- My re-recording plus sheet music of the first Heroes of Might and Magic Medley of Paul Anthony Romero's Budapest Concert. The pieces contained in this medley are, in order:
Title (Heroes 1); Biara's (Heroes 5); Grass (Heroes 2); Biara's reprise (Heroes 5); Dirt theme aka Hope (Heroes 4); Sorceress' (Heroes 2)*; Academy (Heroes 5); Academy (Heroes 4); Academy (Heroes 5); Sea (Heroes 4)
*There has been confusion about what piece of music matches which town. This is most likely due to the fact that some people played the game in the mid-90ies and listened to the MIDI soundtrack, which differed from the stereo/opera soundtrack. In addition to that, the add-on POL had different town musics. I, for instance, never heard the stereo Sorceress theme from Succession Wars until a few month ago. I refer you to • Heroes of Might and Ma... for a glimpse at what the MIDI soundtrack sounded like.

Sir, I cannot express my gratitide for your doing this... After a long search (to no avail) I decided to write to mr. Romero to ask for the notes, and he kindly replied he never transcribed them, but that he will send them in case he does. I better write again, save him the trouble and tell him there's somebody already doing this, and pretty damn well. I take my hat off for you, and say thank you a thousand times.. I have honestly not felt happier in more than two years! Whoever, wherever you are, know that you are doing good, and I wish you never stop, be it through your music or otherwise. Thank you, Malte!! I only started playing again some three years ago, and found Romero's piano concerts piano around then. I was since looking for the sheets with something close to obsession, haha :D... There is nothing more beautiful than playing an instrument in this life

Dude. I cried.
I wasted the last 10 years on not playing piano after I moved out of family home for my studies. First I couldn't afford a piano, then I had no space to put it in. Finally I'm moving to a new flat in a few months. Finally I'll be able to catch up with that dream again and practice. I swear, in another 10 years, I'll be rocking arrangements like this one. I have horrible attention and motivation problems, but I'll have to overcome them. There's nothing more worth the time.
Life comes at you fast sometimes. Hope everything works out with the new flat and piano. Check back in when you can - I wanna hear you play some Heroes tunes. ;)

Sheet music is now ready for download! The next video will probably be Part 4 of the Budapest Concert: Necropolis from Heroes 3 and Sea themes from Heroes 2. It will take a while though to learn those arpeggios from the Sea theme. :)

This is amazing! That man made such a plethora of unforgettably strong music, it's a crying shame that HoMM and M&M series are not part of big game music concerts that travel around the world.
One word: Talent. Not only those pieces of music must be nightmare to master, but the bigger is the reward. My left and right ear are grateful for this :)
Never played Heroes except 3, never listened to that music, but your arrangement is just awesome! (I already listened to all your other ones).

Even though I only played HOMM 3 (for 80 million hours) and HOMM 4 (30 million hours) and didn't recognize some of the themes here, this was beautiful. I will make HOMM covers in the future too and seeing arrangements like this gets me so excited. :)

I will write you surely! As for this arrangement, bar 79, don't you think in right hand the quavers should be "d" and "es" instead of "cisis" and "dis"? Much more easier to read and more appropriate for harmony.

I denoted that part of the melody in the same scale that I denoted the G# minor arpeggio in bar 70 with, namely the G# minor scale. Thinking about it now, I can't figure out why I did that. It certainly didn't improve readability. :)

I was thinking about doing Dungeon and Conflux. The problem is that this is extra difficult: Transcribing an orchestral work is not only more difficult, but then I've also got to arrange it! Also, I'm having trouble finishing those transcriptions that I started a while ago. Of course, I want to finish those first. :) Thanks for commenting!

Depends on what you need the MIDI is for... The playback of the midis is pretty bad: There will be no pedal throughout most of the pieces, and tempo changes are also not reflected.
If the MIDI is required for editing, then I'd rather upload the Musescore files.
I asked for midi file just to play it in Synthesia. I've never learnt how to read music notation so this is the only way for me to play it by myself. Musescore files would be great as well.

I think maybe you can just record it in midi with right tempo by having played it once on midi keyboard or any usb synthesizer?

Just checking in - I'm still hanging in and trying to learn this middle piece of the whole academy/sorcery themed part. Although I can not hope to achieve this level of expression displayed here, at least I want to be able to play it on an amateurish-casual level.

@@eraveng7208 In Heroes IV is academy called order faction. They were wizard in H2, tower in H3, order in H4 and academy in H5 and H7.
