Grind the Apache first
A couple things that make this stand out
1 it's a very good platform and because it's 10 br if it gets up tiered alot it's a cheap spawn at 481 points and if it's downtiered it's well worth the increase costs cuz it packs a punch
2 better cannon than apache for engaging air
3 better missiles for air to air
4 better looking

Speaking of radars at the beginning of the video, you know what else can detect ground vehicles with its radar? The Khrizantema-S which is a fantastic vehicle you should do a vid on.
Most air to ground radar is dogshit btw
I think you'll appreciate the ah-64d's radar a lot more if they add the agm-114L which is where the ah-64d gets the name longbow which is a fire and forget radar guided hellfire with the same stats as the laser guided ones.
I was looking at it earlier today, the 10.3 AH-64A gets the Aim-9Ls too as an option, and I think they have the option to carry the Hellfire Ks. I think the only difference between the K and the B Hellfires is the maximum and launch range, as well as missile speed

11:00 The reason why you missed that Leopard is because you didn't lock-on, it's not because they're bad. If you're interested in knowing how it works, Zetaris made a video on it called "Hellfire Redux"; he discusses it at about 1:37 in his video. They didn't work quite the same back then, they were better, but the information in that video is still valid

@@F-18Super The American Bullpup is just as deadly as the NORD, however I will agree that the G91 spam from Germany is just...insane.

@@martinfabian1286 It’s definitely not. I have an Apache, and I can confirm hellfires are not smokeless.
The problem here is Gaijin equipped the Peten, AH-64A, and AH-1Z with AGM-114Bs instead of 114Cs (the first to get a smokeless Thiokol motor) or later variants. Bs and Cs stopped production in 1992, so while I guess it’s plausible to see them on the AH-64A, there’s no reason not to just give us the C variant. Same performance, just smokeless. In particular, the 114B shouldn’t be on the AH-1Z at as it (the heli) entered service in 2013. (The Hellfire IIs on the AH-64D should also have a flatter trajectory than the ones currently on the 64A and 1Z but I haven’t ground that far down yet to check).
i get the Zulu about 2 days ago. take the mood and energy at the best to finishing the mean and painfully grinding process. This video definitely encourage me to get this beast. Nice vid justin. thank you so much for the review. for me personally i like the zulu. the zulu design is combining beauty and beast perfectly. and kinda proud by my self that i using non premium heli. its kinda look badass lol

Go for it buddy. The AH64 Peten is really good but just remember to practice using it’s weapons first and knowing where to camp so you don’t become food for enemy SPAA.

I personally like the TOW and Vikker missile so much more than hellfire. The top attack profile just takes longer
if you're into helis you should give a look at the Italian A129s, they get hellfires and thermals at 9.7, while only having to face Rolands, Stormers, and Type93s, so not what you see the most played at that BR
as for playing helis myself, I sure would like to play the ah1z because it gives me bf3 vibes, but you know, the soul-destroying grind to get there is a bit too much and the gameplay gets very tedious very fast, it's one of the vehicles where I just don't bother because I know ill spend much more time grinding than actually playing the damn vehicle

I have all Russian Helicopters “literally” and the Czech Hind but since I’ve completed it I’m wait for PRC Helicopters and after I complete them especially Z-10W and after that I’ll go for Viper and I enjoy my Mi-35M I think it aged pretty well plus you get to carry 8 IGLA’s,Gen 2 thermal,your a Hind so Very good armor and you can carry 8 ataka’s overall I think it’s still pretty good
Got the Peten premium so dont really need the apache ...But this gives me other options so will gladly be grinding towards this instead of the apaches .I dont mind helis in tank RB gone are the days they could spawn in with VIKRS and murder the team .But people will always hate as its the fashionable thing right all the cool popular kids do it lol.

British Apache is best Apache. Better AA and doesn’t have to lose MAW or LWS to get starstreaks, which you can use against SPAA

Got this bad boy recently, and the fact that you need some 70 percent collective just to stay afloat pains me. Feels quite unforgiving to fly with low acceleration and occasional yaw locks
i still remember tese thing camping way above our spawn nuking whole team, it was so one sided nothing could fight back AND I MEAN NOTHING.

When i finally sell the event vehicles I am gona buy the Peten a d grind for AH-1Z probably over the Apaches. I believe the Zulu will eventually get the Hellfire-L with FnF ability and will then be significantly better...

*leopards spawn camping*
The match lasted 2mins and the most kills our team got were 2

I wish I was able to get the helis like this. I'm a college student who doesnt have the money to buy every heli premium to make the grind plausible (yes, I know ground assault is a thing but you really dont get that much from it in my experience)
Id say ground assault isn't a good way either. Repetitive and 90% your team loses because everybody is in a helicopter and nobody is using ground vehicles

Depends. Ah1z is my personal option over the 2. ah1z has missiles suited better for fighting other jets. Your worse enemy. But it's not too good against other helos. 16 hellfires still tank bust good. And the ah1z good Is for air to air combat or hitting lightly armored targets. The apache has more tools such s the air to ground and air to air radar and 4 total air to air missiles but. It's not as good as the Ah1z for air-to-air combat In my opinion. I'd go with the Apache, It's a lot more use-friendly.

I dont know, I dont get the hate. Yes helis are strong, just like everything else in the similar tier. To me there is no difference from a good heli pilot getting 3-4 kills in the early game than a g91/mig/phantom getting 3-4 kills in the late game. In fact late game helis arguably have a lesser impact to the outcome of a battle (as seen in the vid where justins team loose even though he is netting kills), they either help to finish a game quicker or net you a few extra kills (on spawn campers) when you loose. All weapon platforms are strong when used by someone capable.
Apaches are great, but true to form Gaijin danced around everything good about them or held back weapon systems etc. For once though, not remotely mad about that given how out of control the Ka50's are, last thing we need is a platform throwing 16 radar/gps guided fire and forget hellfires from behind hills.
Pretty much,they didn’t give it any of its technological advantages that it has over the cobra,except for the fact that it flies better.
The Apache is a beast irl exactly for all of its fcs tech and capabilities not to mention that the 30mm irl is a beast.
Sucks to see the most battle hardened hardened and best equipped attack helicopter in such a neutered state. :(
Also are heli based AAMs like the stinger and Mistral aren't supposed to be as bad as they are but gaijoob's Sekrit Dokumintz say otherwise

I still dont understand why there is "Aircraft" in "GROUND" battles. I mean, everybody hates them everybody hates dominating the game for once and a random ATGM hits you from nowhere and you have nothing that you can about that..

You are doing a great match in you tank and boom, out of nowhere, a NORD, Hellfire, PARS III, bomb (even from a suicidal bomber) kills you.
Tow 2s were a thing on ah1z and they fuked it up got it removed... was the best shit on zulu i used them over the helfires on small maps imo ah1z is the best looking heli in the game ;)

Ive been playing war thunder for over 6 months and still not get my first helicopter unlocked 😢

I still argue that Hellfires are more effective due to top down attack, which obliterates more modules and crew at a time compared to vikhrs. However concerning overall usage, the vikhrs are gonna take the cake due to AA capability. In the end, both are deadly missiles, and will kill all tanks just the same if you use them right. I think this video showcases a lot of why people hate helis, and also a lot of how helis arent always braindead gameplay.
Regardless of its performance and overall quirks, I think the problem lies with the grind to it.
Heli EC is still broken. Unless you are in a Ka50 of some type, you will probably never see a good game, and thus grinding any line (without premiums) in Heli EC is going to be unrealistic.
Ground RB is also a death pit for helis, especially stock ones, since you rely heavily on your teammates to cover you both in the air and on the ground at times. I'm not saying its impossible, but for helis to really perform well, everything has to be... optimal. And the more stock you are, and the more lower BR heli you have, the more optimal the conditions have to be. And those certain conditions you need only happen every now and then, which isn't a reliable way to grind anything.
There is just no way to reliably grind to this vehicle, and thus, I'm sure I speak for others here, I have little interest in even trying.
Well there's a massive nerf for hellfires inbound now, but none in sight for Vikhrs so, get ready for that Ka50 spam to intensify even more.

I play USSR and still have that stupid Mi-4AV...Not able to kill single thing with it...I Dont understand why Gijin didnt give us Mi-8 as starting helicopter, or polish Mi-2 armed variant with atgm and aam...MI-4 is suffer high sadly...

Yedi encompasses exactly how WT makes me feel, I've nearly finished every nation (except china because that's a joke) but hellfires do almost nothing and the giant weakspot on abrams makes it aggravating

My guess is that people complain about "KA-50 spam" or "cancer" is because that helicopter can be bought. Whereas this one needs to be unlocked through the EXTREMELY RIDICULOUS LONG heli grind.
They complane about it because as a tank you cant fight a Ka52
