    Hi Matt,
    Thanks for the great video! I’m also new to Suno, and while I’ve tried all the basic features, I feel that the Suno team could improve the editing capabilities (which they might refer to as "Extend").
    If I had the chance to ask Suno some questions, I’d be interested in learning how to do the following. If these features aren’t available yet, I believe their team is working hard to enhance the app's performance by adding new features every day. Here are the things I’d like to learn or see added to Suno:
    I've watched several Suno tutorial videos, but most of them cover only the basics, which we’ve already figured out. What we really need are advanced tutorials, particularly on editing and other sophisticated features.
    I hope you can create a detailed video that addresses the following requests. If some of these requests aren’t possible yet in the Suno app, I hope we can all provide feedback to encourage Suno to consider developing and improving these features to make the app even better.
    1- Vocal Replacement: After creating a song using the Suno app, I’d like to be able to replace the generated vocals with my own voice. I believe there’s an app called "Replay.ai" that offers this feature. It would be great if Suno could incorporate something similar. I’ve uploaded my voice (up to 60 seconds), but I’m not sure how to replace the Suno vocals after the song is generated.
    2- Key Change: It would be helpful to have the option to change the key of the song after it’s generated, especially since some songs may be too high or low for my vocal range. This feature is similar to what’s available in Karaoke machines or the Moises app.
    3- Vocal Separation: I’d like to be able to separate the lead vocals from the backing vocals. It would be great if we could keep Suno's backing vocals while replacing the lead vocals with our own voice. There should be an option to separate the main vocal track from the backing vocals.
    4- Voice Selection: When choosing between a male or female singer, it would be beneficial to have the option to select a "deep" voice with a low pitch or a high-pitched singer.
    The next feature is not as critical at the moment, as it might be more complex to develop:
    5- Track Editing: It would be amazing if we could view and edit instrument and vocal tracks separately.

    Now, if we can get Suno to recognize 70s and 80s vocals as a prompt. Of the only 17 songs on my YT channel, there were literally hundreds of rejected songs. Just wanting a non-autotuned, non-modern vocal. It works well with like 50s and 40s, sometimes 60s vocals work well, but Suno doesn't seem to recognize "70s Disco" all too well, and only half the time recognizes 80s vocals. When that update comes out, I'll e all over it ;)

    • @realmattdean
      @realmattdean  22 дні тому

      Haha - ya, it’s tough on the specifics for a lot of these. We’re all trying to figure out what (if any) prompts work that give us more control over the vocal and the instruments. It’s pretty hit and miss at the moment. But it’s soooo new. I’m betting we’ll have all of that in the coming 6 months to a year.

      Use the prompt post-punk or synth wave and Suno will give you 80s style vocals. I haven't found a solution for 70s or disco. You could try using "Classic 70s" in the style prompt. Also, remember with prompts, you need to capitalize the first letter of each word in the prompt or Suno will skip it altogether.

    How do you get a new version of a song without losing everything you like about the previous version? Like I get a great voice with the right timing and phrasing for my original lyrics and audio sample but maybe the bridge or third verse has some issues. How do I re-roll the dice to get a new version but keep the same voice? Because the next one might have a voice I’m not crazy about or the timing is all wrong. And I would love to be able to completely block that Zoltan(Five Finger Death Punch) singer because that’s never going to be the kind of rock/metal I’m going for and he comes up way too often and I hear it in your song here too 😂

      You use the extend function to make corrections. If the problem area was at 1:12 in the song, then start the extension at 1:12. You’ll only get 2 minutes… but you can do another 1 min extension after that. Also you can use as a patch in an area that needs fixed and stick the song back together in separate audio software.

    • @realmattdean
      @realmattdean  24 дні тому

      oh boy - that's a really great question. That doesn't seem to exist yet. My guess (and I may be wrong) is that the music being generated is based on sampling rather than actually building up the music from instruments and chords like a normal musician would. This seems to be why it's impossible to get consistency or good breakdowns into selected instruments or why when you tell it "Guitar ballad" it does a piano instead. as long as it's only sampling, it'll never be able to be as specific as all of us want it to be. I think they would have done better training individual instruments on music theory and chord progression so that we can pick and chose what is needed for each song. But alas - this is what we have to work with for now!

      @realmattdean  Місяць тому +1

      Interesting. I haven’t seen that. I’m sure this case is going to change a lot. I would bet these models were not just trained on stock music. There isn’t enough variety that can be prompted. • @MrVidification
      @MrVidification Місяць тому +1

      @@realmattdean On the official RIAA they point to the case and their eight examples of using real works. Some have been removed. Part of the problem seems to be also the users themselves, naming their songs 'mariah carey' or 'you shake my nerves and you rattle my brain' sounding like jerry lee lewis (sounds like his real voice) or in just using copyrighted lyrics within their work. Some of the riaa reasoning from the court paper I can agree with, but I think labels just want to control and create their own AI output in future to survive. Alot of what is mentioned about AI work clogging up the market isn't a great thing with art in general but the industry may not survive without taking part. I wonder whether real artists will have a say as to whether their voice can be used and sold as AI, or if it will be eventually part of all future contracts

    • @realmattdean
      @realmattdean  Місяць тому +1

      @@MrVidification It's a real mess and our government is still trying to get things right from back in the 1980s. they have no chance in getting this stuff right with ai. Artists are not compensated for what they do. Whether it's on Spotify, or Netflix or ai - the ONLY way it seems to get any compensation is to create and maintain your own audience and platform and that just isn't doable for most people. The tools we have are amazing - but what this will look like in 5 years - I don't know. Other than what ever monetization is available, the corporations will find a way tot control it. Still - we're going to keep trying.
