I would use the ARC from TV to powered speakers, so doesn't have the be the most refined ever, but in the past SMSL ARC did not control the volume of pre-out, this would be a nice feature.
This is why I believe having parametric EQ, and compressor and limiter features is necessary to have because all music is not created equal” there will never be a perfect DAC for every music and owner. 😮

Did it in your tests workd with eARC HDMI, as well? I'm wondering how the sound of DO200 Pro compares to SMSL DO400 that you had reviewed. Which one is better, more neutral and natural sounding with better soundstage, clarity and separation?
Thanks for your review. I'm currently evaluating this same SMSL DO200 Pro DAC and it seems on par with my Topping E70 Velvet. I didn't know that about the 5V vs 4V setting. I wonder if dropping the voltage to 4V doesn't alleviate the noise so much as making it less audible?

I was getting FOMO for the Do200 Pro as it is on Prime Day discount. i will happily settle with the Do00Pro from your response here.
Can you please confirm that the volume control through HDMI ARC actually controls the amplifier’s volume and not the preamp part of the DAC (when using TV remote) or even worse some fake dynamic volume like in all past SMSL DACs that had HDMI ARC feature - PS100 and AO300. I’ve owned them both, and returned for that feature implemented in that way. Thx!
Hello Tharbamar Today I got my SMSL DO200 Pro DAC. And I got a problem playing MQA-CD by using coax and optical SPDIF inputs: during playback of MQA-CD constantly I got the sound dropouts. I tried both coax and optical inputs, I also changed the cables and tried with cd transport Audiolab 6000CDT and Sony DVD player. However, nothing changed dropouts remain to be present. I also tried normal CD playback, no problem with it. On USB input all the files FLAC and MQA play without dropouts.

Hi, at your suggestion I bought the SMSL 9 ultra and it's great. How about pairing the SMSL SH-X SA with it and as a headphone amplifier, but a preamplifier for the amplifier. Almost bought that Muzishare amp but got the Willsenton R8 . May have to have both though, I love the look of the Muzishare amp.

To be honest you can’t go wrong with either of them, it only come down to personal preference.
I prefer ESS over CS Logic.

Today I got my SMSL DO200 Pro DAC.

I sent the email to the service line. However no reply at the moment.
I got the support from the seller. They provided me with the firmware update. After the installation the problem was eliminated. All is good now.
