I remember a couple weeks ago Kyle talking about his chatter bait trailer was an aluminum flake trailer that he rig sideways can’t wait to try that but I also like Randy‘s tip with coloring portions of the chatter bait I just got all my Dyes and markers to color up the parts of a trailer or blades keep the videos coming guys great job from all .
Yes! You get to hear different perspectives and learn a lot from each angler. I myself enjoy putting this together and hearing these guys tips myself - Jimi.
Good info, especially liked Randy's discussion of color for the blade and looking to mimic crawdad colors, not shad colors. Looking forward to trying this in a week or so on Grand lake !!
Liked all the tips hard to pick the best. The color tip was one I didnt think about so I will be using it and the angle of fall this spring very soon. I already am a firm believer in the bump the stump so to speak.
Appreciate the "fall" of the bait. Trailers are always confusing due to all of the options. Also, great info on the blades. Thank you very much for sharing.
I really like throwing a bladed jig in the spring. As that water temp comes up, it's a big confidence bait for me. That orange and red color gets 'em every time!
I'm fishing this upcoming weekend and got some great tips from this video. Planning to use more of a crawfish pattern now with a bumping or yo-yo retrieve. Thanks Declassified Team.
Awesome detail. Trailers and actions they create. Colors for spring and pre-spawn. And how to create bites putting it all together. These guys are on point every time. Glad to be a part of this channel!
I didn't realize that the change of speed (bumping or reel twitch) actually changed the baits direction momentarily. That info is why Matt's tip was the top one for me this week. Thanks, all great tips.
There is a dye for metal that can be put on with a brush. There are also stickers cut out the shape of chatterbait blades. Both go on and last better than nail polish.
I haven't gotten any bites these last two weeks, been using shad colors shallow. Will swap to crawfish colors and see how that works, thank you all for the tips!
I really like the format of this channel. I've had a lot of luck fishing low light windy conditions with chatterbaits. Is a style of chatterbait as effective in bright, calm, clear water conditions?
This can depend on the cover and region of the country. If you have a lake with a lot of submerged grass then you can keep the chatterbait on the deck. For me in the south, I will still fish it in stain to muddy water and have success. - Jimi
Varied retrieve helps too. Reel fast 2 seconds then 2 seconds slow or moderate pause 3 to 5 seconds let it fall. Also using a wooly bug trailer that's wide an flat helps when fishing around brush tree branches an small trees coming from the water.
Depending on the cover and water clarity. If your lake has a big break population and is stained then it can be a good option. Black n blue can work in clear water as well with the right cover presence and wind. Thanks for watching!
Matt Stefan want HMX blank are you using for chatter baits? I’m going to have a custom rod made for chatter baits and looking for something in a 7’4” composite rod. I’m fishing heavy hydrilla in Florida and appreciate any help you can provide I’m running braid to leader
OK I’m confused the way he showing it is the blade is down and not up. Is the blade supposed to be down facing down like that or is it supposed to be facing up above the Hook to vibrate?
Bit confused on this video... normally tips vary by region, this was 3 guys talking different aspects of the same lure. One sounds like bluegill retrieve, with baitfish style trailer with Craw colors... kinda conflicting info here... I didn't ever think about the fall with chatterbaits though, with jigs, trigs, etc it's common to consider, so gotta remember that aspect.
I've oftentimes heard that using a boot tail trailer on a chatter bait is not good because it affects the action given off by the blade. That is unless you fish the boot tail upside down or cut it right in front of the boot tail itself. What say you?
So Randy’s piece is very confusing to me ! So a lipless and all the white chatterbaits that smash fish in prespawn aren’t effective? Only craw style ???
They do catch fish, he even said he knows the shad pattern does catch fish. He is just sharing how in his area of the country how the craw colors are very effective in the pre spawn period. I have lakes in the areas that I live where the red / craw colors are a lot better in the pre spawn then the shad colors. Each lake can be different and have their own personality. Thanks for watching - Jimi
Honestly, the first reason bass will follow your lure is because they're wondering why prey isn't running away from them. If they're not following, they weren't interested in the first place.
Fishing UA-camrs all regurgitate the same info nowadays. Not anyone’s fault but let’s be honest you can learn all the techniques and info in a short time so now everyone is an expert
You guys need to get on the same page about trailers. On e guy says one thing and another guy says something else. It honestly makes this site look like you don’t know what you are talking about. It confusing to new folks wanting to fish these baits and would probably send them somewhere else. Just an FYI.
We have had more positive replies about the different approaches then negative. Sorry to confuse you. Just to show you how anglers from different regions of the country have success. Thank you for watching.
You idiot. There are very few hard and fast rules to fishing. There are so many variables to lure selection and use that would make your newbie head spin. How about you hush up and listen to what these guys that fish for a living have to say.
I’ve never heard anyone talk about the falling action of a chatterbait… I learned from a lot from Matt and Miles, thank you
Great! Thank you for sharing

Sweet! Good luck!
Thanks I really like Randy's take on bladed jig color and blade color. Excellent information as always.
Thanks for sharing!
I love chatterbait fishing y’all! Thank you for the juice🎣
Glad you enjoyed!
Liked all the tips hard to pick the best. The color tip was one I didnt think about so I will be using it and the angle of fall this spring very soon. I already am a firm believer in the bump the stump so to speak.
Nice! Thank you for sharing
My favorite tip was from Randy I liked what matt and miles gave us to but that tip that randy gave was a key tip god bless you and your families.
Thanks Michael!
Very good tips from everyone. Now just have to go and apply them.
Appreciate the "fall" of the bait. Trailers are always confusing due to all of the options. Also, great info on the blades. Thank you very much for sharing.
Thanks Chris!
love the explanation about using craw patterns / colors in the spring time and the reason for it
Sweet! Thanks for sharing.
Great content as usual. I especially liked Matt's advise on the bump and run technique. I'm looking forward to adding it into my chatterbait routine.
Sweet! Thanks for watching.

Yes sir!
I'm fishing this upcoming weekend and got some great tips from this video. Planning to use more of a crawfish pattern now with a bumping or yo-yo retrieve. Thanks Declassified Team.
Thanks Stephen!
Thanks to all of the guys ,but Randy's was the most helpful.
Sweet!
Awesome detail. Trailers and actions they create. Colors for spring and pre-spawn. And how to create bites putting it all together. These guys are on point every time. Glad to be a part of this channel!
Appreciate the words Steve!!
These are some juicy tips that I'm definitely gonna try this weekend on ky lake.
Sweet! Thank you for watching. Good luck!

Appreciate it!
Great info guys. Will be using some of these tips for my tourny on Ouachita this weekend.
Good luck!
Awesome video as always. Thanks guys for the great information. Trying this tomorrow.
Appreciate it! Good luck!
Lot of good tips on how to fish the chatterbaits
Thanks John!
Just when I thought I knew everything about chatterbaits!! Excellent tips! Thanks to all 3 of these guys for sharing their knowledge!
Appreciate it!
Thanks for the tips, can’t wait to try them. Especially like the different types of trailers.
Thanks Harold!
Nice. I got into Chatterbait heavy from a trip to Texoma skipping docks. I take it to Hamilton now and do decent.
I will say… they catch big fish at Hamilton - Jimi.
Thanks again guys for another great lesson
Appreciate it!
Thanks for the bump and run technic.
Your welcome!
Will be bumpin and runnin soon!!! Great tips as usual!!
Thanks Mike!
All three tips where very good tips and information thanks to everyone I do like the tips Matt had better thanks again and good fishing 🎣
Thanks Robert!
I'm fishing a chatterbait tomorrow because of this video. Bump and run here I come.

Yes!! I needed this, thank you so much.
Great video and insightful tips.
Thanks!
Lots of good information. Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it!
Another great video with several good tips! Thanks, guys!
Appreciate it Rob! Thank you for watching.
Great tips, many thanks.
Appreciate it Oscar!
Randy's tip was great, I am going to feel a little weird stocking up on nail polish, but it's 2023! 😂
Funny!
Good luck! This time of year the bass in certain lakes will really key in on crawfish. Hope this works out for you.
Miles Burghoff jointed swim bait "do nothin" trailer and why its important is great.
Thanks Tim!
My favorite part of the segment was Randy Blauket’s explanation of how he chooses color.
Thanks Jay!

Thanks!
Great video. I enjoyed the color tip. Helps to know what color to throw and when. Curious on what weight of chatterbait you would recommend.
Thanks appreciate it!
I won a team tournament last Saturday fishing a chatter bait in 43 degree water dragging the bottom in 7 to 15 feet of water.
Nice!!
Great information. Under what conditions would you recommend throwing a black and blue chatterbait?
Depending on the cover and water clarity. If your lake has a big break population and is stained then it can be a good option. Black n blue can work in clear water as well with the right cover presence and wind. Thanks for watching!
All very good information.... Anyone use braid for their main line?
If around a lot of grass.
Matt Stefan want HMX blank are you using for chatter baits? I’m going to have a custom rod made for chatter baits and looking for something in a 7’4” composite rod. I’m fishing heavy hydrilla in Florida and appreciate any help you can provide I’m running braid to leader
MHX CB907 blank. You will love it! - Matt.
OK I’m confused the way he showing it is the blade is down and not up. Is the blade supposed to be down facing down like that or is it supposed to be facing up above the Hook to vibrate?
Yes the blade will be up.
Is that bump and run kinda like a drive by shooting?
No, not any bullets fired here. Just a chatterbait bumping/ reflecting off of pieces of cover to trigger bites.
Great diversity of info. You really make us think about techniques. Thank you
Appreciate it!

Sorry for confusion. Some of our videos will have tips from different anglers on a technique.

Having it upside down does give it a unique action for sure! Each angler has their preference on using boot style or not.

@@BassFishingDeclassified thank you
People get mad when you hit their dock post, lol
Funny how they all have different views on trailers.
One reason we have this channel. So you can get different perspectives!
If you put the swimbait upside down works better. Maybe you guys should watch tactical bassin lol
In our other bladed jig video we had one of our members talk about this. We cant share all the tricks/tips in one video.
👍👍👍👍👍
Appreciate it William!

UA-cam has changed the game for any topic for sure but for fishing...the best way to get better is still to go fish / have time on the water.
You guys need to get on the same page about trailers. On e guy says one thing and another guy says something else. It honestly makes this site look like you don’t know what you are talking about. Red label??? What??? 🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
It catches fish!
