Magnus Carlsen is a Norwegian chess grandmaster who is the former five-time World Chess Champion, reigning four-time World Rapid Chess Champion, and reigning six-time World Blitz Chess Champion. Arguably the greatest Chess player of all time, Carlsen has held the No. 1 position in the FIDE world chess rankings since 1 July 2011 and trails only Garry Kasparov in time spent as the highest-rated player in the world. His peak rating of 2882 is the highest in history. He also holds the record for the longest unbeaten streak at the elite level in classical chess.
He became a grandmaster at the age of 13, the second youngest in history at the time, and quickly established himself as a rising star in the world of chess. In 2013, Carlsen won the World Chess Championship and has since defended his title multiple times, solidifying his position as one of the greatest players of all time.
Carlsen is known for his exceptional skill in the fast-paced bullet chess format, where he regularly defeats other top players in high-pressure matches. He has been compared to legendary chess players such as Garry Kasparov and Bobby Fischer for his strategic abilities and quick-thinking, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers. His greatest rival in the chess world is American Rapid & Blitz specialist Hikaru Nakamura, against whom he has had many intense battles.
In addition to his impressive track record in over-the-board competitive chess, Carlsen is also known for his willingness to take on challenges outside of the traditional chess world. He has played chess against artificial intelligence and is the three-time defending champion of the Champions Chess Tour, an online fast chess tournament where he won three consecutive editions in empathic fashion since its inception. In recent times, Carlsen has turned to playing Poker, of which he has had limited success. With his natural talent and dedication to the game, Carlsen continues to be a dominant force in the world of chess and a true legend in the sport.

Likely didn’t like the fact that his pawns would be doubled while his opponents would not be.

Andrew Tang is great. I think he's in college now? So maybe not as active competitively. I'm curious to see if he transitions in or out of elite competitive chess eventually... I can certainly see him as a US champ but I think he'd have to go all in to be 2700+, but don't know if that's his goal, or if he's aiming for blitz or rapid champ, etc.

I did not understand magnus's king move in the second game. Kh7 then again Kg7. If anyone understands the depth of this move please explain it for me.
I know most of the moves are complicated and some people may want to make fun of me whether I understand the other moves. But seriously please share your knowledge for those specific moves.

There’s nothing obvious about Kh7, but I don’t think in this case there’s much depth to it - I’m not making fun of you I’m simply stating to my understanding I don’t see any important sequences to that move in particular, it’s nothing special or gives/takes any advantage. To me it seems like one or a combination of:
      1. Anticipating the diagonal the King was previously in opening up due to the pawn trades on d5 and wanting the king to be off the same color diagonal as white’s bishop.
      2. A waiting move to see what the opponent will do.
      3. A safe move to gain time increment since he’s at 15sec.
      4. Opening up his own bishop since it had no targets on h6 and it couldn’t move anywhere with the King blocking it and white’s pawns controlling g5.
Kg7 back however there’s an obvious reason but I can understand not catching it. Kg7 back is the only way to defend the f7 pawn that would otherwise be taken with check by the White Queen on d5.
Edit: notice how he later once again moved the King to h7 after White’s Queen stopped targeting f7 and d4 was played. He wants the King away from that dark square diagonal! Notice how white also promptly created a battery putting both bishop and queen on that diagonal soon after Kh7.

@@tonycallaghan7776no is not actually white loses two rooks and the queen really bad exchange there is a pawn right there rook takes pawn, pawn takes rook another rook takes pawn then black queen takes rook and white queen takes black queen and king kills it. It was nothing there to play
