I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. These are always some of my favorites to watch. From Jackie Robinson’s home, to little Noah’s Ark, to that beautiful Coke mural, this was wonderful to experience!

Thanks Tampa Jay for this Awesome video series of the Big Bend/S. Georgia area and I hope you enjoyed your visit up here. I've lived up here for over 40 years and learned some things I never knew. The Cracker Barrel in Tallahassee being the first one in Florida, Jackie Robinson's birthplace, the little Noah's Ark at Pebble Hill Plantation is amazing. The town Cairo is pronounced Cay-ro like the syrup. In fact the high school mascot is the Syrup Makers. I love all the historic places in Thomasville which is The Rose City🌹The Victorian Christmas 🎄 they have is something special. People are encouraged to dress in Victorian era clothing. An old fashioned Christmas celebration. You and Cris need to come back up here then.

That's Beachton not Cairo. His dad had left them and his mom borrowed a wagon and the family left that house and went to Cairo to catch the number 6 train at midnight to california where his aunt lived. In those days blacks couldn't ride the trains in Georgia during the daytime hours so they had to wait a while for the 6th and last train out that day...Jackie's daughter had never been there to see his birthplace until a few years ago. she cried at that site.

The old diner you pulled into on you first stop was in fact an old Walffle House. I have lived in Grady County which is west of Thomasville in Cairo, Ga. for 62 years now. Somethings you showed like Noah's Ark. I never knew existed until you showed it in your video. I subbed and will tell people to watch your channel. Thanks for stopping in Grady county ! What an enjoyable video.

You were literally down the road from me when you were at the church! I wish I had known, I could have fangirled out lol. My husband has pics of that church back when it was in new looking condition. It was beautiful!
If you come back to the area, come during spooky season and go to spook bridge in Quitman. There was a horror movie done about it. I bet you would pick up ghosts there!
Also FYI it's K-row lol you were saying Cario wrong.

Definitely in a Georgia state of mind after watching this video. Historic attractions including the birthplace of Jackie Robinson. Always thought it a shame that Larry Doby, who was the first American League player to break the color barrier with the Cleveland Indians does not receive quite the same level of recognition. Larry experienced everything that Jackie did. The only difference is that his debut was three months later.

Thanks for sharing some familiar places to me. When my son went to FSU in the early 2000's I would go up to visit him and he would drive us to Moultrie in Colquitt County, Georgia to visit relatives. We would pass through Thomasville. One day you need to take some extra time to go to Moultrie. They have the most beautiful courthouse I have ever seen. Besides visiting relatives, I often went to the Ellen Payne Odom Genealogy Library, adjacent to the main library. Since you are so interested in your family history you might find something to research there. They also have a Historical Museum there and several historical homes, and a cool old jail building. The downtown square has lots of active businesses and if you go you have to eat at Three Crazy Bakers. Everything is homemade and super delicious! I hope you get to stop in Colquitt County one day.

I subscribed to your channel recently and have really enjoyed it. You covered Williston and Archer Florida very near my home in Alachua. I grew up in South Georgia around where you covered with this video. I lived in Tallahassee for a time. When you covered the back side of the capital building you were close to the education building. That was where i lived but at the time it was a college student slum. Keep up the good work, there is much ahead.

Thomasville lucky to still have that tree, because Micanopy Florida decided to cut their oldest tree down, due to ii think because of it was dying from tree funguses. town got together with city commission and they finally agreed to bring it down and end the suffering. I'm not quite sure i'll GOOGLE that, but yeah a real shame. it was around the same age, and was around during the Seminole Indian wars.

Tampa Jay when you were in Thomas county in Georgia you came up to the memorial of Captain John Triplett. That compass and square design that you see on that memorial with the G in the center of it that shows that he was a Mason. So when you see that symbol you'll recognize that they are being honored as being a Mason.
