as someone with generalized anxiety disorder and comorbid OCD myself, it's nice to see someone with that big of a platform speak of it in a non-stigmatizing manner and say that as devastating as the symptoms can be, that our kind of functioning also serves as a gift, in a way. i often call it a blessing and a curse. anyway, her emphasizing that panic attacks aren't just magically solved with the flip of the hat is another thing i'm glad she brought up. i think many people misperceive the manifestations of her anxiety in public (i.e. tik tok comments about her seeming incompetent, stupid, etc.) and of those of us with the disorder in general. it's unfortunate and i hope more discourse like this comes about. as always, she's so articulate, empathetic, and an inspiration to me. love her!
I completely agree!
I can relate in so many ways. I used to play the flute for a couple years in middle school ( am awkward time). Have had panic and anxiety for quite some time and get nervous. Also suffer with anxiety and depression. Dancing helps. 😊💝
It is clear to see director, Yorgos Lanthimos, will become an absolute faVorite amongst the most talented Hollywood procures. 🎉
Poor Things was one of the best films I’ve seen in years. Had no idea what to expect when I rented it. It blew my mind. The story was just wild and Emma Stone was perfectly cast. I’m still thinking about it. A word of warning tho: The video wanted us to know that Tobacco products are used in the film but they never mention the near X-rated scenes.
The movie clearly displays its rating. They most likely needed to include the tobacco disclaimer because there’s tobacco use in this video. I’m glad you enjoyed the movie though :)🍿
How could you not love this movie???
I rented it on UA-cam and the Comments were surprising. Lots of negative reactions. I think for especially prudish people or folks who ascribe to most of the alt-right conspiracies, this film is a nightmare and an insult. But I absolutely loved it!!!!!!
The piece on Ohio earthworks was great! Thanks for the introduction! + Love E. Stone!
His first movie, Dogtooth, is a MUST SEE.
I like the interviewer
Great movie on every level!
I’ll have whatever anxiety she’s having
You don't want it, trust me. That is coming from me who has severe anxiety every day
😂
@@sarahbgln I want the kind of anxiety that makes one a talented, hard working actor and charming, relatable public persona. I guess I have the other kind of anxiety
she has debilitating, diagnosed generalized anxiety and i think people misconstrue her saying that there can be positives to come from the very same disorder she's called "self-imprisonment" due to the negatives (that can be managed but still don't just go away) as "anxiety is 100% the best thing ever" but what she means is for her (and i), those very same thoughts of "well what if this" and "what if that" and "what if i'm not good enough" etc. that aren't pleasant are also what force her to get out and do challenging things because she's talked about being afraid of not being able to act anymore or not improving. to that tune, those same thoughts, while not comfortable, pushed me to study around the clock and helped me achieve a perfect GPA and numerous academic accolades. so she's saying it helps her with an almost innate drive to keep working and that's a positive, not that there are no negatives.
These Oscar campaigns are relentless
I kinda gettin over it, and this isn’t about Emma Stone. The Oppenheimer campaign has been constant, it’s getting too much.
Jules!
Love her!! The movie does not intrigue me whatsoever but I find her very down to earth.
I have never heard of those sites in Ohio!
He should give her a bit more space on couch…
My very first English teacher was Walt Disney, the naughty squirrels Chip & Dale slang bewitched me since I was five years old or maybe less... since then, anything for me becomes another Disneyland entertainment park...it brings luck having fun, enjoying freedom of expression, playing with kids and get back the innocence lost, having imagination in a world of cold blooded adults that try to force us obey their conservative rules and make us live like perfect hostages of an extermination camp, it feels like suffocating... therefore let's turn back to the Disneyland and have fun beyond borders, limits, restrain controlling intentions...God has always the best ideas upon human specie... it's an impossible concept to explain 😢😢😢
Disney is satanic indoctrination
I **love***
If you have not seen Poor Things... find the movie and see it!
Vomit
I love Emma Stone, but I saw the film and it was awful. High budget child p*
It is streaming on Hulu now
@@proudreamYou definitefly didn't watch the movie then
@@LAHockeyMaxx I did. Thought it was pretty disgusting, especially those first sex scenes where she couldn't even talk properly because of the toddler brain.
Hello poor thing emma stone❤❤🎉🎉 haha
EMA,I STRESS WITH PARANORMAL ANGGA
Identify with the winners.
Why does Emma Stone look "trapped" between the arm of the couch and the director?
Because they needed a tight shot where they could capture both of them in the same camera frame
I was stunned by the amount of unnecessary nudity & sex displayed in this movie.
I found it unapologetically honest about how a woman is with her sexuality. It was an enlightening movie- perhaps you need to read more into it beyond surface- level. I encourage you to examine this.
Don't you mean the furious jumping
@@irishflutist17No it wasn’t, actually the film was incredibly shallow & surface level. The “feminism” part of the film has rubbed many female critics the wrong way-it’s been describe as exploitative, misogynistic, and crass. The camera is obsessed w/ Bella’s body while ignoring the real parts of a woman’s anatomy i.e. Menstruation. Her time employed a brothel would have started her off in poverty & syphilis would have hampered her health going forward as well as men being the only real relationships her has. They claim she’s autonomous & blooming, but her interest is only directed inward, not outward to the world-very much a man’s idea of an empowered woman, promiscuous & selfish.
@Fallen616 I consider myself a feminist and disagree on most of your points.
She goes to Lisbon to see more of the world, and then she leaves the ship with her friend (!) for a day to see more of it. Also, she reads loads of books. And also makes a friend/lover on the brothel whom she stays connected with. The whole part about her former life is also VERY strong on the feminist message. Yes, I was also surprised by the amount of sex scenes and I do think the cliche of sexual self-discovery on a brothel is unfortunately brought up. But STDs are addressed in a conversation once she returns to London. And there are some very poignant remarks being made, e.g. the madame explaining that "some men enjoy it when the girl doesn't like it".
No such thing. All the sex and nudity in the film is inherent to Bella's character development. If it takes you out of it then the problem is with you, not with the film.
I thought the Poor Things movie stunk. I was unhappy that Emma Stone won an Oscar.
An overrated movie and an overrated director
This video is not about Oppenheimer.
He. Is disgusting. Gross. Ugh. Isn't that Zelensky? Yurig Zelensky? Like military general Zelensky
This movie sucks!
Anything Emma Stone is in is painful to watch.
Poor things was absolutely vile. I can't believe she did a movie like that.
What a weird thing to say. Why wouldn't she? It's her career-best performance that has elevated her to the highest possible level of critical and popular success.
It was sooo good
@cdedberry What was good about it? It was a ridiculous, absurd, mess.
Yall are so afraid of anything that goes slightly outside the norm
@@shougokawada8491Probably because this guy is a part of some religious outrage
Everyone has anxiety...
Who's good? Ever lie, steal, used God's name as a curse word (O-M-G)? Still think your good? According to God's law, you're guilty. Wait, God loves you, he made a way out. God so loved the world that he gave his son that whoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Do you fear death? Jesus died for you, believe & repent.
This is not a proper place and time to go off topic.
