For me the creepiness of the Backrooms comes from this nostalgic feeling that hits you somewhere in your childhood. When you stay at school or at the mall or any public space for too long, or come at the wrong time. All the lights are down, maybe few are still on, but they just make the place look eery and uninviting. There're no people chating and laughing, it's silent and lonely and all you can hear is yourself. Like you don't belong. Like you're not supposed to be here or see what you're seeing. Gives me the chills. Smth similar is when you stumble upon some unfinished part of the game lol
For me, one of my greatest fears is being lost or not knowing where I am. I used to have dreams when I was a kid of being in open spaces, all alone, with no idea of where to go or where to start looking for the way home. It's one thing to think "oh, I'm in this big warehouse store but I know the front entrance is this way so if I go there, I can wait for my parents", but it's another thing for you to be in this entirely alien place with no idea where to start looking for a way back. like being dropped into the open sea with no sign of land and no idea which way to start swimming, no hope of rescue and no guarantee that you'll even have the strength or energy to make it back. the backrooms really hits me with that sort of sensation. you've phased out of reality itself. you're trapped in an endless location. you can walk as far as you like, but there's no way out and there's nobody around to help you. you're well and truly lost. there's no hope of finding a familiar place. there's no hope of escape. you're entirely on your own and no matter which direction you pick, you're not going to find any way back. that's what truly terrifies me about the backrooms.
Like hospitals/schools in 1990s la county. That 90s color schemes with the yellow/color accent floors and that rocky white wall material with the bright yellow bulbs
i love exploring and always have. when i was 12 i was in the mall and went to the bathrooms then went down a high celing corridor to this large area for staff. it was like the back rooms bc it was so quite but when i left the mall was so loud and noise. it felt like two different worlds
It’s like unnerving because it makes you feel so isolated and alone, because of the eeriness you feel outplace and it gives off the vibes that you’re somewhere you shouldn’t be
That’s Dyslexia for you!…NOT totally how it works and everyone is different, but this does happen sometimes… I am Dyslexic and Daz has mentioned in videos that he is Dyslexic as well…Bet that’s one reason Daz doesn’t like notes…It just takes allot of our word processing… I'm smart, but ones brain is literally the compure of your body and for things like Dyslexia, your brain holds allot of the information, but it takes somewhat longer to download the file for the information... Sometimes I process the file extra fast and my brain computer might skip over or jumble up some information from the storage of information in my brain...Glitches happen!... At least for me, that is!...But I'm sure if you are Dyslexic, you can relate to at least some of what I said... As far as this game goes! I like it!...There were areas that were obviously unnerving and actually areas that felt kinda silently peaceful (that's how I feel when watching certain backrooms videos)...Other areas felt unnerving and kinda peaceful at the same time... This game also did a great job of combining all the different Backrooms levels I've seen... I forget the channel, but they computer animate the backrooms and it's actually really beautiful as well as being unnerving... They have a garden level even and that is just beautiful...They also have a (I think it's called) "Endless Suburbia" that bends and flips and levetates and twist around and it leads to the next level which is a walk through a disjointed mansion... So yep! Some of the backrooms levels do go outside!... I wish I remembered the channel name (The name has to do with something about the "universe")... The channel even has a "playroom" level with slides and ball pits... But yeah, it would be cool to see you play the full version of the game. 😎
@@dead.channelbruh no he didn't create it. he based his series on an old creepypasta on 4chan but his series is what inspires most other backrooms creations
Just the thought of ending up in the backrooms is terrifying. Being alone in a world that's not quite right. Wanting to hide but you're out in the open and even if you do hide there could be creatures that know the place better than you. Even walking around, wondering if every corner you turn will lead to an entity. I would probably feel like I was getting watched/followed. All those noises are scary too because, where is it coming from? And no one can protect you, you're all alone. Or maybe you're not alone which is even scarier. it's like a giant maze, you don't know how to get out. Then if you get back to the real world how would you know to trust it?
A lot of people don’t believe me when I say this but when I was quite young I had no clue about anything backrooms related and one night I had a ‘dream’ I was in the backrooms, i obviously didn’t know what it was but that dream felt so real and always stayed with me and a few years ago I came across a level of the backrooms which matched where I was in my dream so perfectly, it was the exact same as what my dream was and that’s always creeped me out to this day
this game really captures the true horror found within the backrooms, the original concept was really its prime. I felt the insane amount of additions when it came to areas and monsters wasn't what I hoped the backrooms would end up like, I am glad this game recaptures the original concept perfectly.
The backroom is based on a concept where for example an office building corridor which is normally filled with people has an earie feeling to it when it is empty and dead silent...this is how they create the phsycologycal effect of walking through long empty corridors feeling that you are being watched or even followed
I love the slight detail of the elevator doors closing at different times instead of perfectly meeting in the middle. Small stuff like that is what horror needs, especially in the context of something like the Backrooms. And yes, you should play the second game, from what I've seen it's just as incredible.
I legit have never been so on edge whilst watching a video... i was just waiting and waiting for something to happen but nothing. This is what I call a horror game.
So, I think the thing that makes me uneasy/creeped out about the back rooms comes from my experience reading the Yellow Wallpaper. If I remember correctly, It's a story about a woman who is struggling with postpartum depression and is slowly slipping into insanity. She is obsessed with the yellow wallpaper in the room she is locked in. She hallucinates and sees scary/weird things. She is terrified but also intrigued by it. The backrooms reminds me of this story, and I like to fantasize that the creator took inspiration from the story (not likely, lol) in the creation process. Love the content, Daz! Keep it up :)
Honestly I find all the Backrooms so nostalgic. It’s like the buzz of the lights reminds me of being younger, and the liminality of the different places in the Backrooms. It’s uncomfortably comfortable…
yellow does have a sort of psychological effect because it represents danger and when you see yellow you tend to link it with danger or an uneasy feeling. or if a character is wearing yellow (coraline, little nightmares, IT) you kind of know something is going to happen to them. its like a warning in a way even if nothing is going to happen? so yellow was definately the best descision for the wallpaper its insane
From other video's I know that there is an actual entity that you can run into. But you can completely miss it. You also really don't need to see it in order to be scared. This is such an amazing experience!
I love the uneasy feeling of the backrooms, how everything seems oddly familiar but eerie and creepy in a way. This really goes without saying that it's more psychological. Would love to see more on this and look forward to you playing their more up to date version of the game!
Can I just say that when I found out about the backrooms, I became legitimately scared. The only reason why I think they could be real is because there are a plethera of stories and experiences from people all over the world. One of them I was seeing around, I had actually seen in real life in my old church when I was younger. I could swear up and down at you and promise you that it was real. It was the yellow backroom. I was in the entire church alone, and for some reason, no one could hear me because all of a sudden, no one was there. Like I was literally crying and running around. Like the downstairs door wasn't there anymore, and the upstairs door was locked. Thankfully, someone saw me outside from upstairs trying to open the door, so they opened it for me, and everything was literally back to normal. I literally ran over to the back of the church and it was there and I could see my mom and my brother sitting in the kitchen talking to people when no one was there when I was inside. It was so disorienting and uncomfortable.
I actually really enjoyed this! I would love more games like this to come out! They don’t rely on jump scares and scary creatures it’s just purely your imagination and the how you interpret the noises and what you are perceiving.
Personally for me the Backrooms feels both like if you asked an IA to build a human settlement (and gave it random and not very well thought out prompts) and also like a dream… or more precisely nightmare realm. Doors and hallways that end in funky, dead-end corners or massive open rooms with one small door on the other end, lighting being invitingly bright in some places and unnervingly dark in others; making you instinctively feel uneasy because you don’t know what could be waiting for you in or beyond the dark. The little “nooks” that don’t seem to make sense for a building from real life. Random furniture that’s just enough out of place that you know it wouldn’t be placed like that in a home with real, living people. It feels like a nightmare. Where you’re alone, but you just *feel* that something is watching you, chasing you and waiting for the perfect moment to pounce. Absolutely terrifying, but I love it. I’d love to see Daz play the update of this game too! ❤
I generally prefer psychological horrors, (especially with Daz) backrooms itself so creepy. Would love to see the newest version played by you! Love you daz!!
The eary rooms and noises was definitely different from the usual, gave me shivers down my spine and was super entertaining to watch, Id love to see the new one.
The whole idea of the backrooms is like the scariest shit i have ever seen, imagine being in there just going crazy. Just watching this video i was so creeped out about the idea of this shit
Interesting thing about this is that he got a different outcome than the other youtubers. Normally people such as 8-bitryan and so many other youtubers get the same ending where you fall out of the sky and you see this research facility again but daz got something a bit different. Also notice at 8:32 that daz is actually on the other side of the platform than the other youtubers. Because he took a different path, he got to a different outcome and even saw some things other youtubers didn't. If I get this game, I am going to try and see if I can get a different ending again. All of them seem the same but still slightly different.
The color yellow is supposed to make you feel happy but i think with backrooms it feels like that's the point. Like you're being lured into a false sense of security and you can feel that in the back of your mind. That makes it unsettling instead of actually "happy".
This, and the second game, is by far the best and most accurate representation of the backrooms :0 The best thing about the game is that there's no monster chasing you with over the top loud music. It's just you and the environment. It's terrifying. This, and the second game, is my favourite backrooms game I've seen. Thanks Daz for playing it!
I like this style of video. It feels a lot more personal. The little conversations Daz has with the viewers is nice, it’s different from his other playthroughs and I really enjoyed this video
The music at the end is perfect! It makes you question the world we’re in and if we ever even left the Backrooms because in someway or other it will always resonate with us
when i was younger if i had to go to my attic or basement i would start singing cause i was scared of being alone but when i felt like something was watching me or near me i would stay very quiet
I genuinely love the backrooms! Especially these eerie ones, theres so much more to it than "escape" horror games. There are so many unique things that make it exactly how Daz is saying, I would love to see more Backrooms content!
It feels oddly calming but at the same time you are forcing yourself to stay hyper aware because you're convinced there's something out to get you even when you feel almost safe
Daz if you see this, thank you so much for making me feel like i fit in. Im new at school and watching you makes me feel that i dont have to be like everyone else i can be myself, again thank you so much ❤
its crazy how well made this game is, the whole concept of the backrooms is so big and quite amazing to me and seeing people begin to make more games and stuff about it is so cool, especially games that are such well made like this one was
I think Daz would survive the back rooms in real life. He would just make the monsters or whatever is in there laugh and they would leave him alone and become dazzlers. Or he would just send Linda after them 💀
Daz your playthrough of this was great because I saw two other people play this and they didn’t discover the sections you explored. You did miss the creepy doll-looking figure though 😅
9:16 that is a Backrooms level itself and it’s just a massive office buildings and if there were entities there’s a entity that runs around the hallways and there’s window entities that stay in windows and…If you were to look into these specific windows (it’s not all windows)you would… die i think that’s..pretty obvious.
And that is how we pick who you want to be stuck in an island with. Daz is such a good company he has this feels that makes him unique to other UA-camrs and that is why I subscribe to Daz❤🎉
good sir, i have a horror game recommendation, its called Cry Of Fear its a great game and it has a great story. and its the best game that accurately depicts depression. please play good sir daz.
Ah yes! Daz has grown so much! Im happy for the progress he is making, and im such a criminal. I've stopped watching Daz for a while now. But im gonna come back! I've missed listening to the intros and him screaming every minute. Its chaos, comedic, all sorts! I love it! Great work Daz! *Here before this vid blows up! (aka here after its been posted 1 hour ago)
I like both variations of the Backrooms with and without the monster, I will say tho, when a monster is chasing you you will feel real fear, but when nothing is chasing you jts worse because the vibes and energy make your brain feel like something is there
The Backrooms were such an interesting idea until people made it into another SCP type thing with all these levels and entities and it pretty much took that away.
At 6:09 I swear I saw something in the doorway briefly, and then at 6:10 after Daz looked away for a moment and then looked back its gone. Did anyone else see that?
Whoever reading this, I pray that whatever you’re going through gets better and whatever you’re struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine I wish you the best of what life has to offer.❤️👏👏
Definitely would like more of these games on the channel. I enjoy atmospheric games just as well as games riddled with jumpscares and chase segments. Well, aside from the games, having you play them just enhances the experience. Thanks for the videos as always!
8:37 this whole scene felt like deja vu. Like I feel like I've seen that somehwere else like in a TV show or in a dream. I can't pinpoint why I recognize it.
To me it reminds me of the airport and also a ferry if you know what those are. Boarding a ferry at night feels exactly like that to me. Also so does being in an underground train station.

The first bit of the game all the way until the "millions of exits" is a part of the short film you watched a while back up
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Condo yea…
Backroom Monsters when they see Daz in the Levels: *"Omg, I'm such a big fan!"*
When daz was at the exits/windows
Daz' brain: *JUMP*
The music at the end is perfect!
It makes you question the world we’re in and if we ever even left the Backrooms because in someway or other it will always resonate with us
when i was younger if i had to go to my attic or basement i would start singing cause i was scared of being alone but when i felt like something was watching me or near me i would stay very quiet
I genuinely love the backrooms! Especially these eerie ones, theres so much more to it than "escape" horror games. There are so many unique things that make it exactly how Daz is saying, I would love to see more Backrooms content!
always a good day to watch daz
True ❤️
It feels oddly calming but at the same time you are forcing yourself to stay hyper aware because you're convinced there's something out to get you even when you feel almost safe
The game looks so, so realistic, it felt like I was watching a backrooms film the whole time.
Daz if you see this, thank you so much for making me feel like i fit in. Im new at school and watching you makes me feel that i dont have to be like everyone else i can be myself, again thank you so much ❤
Watching daz just makes me feel better :)
its crazy how well made this game is, the whole concept of the backrooms is so big and quite amazing to me and seeing people begin to make more games and stuff about it is so cool, especially games that are such well made like this one was
Seeing daz walk to the directory and called it dictionary made me literally die.😂😂😂😂
I think Daz would survive the back rooms in real life. He would just make the monsters or whatever is in there laugh and they would leave him alone and become dazzlers. Or he would just send Linda after them 💀
Everytime daz uploads a horror video just know you finna laugh your butt off😂😂
This may be my favourite game you've played. No scary jumpscares, not being chased. Just pure unsettling. So quite and empty. Love it
Daz your playthrough of this was great because I saw two other people play this and they didn’t discover the sections you explored. You did miss the creepy doll-looking figure though 😅
They're actually making a film about the Backrooms with Kane Pixels
Daz always makes my day better just by talking lol
Me too ❤️
9:16 that is a Backrooms level itself and it’s just a massive office buildings and if there were entities there’s a entity that runs around the hallways and there’s window entities that stay in windows and…If you were to look into these specific windows (it’s not all windows)you would… die i think that’s..pretty obvious.
That was amazing, it got me looking around my room questioning reality ahah
And that is how we pick who you want to be stuck in an island with. Daz is such a good company he has this feels that makes him unique to other UA-camrs and that is why I subscribe to Daz❤🎉
I didn’t necessarily feel the same scared as a normal dad horror, this was a new weird scare and eerieness
good sir, i have a horror game recommendation, its called Cry Of Fear its a great game and it has a great story. and its the best game that accurately depicts depression. please play good sir daz.
The updated version is wild, definitely play it
(4:53) “DICTIONARY” Daz??? 😂😂
I love when daz posts it really makes my day ❤❤❤😂😂😂
Same lol😂
Daz we need that new version played right now😂 that looked amazing
Daz!!! New video idea TLC "Cheapskate Uses her own Poo to Grow Food" Its diabolical 😂😮
I love the little sounds. They add yet another layer of mystery to it. What was that?? Where did that come from??
yes daz PLEASE play more backroom games!! i’m such a huge fan of them and YOU!! i always check if you’ve added any! ❤️❤️
Daz-
You brighten my day by just laughing-
Having no entities in the backrooms is like having no presents and Christmas 😭
Love you daz, not in a weird way lol
I’m alone in my apartment watching this and my neighbour upstairs just slammed the dryer closed. Needless to say my coffee is now all over my couch!
You should play ultimate shadow/ ultimate darkness on itchio, I just did a let’s play on it, I was so scared
"whats this... Dictionary" when it says Directory XD couldnt help but laugh lol XD
20 minute daz video= world peace
TYSM DEAR!
I will play this video often as not only is it relaxing but to tell you how I'm doing.
Definitely would like more of these games on the channel. I enjoy atmospheric games just as well as games riddled with jumpscares and chase segments. Well, aside from the games, having you play them just enhances the experience. Thanks for the videos as always!
Daz is the only person I'd want to be stuck with in a haunted house or the backrooms😂

Daz: Dictionary
8:37 this whole scene felt like deja vu. Like I feel like I've seen that somehwere else like in a TV show or in a dream. I can't pinpoint why I recognize it.
theres a film called CUBE. could it be related to ur memory of that?
To me it reminds me of the airport and also a ferry if you know what those are. Boarding a ferry at night feels exactly like that to me. Also so does being in an underground train station.
Definitely play the new version! I personally adore liminal space horror/exploration. It’s really interesting.
