I just planted 2 Jacaranda trees at my ranch in Anderson Ca. We raised them at our home in Norco Ca as root suckers from the trees we have there. In 15 gallon pots these trees were 8 & 10' tall. Wrapped them in jute twine netting used for slope erosion control. Laying down in my 12' trailer they made the 600+ mile trip wonderfully. Planted them with drip irrigation & they are very healthy sprouting new growth. I have 4 small saplings and 2, 3-4 footers to plant as well. Next year we plan to grow from seeds. 🤞
Im in South Australia and Jacarandas are everywhere here , pick up some of the pods and start from seed, they are a very interesting seed, flat with a papery covering. I started out buying a bonsai kit jacaranda from my local Bunnings and out of several seeds only one germinated with success. Its now around 700mm high 1 yr in. I later found some pods and germinated quite a few, around 7 . there are 50+ seeds in a pod.
I like the trees because this guy makes me like the trees. I swear i love these trees. I'm sorry, I'll go now. Please, I love it. Don't yell at me. I love it. I swear.
Thanks for the info and sharing the link to California Gold's program. There is a huge 40 foot tall Jacaranda tree growing in Orland, CA. It still has a few flowers on it and it is the beginning of Septemeber. Orland is in planting Zone 9b whereas Redding is 9a. Hope yours will be big and beautiful.
Thanks you for this video. It's very informative," leaves eating the paint" is very important information! I live in south Tx. A Borderline little city name Roma . I just purchased a lot which is 280 ft long in the front .I would like to place them 30 ft apart all along the front street . To sort of make the long view of purple 💜 flowering 🌳 tree's... anyways when can you post a new video of your tree??
Thank you so much for this information! I just saw a picture of them on Instagram and came to UA-cam for information. This was very helpful and interesting. I am in zone 9 in Florida, I want to try growing these now :)
Thank you so much for posting that link about the Jacaranda in California i have never seen or heard of this tree before. But it is magnificant majestic & marvellous. I gotta get one here in Barbados West Indies i think our climate will be suitable i hope the nursery ships worldwide even if its just the seeds.
I had one of these in Miami Florida but termites got it and had to remove it. I've seen that you can Bonsai these trees. I don't want to do anything tiny but is it possible to prune this in a way that it would stay about 12 ft tall?
I'm in the Sacramento area. I bought 3 last fall that died from over watering less than 3 months later. Learned from my mistake and got another one in April that has grown some 4-6 inches bigger to about two feet now. Germinated some seedlings too. I had about 16 seedlings but most have died. Not sure if it was heat or damping off related. Royal poincianas seem to germinate really easily but end up suddenly dying off after a month.
I have ordered some seeds from California. Wonder how long before I see a bloom( will I live that long?) Our climate here in the Middle East is very very hot, but some plants really thrive in the heat. So here goes, wish me luck! 😁
I collected my own from a tree here in San Diego, I let them sit in a bowl with water and in about five days the first one started to sprout. I’m going on three weeks and they are still pretty tiny.
Thank you for all the great information. I was hoping if you had any suggestions on a Jacaranda tree that has not bloomed the las two years. We’ve had our tree since 2017 and only bloomed the first year we got it. Our tree is now 20-25 feet tall. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you!
Cool vid👍🏼 yeah I'm down in Miami and have a few franboyan and jacaranda jacs have nicer foliage the later has nicer flowers imo both some of the nicest on earth. Both very good for bonsai.Ive been trying to get de Japanese maples going but in Miami it's virtually impossible unless it's a controlled environment or as a bonsai but of course I'm trying anyways lol
Hello! Just stumbled upon this video while learning about charangos and recognized you from a reacting channel with your daughter a couple of years ago. Just tried looking for it as I remember enjoying some of your reactions to Eminem songs, but sadly it says it's closed now. Why was it deleted? It was great
Hellow!! I have been looking for one of those jacaranda . here in utah. I know. Here. Is very cold Bu i really wante to try one and see If. It works. And also a eualipto. I was in. California. For 20 years. . & I love theme. Bu here . not find .
How long from the size you showed for it to get to a decent height (say 2.5 metres)? I am in Western Australia, mild winters and hot summers with lots of sun. Mine is 1.2 metres high and I've planted it north facing (remember im in the Southern Hemisphere) and in full sun.
Planted mine in July. It’s about 4ft now. We’re having our coldest night yet tonight say it’ll get down to 26. Just put a blanket on her and said a little prayer. I’m in New Orleans.

It may have gotten too cold. Make sure you fertilize with proper granules. Not to much as that may cause great deep green leaves but hinder blossoms.
Hi, my tree is about three yearls old, and only had one flower on it this june. How do I get it to flower more? thanks
Can you please let’s know the link to the nursery where I can buy one of these trees please. Thank you

Is there any hope they can take colder temperatures?

Im confused my jacaranda is not decidious. Its one of the reasons i planted it out front. Hate barren trees.

In Bolivia best charangos are made of jakaranda trees.
I didn’t know they have big roots . My front yard is small
Update: I just bought one . And I don’t know where to plant it .
