Grand Hyatt Manila is my favorite so far; 57th floor club lounge views are amazing in the tallest building in the Philippines. With super swanky décor, it feels like you're on a cruise ship. Located in the best part of Manila walking distance to many malls, restaurants, and bars. Plus, GRAB rideshare service in Manila is about 1/4 the price of US UBER; from this location you can get to anywhere in Metro Manila cheaply and conveniently.
It is before the booking is completed on the website. It isn't always available, but when you go to select a room occasionally, it will show a points upgrade offers. It was great meeting you as well!
I’m currently on a mattress run at a (I’ll keep it anonymous, but a little homework will reveal multiple locations) Category 1 Hyatt. Nice place, decent pool, gym and free breakfast. Staying for 3500 points/night (off peak) and they have a deal going where you earn an extra 5000 points for every 3 nights you stay. So the nights are effectively costing me 1833 pts/night. This is helping me hit Globalist this year. With the WOH card, spending $15K -$20K per year Hyatt is effectively giving me 20 elite nights. Factor in this matters run…Globalist will not be that hard to reach, all while collecting the club access certificates and suite upgrade awards.
@@shielaromero8641 - it is credit for a night that you did not actually stay or pay for, that counts toward your goal of X nights per year. Need 20 nights credit to reach Discoverist status (if you don’t have World of Hyatt credit card). Need 30 nights credit to reach Explorist status. Need 60 nights credit to reach Globalist status. But Hyatt awards you credit of a nights stay for certain milestones. Hyatt also gives you certificates for an actual free nights stay at a hotel for reaching certain milestones. For Example - Hyatt gives you a certificate that you can exchange for an actual free night at a hotel when you have credit for both 30 and 60 elite/qualifying nights per year. If you have the World of Hyatt credit card, they also give you a certificate for a free nights stay, every year, on the anniversary of obtaining the card and also a free night certificate for every $15K spent using the card. Example of a credit for an elite or qualifying night (which is NOT a certificate for a free nights stay, but credit toward your goal of 30 nights per year {Explorist status} or 60 nights per year {Globalist status} - If you have the World of Hyatt credit card Hyatt automatically grants you Discoverist status and 5 elite nights credit, every year. They also give you 2 elite nights credit for every $5K you spend using the card. Hyatt also runs special offers throughout the year where you earn bonus points or free elite nights credit, which helps you reach your goal. When you use the WOH credit card at a Hyatt hotel you earn 9X points for everything charged on the card (room, meals at hotel restaurants, spa, etc.) So in my case, (spending $15K+ per year) with the WOH credit card, Hyatt effectively gives me 20 nights per year toward my goal of 60 nights. With the points earned on the World of Hyatt credit card. Also, Ultimate Reward points earned on a Chase branded credit card (Ultimate Reward points with Chase can be converted to Hyatt points on a 1 to 1 points basis) can be cashed in for actual free nights stays at Hyatts. So this year, I am basically getting 20 elite nights credit. I am earning 4 certificates for actual free nights stays. And earning enough bonus points that can be cashed in for approximately 30 actual nights stays at hotel. I am only paying for about 5 or 6 nights per year, but getting credit for 60 nights, when you factor in all the above. Globalist status is nice to have due to being granted “club” access, which gets you free breakfast for two people, free drinks and heavy hors d’ oeuvres during happy hour in the club lounge. If that hotel has no lounge, they normally offer the same thing in the restaurant and bar. Globalist status also offers several perks to include free suite upgrades in several cases. Hope I did not write too much!!.
I am a relative newby to the credit card game, two+ years ago I had two credit cards for 20+ years and let’s just say now I have a few more than two 😂. Hyatt is great and I have booked a few great trips (thanks for the tips). Going forward I am still leveraging Hyatt for the once a year big family trip (e.g. Baha Mar for Xmas 2024 booked on points) but I am sprinkling in Hilton (I now have both the Surpass and Aspire) and having a second program has been great due to the book 4 nights get the 5th free, the food and beverage credit, the number of hotels with Hilton compared to Hyatt and comparable to Hyatt, Hilton doesn’t charge resort fees on nights booked with points. The Hyatt program is great though, I took advantage of the promotions (2x qualifying nights) so will hit 30 nights which is a free night, I am stacking that with the free night on the card, the $15k spent on the card gets me a 3rd free night and we are getting brand explorer in December 2024. The plan is to use all four qualifying nights concurrently in Spring 2025.
Nice! Yeah, there are a number of ways to get free night certificates with Hyatt. It feels good to stack them all together and have them cover a vacation.
Bro your doing amazing man thsts great to hear. Can you tell me how you use the Surpass and Aspire together in more detail? Hyatt to me is easier to understand and use. How do you use aspire and surpass credits to get some good travel with your family?
@@lilrebaah I am copying and pasting an example I posted on another channel: I don’t have the UA-cam classic example of “booking a lay flat business class flight to an overwater bungalow in the Maldives” but I do have a real world example. 😂. I got the Surpass over the summer for the ~160,000 point award and the FNC and used that card to buy needed points on the 100% points sales which helped hit the SUB. I booked 6 nights at an all inclusive in Dominican Republic which would have cost my family of four about $750 per night so $750*6=$4,500 but instead cost me 100,000 points per night so 400,000 in total. I booked 4 nights on points, got the 5 free since I booked on points, I used the FNC on the 6th and because it is a Hilton and I booked on points I didn’t pay resort fees. As some mention the points purchased are not free so the 240,000 points (extra needed to get to the 400,000) on the 100% sale cost me $1,200 but that is much better than what I would have paid in cash at $4,500+. Additionally I got the Aspire for the resort credits, airline credit, diamond status and free night cert (uncapped) both cards will get you the food and beverage credit.
@@jpknowledge8852 if so that’s nice! I’m either going to get the Hyatt card or the IHG card next. Got a trip planned in the next year where the IHG points would be more useful than Hyatt points so I’ll most likely get IHG first. I fall back under 5/24 next June so whichever I don’t get I’ll get after I’m under 5/24
I agree. At the current rate, Hyatt will not be special in 7 years. But let's hope they slow it down, or let's just make the most of it while it is still good 😁

Sounds like a nice property. I'm gonna have to check it out when I visit the Philippines 🇵🇭
So many great tips in this video. Thanks for keeping us informed JP! 👊🏼

my favorite so far is the Park Hyatt St Kitts . Thompson central park and Andaz 5th ave are great for when in NYC
I haven't been to any of those yet. I would like to book the Andaz 5th Ave. It looks nice!
Tons of value with Hyatt. One day I can pick up some Chase cards to be able to splurge on some Hyatt properties.
So much value can be had. When you get those Chase cards, it is going to be a good day 😎

How do you get Hyatt prive
There are travel agents who offer the service. If you Google it, you'll find an agent who can set you up.

Club access is useless, I know of almost no Hyatg that has open lounges, that statement was misleading
There is a ton overseas with club lounges.
@krisrock4589 for US it's almost entirely useless
For the US, it has become incredibly limited. But on both my trip to Sydney and Paris, I got to access the lounge.

Great lounges at Grand Hyatt in Singapore, Bangkok and Manila.
