Mario Kart is one of the best franchises, and it has one of the most notable soundtracks overall. Each one having its own unique rainbow road track that consistently stays true to the original, while still being atmospheric in its own way

I couldn’t believe out of all the RR themes the last 30 years, Brian Tyler picked the first, and my favorite for the movie! 🌈 It’s in the theme “Buckle Up” on the soundtrack, btdubs. 🙂💖
I love how this one sounds, but i think Mario Kart 7's is the definitive version. MK8 ruined not only the track but the theme too. I mean, both things are still good, but as the user above said, the feel isn't the same. I even think Super Circuit's version is better than 8's, and while that game has amazing music, they didn't put any care in the SNES renditions probably because lack of time
i love SNES rainbow road. you finally play through all 3 of the cups, getting better and better at the game, and then you see a new thing on your screen: the special cup. you see the usual tracks with extra numbers, and then at the end you see one last track: Rainbow Road. you’ve never seen it before. it doesn’t have numbers like the rest. what is it? you play through the grueling mess that is the SMK special cup, and you’re suddenly in space, on a psychedelic loop with no walls and extremely tight turns. this music that’s like nothing else in the entire game, this whining, dissonant, spacey melody on this track that’s like nothing else. it’s magical. and then the best part of the song kicks in, and you remember everything you’ve done to get to that point, and you realize that this is it. no course has ever really replicated that feeling. and now with let’s plays, walkthroughs, game forums, and leaks, i don’t know if we can ever capture that feeling again.

Rolling then into position as the custom built track lights up, seating packed beyond even the optimistic capacity design, everyone and their families ready and enthused to witness the best of the best unite for one ultimate challenge, winner take all.
I have only played a few Mario Kart games, but this song is my favorite among them (not just my favorite Rainbow Road theme, but my favorite Mario Kart music period). It perfectly captures the climactic feel that the last course of the game should have.
