Beautiful video mate. Just wondering how far out do you have to go to find fish? Is that better at the tip of the break wall or just anywhere? Thank you
Hey @LinhCaMauOUc, Hope all's well and you're finding a fish. The fishing will vary dramatically based on the rock wall / break wall that you're fishing, so it's worth exploring the length of the wall at different stages of the tide. Variables that could impact the bite include water depth and clarity, wind direction, additional structure, bait and so forth. A good starting point is deeper sections of water and areas where current pushes onto the wall. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin
Hey @richieelotoilaione858, A rod with a powerful bottom section and springy tip can definitely aid with casting distance, as can the use of thinner monofilament or braided line. Sometimes the 2kg sinker bloke will get the bite, however some days the fish want that bait wafting around more naturally. Fish will often hunt along the base of the rock wall also, so it's not always about casting as far away from the bank as you can. All the best with the fishing, we hope you get stuck into a few soon. Cheers, Justin
Hey @bertlindsay, current and depth will generally dictate the weight required, with a general rule that you fish as light as possible to get your bait into the strike zone. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin
Hey @Uraveragecasualgamer, hope all's well and you're finding a fish. I'm not 100% on the area that you have moved to, however a great starting point is your local tackle store. If you let them know that you are new to the area and need a few spots to start, I'm sure they will help you out... tell them Justin from Tackle Tactics sent you ;). You will also find loads of information on our website, in the Tips and Techniques and Rigging Guides sections, including various location articles. tackletactics.com.au/Home-Page. Thanks for touching base and all the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin
Hey @richwood571, We generally run 3/0, 4/0 or 5/0 size gang rigs depending on the size of the pilchards, with 4/0 a good allrounder if you are unsure. We make these gang rigs using Mustad 4202D hooks. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin
Nice feed indeed :) cheers
Make old Grandad real happy :)

I'm the bloke with the 2kg sinker 😂😂
How do you cast so far without a weight? Does the rod type make a difference.

It is goodto check in with a pro & confirm if you have been doing it right or wrong.
Port Macquarie?
Nice vid 🙂
Very nice video. Would you also not use a sinker when fishing off the rocks with more bust up and current? Ta

Well done mate. Did you use s sinker or just the weight of the pilchard? Cheers.
Floating pilchard - no sinker.
G’day I have just moved to port and I was wondering if you know any good fishing spots you could tell me
