- This Video shows how to easily replace the LG drain pump.
A bad pump will give you an OE error and sometimes keep the door from unlocking.
Its good to check the coin trap part of the drain that is behind the little door on the lower left front of the washer. You might find a missing sock there. Its more common that the pump’s impellor has broken free of the motor shaft and the pump needs to be replaced. The pumps are less than $25.00 at the link shown below.
This problem is Very Common for LG Washers.

Had your video running while I tore into my machine tonight and happy to say it was a success notwithstanding the pump extraction which went a bit tougher than how yours looked. I had to resort to removing the three anchor screws for the motor mounting plate which is no biggee for anyone facing the same. If you lived close by I would be bringing you a case of beer for saving me $$$ and aggravation. Really appreciate you taking the time to post.

Thank you! For everyone: Just a FYI. My model had 2 pumps. So make sure to replace the correct one. Initially we replaced the wrong one. After realizing we have 2 drain pump we took off the one not working and replaced it with the new one and we are all fixed!!!
We have had this Washer and Dryer by LG since my twins were 6 months old. They are 17 years old now! LG is the way to go!

Hi! What’s the part next to the pump. I replaced the pump and it’s still having the same issue. Not draining and making a grinding like noise. Same error. Any ideas or help?
You might have replaced the recirculating pump.
The one on your left is the drain pump👍
