All three of these women together is a godsend
I used to be an atheist, until I realized god is three women combined into one amazing band.
Amazing comment.
I'm still an athiest but the girls give me hope I'm wrong about God
Three imaginary boys
Lol
Simp
i feel like each of them sang their verse in a very personal way... esp phoebe's line in the beginning is such a phoebe melody
"being in love is the same thing as being alone
giving the sorrow some company
nothing to say, stay on your phone
im sorry i don't know what else you want from me"
I'm in love with Lucy's voice.
Literally the most beautiful song to exist
They’re all so perfect together!! I wasn’t really into Lucy Daccus before this but I think my minds changed 👏🏻
Agreed. Boygenius made me get into her solo stuff.
Her tiny desk is absolutely fantastic. 👍
Back in the States now
In a college town
I would walk around
But it's really coming down
Mesmerized by double lines
Two yellow tightropes
I'm making good time
I am never anywhere
Anywhere I go
When I'm home I'm never there
Long enough to know
Being in love is the same thing as being alone
Giving the sorrows and company
Nothing to say, stay on the phone
I'm sorry I do not know what else you want from me
I am never anywhere
Anywhere I go
When I'm home I'm never there
Long enough to know
You say "How are you", I say "I don't know
Let's dissolve the band, move to Idaho
Everyone's around and I hear you smiling
You say "I love you", I say "You too"
I am never anywhere
Anywhere I go
When I'm home I'm never there
Long enough to know
Ooh-oh-oh-oh
Ooh-oh-oh-oh
I am never anywhere
Anywhere I go
When I'm home I'm never there
Long enough
Wow.. the last refrain of this song is extra powerful, so much unique talent in one place. :)
When I’m home I’m never there
Long enough to know
😭beautiful
Literally crying for this
Beautiful song. And Ketchum is a beautiful town. And Idaho is a beautiful state. I just got back from my first trip there. It won't be my last.
my favorite supergroup
I'm moving up north in two months. and music doesn't usually make me cry. but this. I'm tearing up.
I love you julien baker :')
I love this song. It’s so gorgeous 😍

crying
I know we've had Covid and all that but goddammit these three have to get together and make some more music.
Happy Int.Women's day ❤❤❤
Hey that's my home :) I love my State!
Right? Idaho!!🎉
I love them
Julien definitely wins the award for most silly faces made during a serious song. Great song though.
See, I like her expression. Can see she’s an emotionally expressive singer.
I love how conscientious she is about the sounds she's producing.
❤
giving the sorrow some company, nothing like it
Please update the description to include Camille Faulkner on violin
The chorus gives me ‘Nearer my God to Thee’ vibes, idkw
I read an interview that said they were going for a Carter Family feel-Old Hymns and Folk songs. I completely agree that it is in that same space as hymns like Nearer my God.
Ketchum, Idaho is where Ernest Hemingway died. Not sure if there's a connection there

I don't understand what happened, what you prepared for
clicked on the video as soon as i saw julien bakers face (,:
Wonder why they titled it after Ketchum?
Who knows, I mean the song is about being on the road all the time which can lead to loneliness, I guess in a way a small town in central Idaho can kind of portray that, and it is more of a folk song, which is something you could expect from that region of the country, especially in the more rural parts. Idk there is a lot of reasons behind it, but I guess it kind of fits the "vibe"?
Anyone know what tuning Phoebe is using for this song?
Amie M i believe it’s in open d?
Amie M as u can tell I’m not super confident with my answer
it's standard tuning, the basic chords are just C/G F(add9 I think) C/G Gadd11
Looks like standard tuning to me? Not too sure though
Never dead long enough to know
men i trust please
HELL YEAH!
Bland is the best way to put it. The band "Bread" for millenials.
Thats a pretty general statement. You realise millenials are anywhere from early 20s-40
Seriously, I don’t even think they’re even millennials. Millennials are a minimum 25 you probably a millennial home slice

Nope. I'm a bitter old man.
I kinda like Bread tbh... sometimes it’s better than the Beach Boys when you need something to not have to process too hard. Anyway I think these ladies are at least a lot more cerebral than Bread at their best, but to each his or her own
listen to their EP, or their solo stuff. you’ll most likely change your mind.
Yawn
Go listen to Justin Bieber then loser
I feel sorry for trolls like you...
