You can also down b backwards before the up b for lag time in the air. Was sad at that one cause it could've been done easily xD. Oh well. I'm sure the uploader can't try everything seeing as it probably takes forever to make one of these videos with every character to begin with

I already knew how Wario was going to do it. Still, it's always a treat and makes me laugh when he cheeses the challenge with his bike. Even the latter case involved him going about halfway with the bike and the initial jump off of said bike. The taunt while on the bike made the part all the more hilarious. This definitely fits his character.

The thing is. He has a billion ways to recover. And non of them other than rising tackle leave him on free fall(although crack shoot does leave you inactionable for a few seconds) and because of that he can just chain them together for one completely useless and overcomplicated recovery. Because he can just make it back to stage with just 2 of them

I think you can get the most out of cloud by having charge near full do a full double jump then charge your limiter to pull off an up B for max distance
Yoshi goes far with his flutter jump. So it's obvious he could make the diagonal jump to the other platform with ease. Kirby, Luigi, and Banjo Kazooie also get there with their special abilities.
Shadow Ball doesn't help Mewtwo, that's a myth. As Prowder did in the video, using side b is Mewtwo's best method for covering large distances. Although Prowder could have timed the second side b a little better for a better result.

I like how people actively forget Marth and lucina both have a neutral b; that when used mid-air allows them to get a speed boost at full charge and can be used more than once.
I'd like to see a comparison to an uphill lava diagonal - maybe a comparison tier list of how much worse each character performs uphill compared to downhill (since no character is going to be BETTER uphill, but at best performs the same). It would also require some different strategies, like Pikachu/Pichu wouldn't be able to take advantage of Skull Bash as much.
Marth and Lucina’s side Bs do give them extra vertical distance, but they also lose a lot of horizontal velocity. In challenges like these where horizontal movement is preferred over vertical, it should be better to do this without using their side Bs. either that, or at least do it with one and not with the other. In the words of Ludvix, “This ain’t Melee” lol Another small tip, avoid air dodging at the peak of a double jump. Air dodging cancels vertical velocity, and at the peak of the jump, that velocity is zero. It’s better to let them keep moving horizontally with a smaller vertical momentum for a little bit and to airdodge once they reach their full falling speed, which is once their trajectory turns into a straight line instead of a curve. Cool stuff as always, Prowder!
Their Side Special moves reduces some horizontal momentum, not a lot. If you quickly midair jump or air dodge straight after their Side Special moves, they will go further than their optimal jumps. Using their Side Special moves during any optimal jump was useful in Brawl as well, until that changed in Smash 4 of course. Also, air dodging during their top falling speed seems pointless, unless you're referring to Chrom, Pyra and all those who can air dodge at the end of their recovery moves. For characters like Mario, Donkey Kong, Shulk, etc., air dodging at the peak of their midair jumps sends them further than their optimal jumps.
An idea : A challenge who only the twelve first characters of Smash can win ! Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Luigi, C.Falcon, Ness and Jigglypuff... Good luck, i challenge you because this challenge is impossible
I know right, I feel like wii fit could have made it to 5 with deep breathing and side b while doc using down b before jumping would result in him making it to 3, and that’s just the two I noticed… beyond Sephiroth potentially using his jumps better.
@@Alterion57 Deep Breathing not only increases horizontal move speed, it increases gravity & falling speed as well, which is why we don't use it for recovery.
Marth and Lucina might have actually been able to make it if they used Shield Breaker (Edit) because shield breaker launches them forward if they hold it all the way down and are in the air

They're definitely designed to used more fluidly than marth and the marth-adjacents, since Corrin's moveset tends tends to throw themselves around quite a in comparison. I main Corrin and Byleth (and King K and FE Roy occasionally), and seeing Byleth perform so poorly was... expected.
As a mii gunner main, I'm obligated to be annoying and say you could have at least used the upb that lets them travel horizontally..
