@@theKtransmission I have heard that season 12 at one point, was going to be Jon Pertwee but since he decided to quit on season 11 he never got a Cyberman story a shame in billions of ways and also had Jon Pertwee stayed on as the Dr he would only had his one female companion Sarah Jane and I do not think that Harry Sullivan would have ever joined the TARDIS team.
Agree with the list except for Revenge of of the Cybermen. I seem to be the only person in this universe that likes it and rewatches it?? Reusing the old Ark set and the cybermat and the pulsing poison and that creepy double agent who also same on Blakes 7 Pilot too!! and the change down to the on site caves of gold and those characters too i think are fun and pompous and well costumed. Fun and moves along well and the actors doing the cybermen i think are very good and script clean and to the point. The actor playing Borus? was also in Robots of death and in final episode of blakes 7 as Blakes friend in the Federation base. All the shooting in the caves and dampness, water ect and switching to studio for lot of the "gold" sets all with low budget, all fantastic i think.
It’s definitely got its charms, you’re totally right! The pulsing poison effect is great, and reusing the Ark plus the caves do make for some quality sets. I think it’s just a bit clunkier and had some problems in production behind the scenes that ends up on camera, which knocks it down a bit in my view compared to the rest of the season. Still a fun story to watch for sure, definitely not a bad episode.
@@theKtransmission Everything you point out is right of course, the writing is sort of B grade and slight woodeness in some scenes and saving money by having a a few cybermen and lots of redundant shooting in the caves and the "super bombs" exploding with just a fizzle??? Such a small planet that you can crawl to the center in a few hours would have this much gravity? Maybe all the gold adds extra mass? hmm However the two places and "gold" every where and the gold costumes and heres a bag of gold dust!! and Kelman and the little devices he used, as a child i remember seeing that and Ark and going WOW!, the studio work and audio is very in your face and clear and lots of intense closeups in the studio; i think thats why its stark i think, the caves are mostly wide and long shots and "softer" , the end planet "log" rolling is super cheap and yeah , cutting costs reusing sets was genius and could have been a lot worse. Even TNG had a lot of "bottle" shows to save money when drained on previous episode. blakes 7, very little money but very entertaining as you care for those guys and Baker and Sladen; she was so gorgeous and plucky. Just a magic time then and Pertwee had tons of quality stories but played a bit more serious where baker like Moores 007, sort of got a but jokey; and i like that anyway, just two diff plays on dr Whos character and even times with Unit being slowly phased out with Baker and new guys taking over. So glad it happened though, cheap and clunky or brilliant or not, its there to enjoy.
@@theKtransmission I have a hunch had this 12 season been still Jon Pertwee much as Liz Sladen would have still been there as Sarah Jane, I am of the opinion that Harry Sullivan might not have been introduced to the TARDIS crew and had Pertwee done this season of Dr Who and the stories been the 3rd Doctor he would have played and delivered the part his way and done his best had he stayed on Dr Who.
Tom Baker is and always will be the Doctor, and he is my Doctor and always will be in tens of billions of years.
He is THE Doctor
Great summary and review ...I look forward to your analysis of the second Baker season.
Thanks, me too! I’m definitely looking forward to jumping into Terror of the Zygons next.
The goat's anniversary!
Always and forever 🤘
You just got a new sub. That was a great video. Your work is exceptional. You should have more subs. Thank you.
Awesome, thanks so much! Glad to have you aboard.
Love the shirt with the cyberman banging a ciggie :)
Haha me too! He’s working on “Revenge of the Cybermen,” seemed appropriate.

So there's something I keep wanting to tell you about your cat, but every time I go to type it my mind just goes blank.... oh well - cute cat! 🤷♀️😸
Ah, so that thing is called a “cat.” Good to know! Yeah she is quite the cutie, isn’t she? 🐱
