The one thing that most simulator pilots are not going to be ready for is the physiological aspects of the landing. As earthbound people we are used to 2 axis of movement. When you add that 3rd axis of movement your body doesn't have a reference point for that, so you have to learn the feel. The one thing that is always missing in the "Can a sim pilot land the real thing" debate is that the test always begins with the aircraft stabilized on final approach in perfect weather. Let's run the test say from top of descent. The crew has just fallen ill and you have reported to the cockpit. Let's also assume that you cannot work the radios, so you cannot rely on ATC for help. Alternatively, you could begin the test at 2500' with extending landing gear, then add in a cross wind, such as landing on runway 36, wind is 060 at 20, gusting 30. visibility 3/4 mile.
I would love to see, and even participate in the "Can a simulator pilot land the actual thing?" video. Your videos are so inspirational to me, keep up the good work!
I talked to a Bundeswehr recuter once and he told me that going into the airforce just to get a pilot licence is not good. Like you said you have to stay there for 13 years i think and you have to do the basic training on a weapon and you need to learn how to be a solider. So its not a really good option in my opinion
Another informative and entertaining video, thanks guys! Great editing too, Adam! Thanks for the time and energy you guys put in this channel, definitely one of the best on youtube 💥
Enjoyed watching this Q&A. Short haul certainly allows for a better family life. Military deploys last months, so you made the right decision going the civilian route. I enjoy your youthful enthusiasm.
Hi Pascal, quick question, would you say that pilots who do integrated flight training have a higher chance of employment compared to those who did modular training? Do they climb the ranks quicker also? I am wondering as I know that modular training is a cheaper route to the ATPL and I cannot see any real disadvantage other than time. Excellent video as always, thanks.
It’s not always 3 minutes. Sometimes the pilot has to switch on the APU before turning the engines off. Because if they don’t all the systems in the plane shut down immediately. If not the APU, they waiting for the ground staff to connect external power.
Thanks for the video Pascal! About the UV-radiation, I heard that the windows block the waves that are responsible for sunburn but not the ones that cause skin-cancer (UVA if I am not wrong). So we should always wear sunscreen :)
Hey guys! Quick question… Can one attend the European Flight Academy with already existing PPL? Does one have to go through the whole process again or they can just skip that part?
I’m living in Brazil but I’m from France, it’s better to me to make my flight training here or in the US/EU? And if it’s better to me to make here, I directly apply for an US/EU airline or it’s better to apply for an Brazilian airline, accumulate flight hours and after that apply to an US/EU airline
I'm not quite sure you remember me, but I commented your videos before. It's really good to see your channel growing, when I was subscribing it was 4k or something, now it's more than 40k!!! that's amazing. As always nice video today. 🤍✈

Yup. My first real world landing in the 737 was terrifying 😂😂😂

I love these Q & A's they're informative but also still interesting and brilliant for us pilot geeks

Which is nicer from a pilot perspective? A rolling takeoff or a line up and wait😂😂
As a pilot, a rolling, especially an, "Immediate departure."
Thank you for helping future pilots in their journey as I am part of them

I love the collab between Pascal and Joey
Your videos are as usual inspiring and informational... I absolutely enjoy watching ur content... Keep going... ✨
Thank you for still making a video even though the footage corrupted 🙌✌️
what the rest days depend on? Why does a flight sometimes last 3 days and sometimes more than 4?

Love these videos.😅😅How do you guys do a brake check, and why do you have to wait about 3 minutes before engine shutdown?

Niiiiiice video. Looking forward to the future “Day in the life of a short haul captain” videos😎

Thank you for a good and detailed answer!
Could yoe do the video where the sim pilot gets into a real airline simulator, would be fantastic and informative
I have 1200+ MSFS hours and i already wondered if I could land the real thing. So I would vonunteer for the sim session :)

U can try to make a video with swiss001 to test if a flight simmer can fly the real thing
tbf he does fly planes in real life but not airliners
Hey guys! Quick question…

You still have to go through the whole process
Yes do the sim video
My personal flight instructor. So for you, yoke or stick??
Sehr unterhaltsames und informatives Video!
I like this question and answer board. I'm already watching.😃🇧🇷
about paying for our training what do you think about a 5% interest over 8 years?

13:40 , I feel ashamed having 3700 flight hours on my sim XD
Im from switzerland and preparing for the DLR Test. Someone here, who successfully completed the DLR and would be available to
answer some questions?
Can I be a commercial pilot with one eye having 20/20 vision and my other eye being a little blurry?
U can get glasses
Pascal, why don't you wear your pilot cap?
Haha 😅 thanks for answering my question. Now I know what a FLIEßENLEGER approach looks like 😂👌
Was hat diese landung mit Fliessen zutun?
