I mean studio headphones aren't supposed to have any "special" sound, they are usually open so you can hear stuff outside easily, and are supposed to give a clear and unaltered sound. The other headphones were not for studio work
Monitoring headphones do usually sound a bit "dry" or Flat. But that's really the nature of what they're made for. I can understand why people won't like how they sound.
Yeah I think it's weird that people buy studio headphones expecting then to be super crisp or bass heavy, they're not designed for casual use but for mix engineers and producers
In short those Sony headphones are not consumer targeted headphones. More like an audiophile/studio targeted Average consumer won't appreciate the sound signature because average consumer wants a bassy pair of headphones or u-shape sound signature
To be fair Grados are open headphones too, and being open is not only about hearing outside world but also having a wider soundstage. (With closed headphones the sound seems closer to you.)

It’s already the futures expiration so there is no use in looking at patterns in my opinion - we will have to see how the CME traders react to last month's huge price fluctuations. Most important: will these close their positions (long or short) or will they extend their contract to next month. Also, and youre the market maker guys: 57K is the point of must hurt for both shorts and longs. So BTC will stay there till expiration; then either a pump or a dump but given they need to sell more futures and want to extend the bull run for as long as possible; they should pump over the weekend. Yes thats fake land but ideal for the market maker to push BTC potentially above 60K already this weekend in order to create an higher entry on Monday when CME opens again. Studio monitors are not supposed to sound good, they’re supposed to sound transparent; studio monitors are designed to give you an absolutely unadulterated, objective listen at how things sound, without enhancing it or coloring the sound in any way. So for consumer-grade purposes, yea they might sound a little off if you’re not mixing music, or like “something’s missing”
From what I observed on several Japanese dicussions, for the first three years of the MDR-M1ST (released in 2019) had a very slow adoption rate in Japan compared to the first three years of MDR-CD900ST (released in 1995; the non-"ST" released in 1985) to the general public.
you have to remember , the Sony MDR's are a studio reference headphone , tuned for flat response , they do not colour the sound like typical consumer grade stuff. I have recorded with these before , they are ok , typical sony far as I am concerned , I prefer my Audio technica ATH-M50xBT , sound is similar ( kinda what you want in recording) but fit and finish are so much better and much more comfortable
I've been watching Austin videos since 2015 and "pleasure me aurally" is the very first time I literally LOL'ed while watching a tech video. Thank you for making my day. Haha!
As for the Sony studio headphone sound, I believe they are designed to have a really neutral and flat sound profile thus it sounds kind of “airy”. It isn’t designed to be sounded “good” because the one that’s using it has to use it to hear the sound as near as the original artist make the sound.

From what i remember the Grado earpads are not comfortable at all but you can get the bigger pads that come stock on the more expensive models, though i wouldn't recommend grados since the built in cable is awfully stiff and not easy to replace once it breaks.
Keep in mind those headphones are monitors. They give you the audio as is without enhancements. They're used for producing. They're not meant for consumer use.
Oh I've got the bamboo keyboard and mouse at work, it's a great hit. Not a super excellent keyboard but it's useable. I paired it with a bamboo themed mouse pad.
