I'm seeing a lot of similarities in Dougs reaction to this as to when my dog passed. It sucks that they did pass, but they where old... like *old* old. The fact that it hadn't happened sooner was a miracle, and the fact that it happened peacefully is reassuring. It doesn't make it not suck, but it makes coping with the loss of someone you cared about much easier to deal with
I have a 15 year old dog who nearly died from a stroke five years ago. I've been worried about her dying every year she has lived. This actually makes me feel better. I got 5 additional years with my childhood dog, and it is something to be celebrated. The way you further explained what Dough said actually changed my perspective on how I respond to death. It will be horrible, but she lived when even the vets thought she would die. I have more time with the one I love. I wish you the best and I hope your dog is receiving all the biscuits and treats they deserve in heaven.
I do think it's wonderful that Doug stresses the importance that he and his fanbase continue raising funds for Monterey Bay Aquarium altogether instead of just ceasing after Rosa's passing. You can hear how much he supports the good work they do every time he mentions them in earnest

Considering the fact that the idea of divorce has captivated the doudoug crowd for years, it’s safe to assume we can latch onto the bone worm thing and never let go.
I'm pretty sure the obsession with Rosa started as a silly bit, before spanning multiple years and raising $500,000 for the aquarium she stayed at. Wouldn't surprise me if the next obsession is either the bone worm or Rosa's children.
Something which really bothered me that I saw was a comment on Rosa's memorial video saying "Wow, it's so incredible that you were able to say so much about her and not mention Dougdoug!" This isn't about Doug, come on guys!
