This series is one I haven't seen yet. I know I watched the first one but just don't remember it at all. Need to fix that. I have a love for franchises that just keep going for better or worse and with 4 films + 2 US versions, I need to block out some time for these. While I realize US remakes are rarely very good, I'm a fan of dissecting the differences and seeing what they were going for with their intent beyond the language barrier. The big positive about these remakes are they often drive new fans to check out the originals.
@@DonJoeBob That can be true, but I sometimes wonder, as a result of a US remake how many people truly try to discover where it came from, if they even realize it’s a remake of a foreign film at all? As much as a film nerd I am I can’t tell you how often I’m surprised to realize I’m watching a remake of an existing film. Albeit it might be a comedy or drama, but I come to find out that it was actually made way back in the 30s or 40s or even 50s. I just wonder remaking a foreign film, is there really a draw to the original or even if it’s a remake of a pre-existing American film? These are things I just wonder. 🍻
