Love your vids. I lost my leg so couldn't continue and now homeless.
Well they're there now so there's no moving them now until fledged. But what a wonderful surprise. Well worth trying to be quieter for them to feel safe. It's not for very long anyway & it's oretty high up. They'll be fine.
Awwww SWEET BABIES!!! 💖💖💖 I had a bird house with babies once but unfortunately some animal ended up knocking the house over. I remember the parents kinda hanging around still. Made me so sad! Hope the best for this mama and her babies 💖

I see robins and other birds in my yard all the time, I guess that's a good sign?
Ya it is the birds are thriving because they are lots of insects
Birb
“Feeeeed meeee!” 😂😂😂 Some day, they’ll learn some more words.
I would love and hate this cos part of me would not be able to help wanting to feed them.

City birds aren't as scared of humans, as they are scared of bigger birds and cats.
They're actually chanting 'Hail, Lord Minion!'
Why do I want a heavy metal video with baby birds now? 😂 HAIL LORD MINION like they're all in the crowd at a metal concert yelling his name
Haha!
You know with the fact lord minion keeps barking at predatory birds, He could be seen as their protector.
😂😂😂😂
The American Robin has lay beautiful blue/green eggs.
Nate’s gonna have a whole zoo in about 2 years 😂
That's a bunch of 'em, too! I usually only see three or four babies in a nest.

I’ve got 4 in my wreath right now! I’m going to miss checking in on them when they’re gone 🥺

they grow to the size of their moms within two weeks. i love birds! cherish them while they’re there because it doesn’t last long ❤
What a sweet Mother's Day treat!!
imagine being birthed into the world and your entire adolescent life is spent with your mouth open to the sky screaming for food, in hopes that your mother and father dont die on the way to bring it back to you..
And hoping nothing kills you in return cause all you do is attract noise and attention lol
And hoping you actually get fed lmao
I mean, can’t you imagine? You’re basically describing a human baby, except stretch those few weeks into years.
Yes, as it is with most living creatures. 😊
Helpless little ones ☺️ so freaking cute. Thank you for appreciating and protecting them 💚
But
And
@@hankscorpio3294I like your Simpsons reference but I don't understand your reply lol

Yes! I was looking for this comment, no one's talking about it. I need to know who these people are or were.
Second this. I love the personal history of things like that. Like a lil time machine.
Yes that’s a good idea I was wondering about the names
I think it's probably Patreon/UA-cam supporters.
iirc that’s people that helped him build his homestead i wasn’t following at that point but i think i remember something like that
So cute 🥰 we had a nest on our porch three years in a row and they moved to the light buy our garage door. Now I watch them from my kitchen window 😊
Oh how precious...5 baby Robins ...how special..❤
I love when they’re able to start holding their heads up! They’re like bobble heads haha ❤
Too cute! We have a wren that made a nest on our front porch right by the light so she can reach out and grab bugs and she has five babies as well 🥰

They're saying, "THAT'S GOOD". ❤❤❤❤❤
