Let’s be honest, when are they NOT mad at SEGA? This is just a normal Thursday. However, this time it is kinda justified, like why can’t we get it on PC?? And I honestly agree, trying to get Sonic DLC is like a freaking ARG. Their methods are really weird and pretty annoying. Instead of just giving us the DLC, they’re like “you can have this skin BUTTTT you have to travel to China and go to three Kroger stores and buy everything they have” …and nobody has the time for that. *BUT of all skins to get mad about, the Amy one is an overreaction. Just sign up to get it. A lot of people legitimately wanted to play a Sonic basketball game, and Sega had planned to make one for the 32X that would have been similar to Tiny Toon Adventures: ACME All-Stars on the Sega Genesis, but with Sega characters like Sonic, Tails, and Ristar the Shooting Star. The game was scrapped due to the 32X's commercial failure, but Sega has revisited the concept of crossover games with the Sega Superstars games. I started a petition to make Sega Superstars Sports happen, and it has eight signatures as of this writing.
I do think this is a genuine problem. I know these are just skins that have no effect on the gameplay whatsoever, but people would still like to have them because of how cool they look. I don't think everything has to be locked behind a certain region, subscription, or an extra price tag. I understand that SEGA is a business that's trying to make money wherever they can, but it's gotten out of hand at this point.

Yeah, I got super worried when I heard about the Amy IHOP skin, since it was giving me Kroger PTSD, and there isn’t a Kroger anywhere near where I live, but thankfully it wasn’t too bad. There’s an IHOP in town, so I figured I’d try the one of the Sonic promotional meals, anyway. I mean, this is coming from a guy who literally ordered Sonic Superstars from the UK and shipped it to the USA because I wanted to avoid dealing with Kroger in any way. (Since the UK and Japan got the comic skins as pre-order bonuses from Amazon.) But I sincerely hope they call it with these special skins already. As a completionist, it’s an absolute nightmare keeping up with all these Sonic Superstars promotions. They’re cute, but at some point it’s going to be too much. What’s next? A special conductor Sonic outfit only for people who attended a Sonic Symphony? Talk about severely limiting your player base. In any case, here’s hoping that’s the last of the promotional outfits you can only get via methods outside of the digital storefronts. (Also, quick correction with Super Sonic in Sonic Forces. He was always free, but SEGA originally said he was going to be free for a limited time. But, the backlash was great enough that they backtracked on it and kept him free indefinitely. So, no one should’ve ever had to pay for it if I remember correctly.) (Also, ANOTHER correction, Sonic Lost World on the Wii U also has the Nightmare Zone. The PC version just doesn’t have the two Nintendo stages for obvious reasons, that being the Yoshi and Zelda levels. I’m pretty sure the Nightmare Zone stage was a preorder bonus for Sonic Lost World on Wii U, though.)

First off, I didn't realize muzzle curve discourse was a thing. I was fairly certain I was the only person with an issue with the muzzle curve thing. And even then, it wasn't a serious issue. I, as an artist, just think it looks better a certain way and that being changed, along with the sum of many other minor downgrades, have, overall, made Sonic's design less striking. That's pretty valid. lol But also, introducing this video like "Oh boy the stupid Sonic fanbase is mad about something stupid again" vibes is kinda weird because then you talk about why they're mad at not only does it make sense, but you agree with it. lol I think the topic and the way it was introduced are 2 clashing tones and in the future it'd be best to leave that first tone for a video when fans decide to complain about something more mind numbing. I’m kind of mad about it, because the fact that it’s not on all the consoles that the game was released on. PC gamers are screwed over! I have a Switch, but I will not be buying the skin. The issue is that sometimes they have some of the coolest dlc ideas but with the dumbest catches. I remember I got so excited for Origins but then I instantly forgot about it after all the news came out about the crappy DLC.
The IHOP campaign was lazy. Just renamed normal menu items and the staff (maybe just our waitress) was uninformed about it. Couldn't even get the item I wanted because "it wasn't in the system" or something
Can't get the SOAP shoes in Frontiers, so when I play SA2 I turn on trial sonic. If I can't play them in the newer game, I don't want to play them in the older one
The way he mispronounced Kurone's name, being my absolute favorite vtuber I was definitely pumped how her dlc was exclusive to Japan, and the worst part is despite making that dlc partially to sweeten her to play the game she stopped playing halfway through Ares Island despite being both a big Sonic and Knuckles fan. Also, to make the wound worse, the soap shoes are available for free in Japan... I had to sign up to SEGA to get a special code and I missed out on the cartoon skins in Superstars because I don't live in the US, for real US users are spoiled.
Personally I don't care about these skins but if this sort of stuff keeps happening I have no doubt that it will become a major problem. Also I didn't realise that Dream Team was an official game. Not that I have a single Apple product to play it on.
@@AxionGaming2139 yep each character had 4 costumes each you could unlock by just playing and doing things in game and you could use them during replays of the story and multiplayer. Look up sonic rivals 2 costumes on Google metal sonic had a 3.0 costume and knuckles had eggmans suit on its pretty cool. It was a game for the psp.
@@AxionGaming2139 yep in rivals 1 and 2 you unlocked cards and you could unlock cool alternative skins while completing the story. If I remember correctly in 2 metal sonic had a cool 3.0 skin. It's been a while tho and it had 1v1 multiplayer.

I had to pay $70 for Superstars, pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition for $60 then paid $10 for the dlc, which was difficult to buy because of how SEGA hid it in the game, it is literally easier and cheaper to buy the physical version.
Yeah I live in Spain and theres no way I can get the IHOP skin, however its not a big deal for me because I don't really enjoy Amy in superstars that much and I have her Modern design. I do really miss the comic book skins though, I wish I could've gotten them. Good thing I got the Soap shoes tho. Also I got the game for the equivalent of $35 because I got it on sale 2 months after launch, and overall I liked the game despite my problems. I think Sega should try to focus on availability a bit more like with Dream Team for example. However I don't really care about what Sonic Twitter is sad about because they're really emotionally immature overall and I stopped paying attention to them about 4 years ago.

I mean, this is coming from a guy who literally ordered Sonic Superstars from the UK and shipped it to the USA because I wanted to avoid dealing with Kroger in any way. (Since the UK and Japan got the comic skins as pre-order bonuses from Amazon.)
But I sincerely hope they call it with these special skins already. As a completionist, it’s an absolute nightmare keeping up with all these Sonic Superstars promotions. They’re cute, but at some point it’s going to be too much. What’s next? A special conductor Sonic outfit only for people who attended a Sonic Symphony? Talk about severely limiting your player base. In any case, here’s hoping that’s the last of the promotional outfits you can only get via methods outside of the digital storefronts.
(Also, quick correction with Super Sonic in Sonic Forces. He was always free, but SEGA originally said he was going to be free for a limited time. But, the backlash was great enough that they backtracked on it and kept him free indefinitely. So, no one should’ve ever had to pay for it if I remember correctly.)
(Also, ANOTHER correction, Sonic Lost World on the Wii U also has the Nightmare Zone. The PC version just doesn’t have the two Nintendo stages for obvious reasons, that being the Yoshi and Zelda levels. I’m pretty sure the Nightmare Zone stage was a preorder bonus for Sonic Lost World on Wii U, though.)

You got that bit wrong, the Nightmare Nights DLC was also avaliable for the WIiU, but you could only play it once.
First off, I didn't realize muzzle curve discourse was a thing. I was fairly certain I was the only person with an issue with the muzzle curve thing. And even then, it wasn't a serious issue. I, as an artist, just think it looks better a certain way and that being changed, along with the sum of many other minor downgrades, have, overall, made Sonic's design less striking. That's pretty valid. lol
But also, introducing this video like "Oh boy the stupid Sonic fanbase is mad about something stupid again" vibes is kinda weird because then you talk about why they're mad at not only does it make sense, but you agree with it. lol
I think the topic and the way it was introduced are 2 clashing tones and in the future it'd be best to leave that first tone for a video when fans decide to complain about something more mind numbing. And for something like this a "Yeah fans like to complain a lot, but SOMETIMES there's merit to those complaints" type of intro would probably have fit better imo but hey. You're the YT celeb and I end up watching your videos so I guess I shouldn't dispute your tactics too much. lol

The issue is that sometimes they have some of the coolest dlc ideas but with the dumbest catches. I remember I got so excited for Origins but then I instantly forgot about it after all the news came out about the crappy DLC.

The way he mispronounced Kurone's name, being my absolute favorite vtuber I was definitely pumped how her dlc was exclusive to Japan, and the worst part is despite making that dlc partially to sweeten her to play the game she stopped playing halfway through Ares Island despite being both a big Sonic and Knuckles fan.
Also, to make the wound worse, the soap shoes are available for free in Japan... I had to sign up to SEGA to get a special code and I missed out on the cartoon skins in Superstars because I don't live in the US, for real US users are spoiled.

@@AxionGaming2139 yep each character had 4 costumes each you could unlock by just playing and doing things in game and you could use them during replays of the story and multiplayer. Look up sonic rivals 2 costumes on Google metal sonic had a 3.0 costume and knuckles had eggmans suit on its pretty cool. It was a game for the psp.
@@AxionGaming2139 yep in rivals 1 and 2 you unlocked cards and you could unlock cool alternative skins while completing the story. If I remember correctly in 2 metal sonic had a cool 3.0 skin. It's been a while tho and it had 1v1 multiplayer.

I had to pay $70 for Superstars, pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition for $60 then paid $10 for the dlc, which was difficult to buy because of how SEGA hid it in the game, it is literally easier and cheaper to buy the physical version.

Yeah I live in Spain and theres no way I can get the IHOP skin, however its not a big deal for me because I don't really enjoy Amy in superstars that much and I have her Modern design. I do really miss the comic book skins though, I wish I could've gotten them. Good thing I got the Soap shoes tho.
Also I got the game for the equivalent of $35 because I got it on sale 2 months after launch, and overall I liked the game despite my problems. I think Sega should try to focus on availability a bit more like with Dream Team for example.
However I don't really care about what Sonic Twitter is sad about because they're really emotionally immature overall and I stopped paying attention to them about 4 years ago.
