They have to create display that withstands folding unfolding within warranty period, not to mention it's long way to go to create foldable display that unfolds into perfectly flat surface.

Theres a controller mod for motorolla phones that have joysticks on the side etc would work better than another screen eating more battery and what-not if you just want it for controls.

You can go big with your media content, tablet-style, or multi-task. I'm super into this concept, and my Galaxy s8 screen broke today. This seems like a much more badass way to spend 600 bucks. Not to mention that 20 mp dual-function camera?! I'd be awesome to play DS or 3DS emulators with this. It's not 3D, but I'd be equal to a 2DS, but with much higher resolution screens (not that the game resolution will improve though).
Apparently Samsung is going to do the same thing for their up coming note but the displays will be connected thanks to a "plastic muscle" they developed that can bend without distorting the screen.

I️ work at AT&T and ZTE phones are some of the slowest phones I’ve seen in my life, the design looks good for DS emulators but believe me but there’s no way in hell its powerful enough to emulate even regular DS games much less 3DS

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and up may also break both the front and the back. So does the iPhone 8 and X. Also, if 1 screen cracks, you still have the other screen. ;)
Actually the first phone with a dual screen was introduced by Kyocera, this being the Echo with Sprint. A little bit slow and lacking a front view camera, but overall it was an innovative phone for its time.
One thing that I do not get with this design: Why would the screen close outwards instead of inwards? Wouldn't it offer more protection that way and avoid damage?

I don't mind the price, if it's both functional and durable, but I absolutely cannot justify getting something that dies almost instantly. I may have to start looking at blackberries, nokias or any type of smartphone that has more durability and protection P: Heck, Motorola is making the RAZR which looks really good but I can't wait until then to get a new phone. (I've had a few in my lifetime and for the first time, I've dropped and broke my phone of nearly 6 years, being a Samsung Galaxy S5. One thing that I do not get with this design:
Why would the screen close outwards instead of inwards? Wouldn't it offer more protection that way and avoid damage?

@@nomperfect They should have it shut like an NDS and that would reduce the problem seen with things getting under the screen, due to the way it opens and shuts now and focus on the case being more tough.
I don't mind the price, if it's both functional and durable, but I absolutely cannot justify getting something that dies almost instantly.

Tyler Hebel here's your answer: cases will be modeled as needed, not the other way around. If you don't want fingerprints on your screen, don't touch it or implement a matte protective film.
