Advocates unite for menthol funeral

American Heart Association advocates and partner organizations marched through Black Lives Matter Plaza to the White House to remember the 45,000 Black lives lost to tobacco-related illnesses annually in the U.S. due to predatory marketing from Big Tobacco. Leading the menthol funeral were representatives from the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council, NAACP and The Center for Black Health and Equity, among others. Our message is clear: Ban menthols. Save Black lives.
