Trent has always stayed faithful to being direct and not hiding from legitimate questions that are on people's minds. And Trent also knows Ted has good ways to handle the hard situations. Love Trent.
“Ah Trent Crimm, bringing that heat.” I like that subtle inside joke Ted gives to Trent, knowing that both of them most uncomfortably shared the hottest meal either of them have ever had much earlier in their relationship.
After Ted getting bashed by reporters, Trent’s question at face value is kind of a punch to the gut type question. But after the scene finished, I feel Trent knew Ted’s good heartedness and knew that Ted would knock that question out of the park. Just my two cents…carry on.
ever since Trent's interview with Ted, I feel like every one of Trent's questions in a press briefing is an intentional challenge. Trent knows of Ted's good nature and admirable character, but Trent is also a hard-hitting journalist. I feel like he asks the tough questions because he wants to reveal to others the goodness of Ted, but also he wants to challenge Ted because he knows Ted can take it
I like the knowing look on Trent Grimm the Independent’s face after Ted completes his answer to Trent’s question. The Trent/Ted moments are some of the most poignant in the show.
"It's funny, the things in your life that can make you cry, just knowing they existed... and then become the same things that make you cry knowing that they're now gone." The writing on this show is remarkable, and the acting is superb. I don't think there has ever been a better TV series. This scene, and the darts scene, are both absolutely incredible. Kudos to all of the writers, the actors, the producers and every one involved. edit: I just watched this episode again and realized (how did I miss this?) that Ted is not just talking about universal loss, he's also talking specifically about losing his marriage. Man, this show merits multiple re-watching...
This has the same quality writing as legendary shows like The West Wing and Newsroom, the writing is so important but also the delivery, they nailed the actors in this show
The most well written first season of any show. Simply immaculate. Pulls tears, hopes, and cheers. Rooting for the under dog is a long-standing motivator. A simple series can motivate one to become just that. We are all under dogs in life. Life is hard and often incomprehensibly difficult. And then, we overcome! And that is life! That’s what it is about. Happy new year everyone. Stay safe
I put my dog of 14 years down two days ago. I also have been watching Ted Lasso with my dad. The same day I put Major down this episode was our next to watch. The circumstances may be different but the message still rings through. It made my cry but I absolutely needed to hear this
"It's funny, the things in your life that can make you cry, just knowing they existed... and then become the same things that make you cry knowing that they're now gone."......it's not the dog...
I watch this scene every once in awhile for two things the first being Ted's views on life making me feel better and the other is Colin being so hilarious with ignoring the fact that his friend is upset he's more concerned about the lack of hot water.
I love some of the subtleties of this show's writing. Richmond Greyhounds / Earl the dog. I'm on my 3rd adopted racing greyhound as I type, and we owners love fun names. Richmond affectionately named their dog, Earl Grey by implied proxy. I think that's just a greyt reference.
Trent's smirk says it all. He sits back and knows that everyone else is about to see the Ted he's gotten to know.
Trent has always stayed faithful to being direct and not hiding from legitimate questions that are on people's minds. And Trent also knows Ted has good ways to handle the hard situations. Love Trent.
Ted is very good at selling his ideals to the people he works with. I think Trent is the one who enables him to share it with the wider audience.

😂 nice catch, I missed that. Watching them suffer through Indian food was hilarious
Are we sure its not just a baseball reference of a fast ball.
Why not both baseball and Indian food? 😁

My new headcanon
Knowing Trent and how much he admires and respects Ted, this actually seems very plausible, especially when you look at trents smile at ted’s answer.
Ted was talking about his family
Your comment let me know that everything will be okay. Because, you, yourself can be a Ted Lasso
You are absolutely correct. It's like, "Watch this. Watch how wonderful a person Ted is." and Trent lobs him a softball.

I think you’re right in there man
Very yes
"He's going to use up all the hot water." LOL!
Idk why that was fucken hilarious 😂
To be fair, I heard "He's going to use up a lot of water."
...
Which is also true, might I add.
I like the knowing look on Trent Grimm the Independent’s face after Ted completes his answer to Trent’s question. The Trent/Ted moments are some of the most poignant in the show.
One of my favorite points of the series, Rebecca hired Trent to mess up Ted in season 1 and from that they developed an amazing relationship
It’s Crimm
@@shawnbrown9526 He had his name legally changed to Grimm. 😊
@@shawnbrown9526 His name is Trent Grimm from now on

@@Kuzufox idk about the west wing man. That was the best writing ive seen
And his father…Ted can bring in implied correlations, and somehow all of them are relevant and poignant
Yo thx dawg thats the reason im here
This show is so deep and heartwarming. Didn’t know TV could go back to its roots like this where the characters have so many layers.
Well said!
Ted lost some heavy figures in high school; from his dad to the dog he grew to care for. Nice writing.

This is actually S2E1, but I agree completely!
I disagree, although yes it is an amazing first season, I'd have to go with True Detective
Idk Master of None is also extremely well written
@@EthanAlexander91 Then immediately cut to the joke scene with Rojas in the showers. Tonal whiplash.
I love how begrudgingly charmed Trent is by Ted. Lol
Trent loves Ted so much but hides it behind his cool reporter disguise. I hope we get to see more Trent in season 3.
He’s in the office right next door 😁 These two ❤️

Great point I had not caught.
It almost seems like Trent asked that question to put Ted on the hot seat but also to see how Ted would respond, testing his character
Tred, the love affair continues

*runs in,slamming the door open and 👉 👉* Yes, 🙂,yes!
Trent Crimm and Ted Lasso
I'd vote for 'em.
I love that Trent doesn't even take notes here. He just wants to hear what Ted is going to say.
I just put down my dog last weekend. This scene really expresses for me how that feels.
**spoiler alert**
after season 2, you begin to wonder if Ted was talking about the neighbor’s dog….or his dad.
A little of both I suspect.
... and his marriage. Brilliant show.
Trent is hot and so independent.
Trent lobbing him an alley oop
Ted Lasso is the Goat
Coach Beard with the FOH finger
This guy can write and act!
Just a great scene
The reporter was the the young guy working in Alan Partriges hotel. The clubs owner played the nun who was waterboarded by Cerci in GOT.
I was just waiting to finish the show before i stole his speech tyvm XD
The look of Juno Temple at 1:53 justifies the "Don't you Fret Bobba Fett" Comment
People need to focus more on this show and not politics. This show is pure gold
Politics is poison. Philosophy and feeling others thoughts and understanding them is far more important!
0:01"Trent Grimm”…… "THE INDEPENDENT”
Man that started out as such a shit speech and ended as possibly one of the best ones i've ever heard in a tv show or a movie
Why are the audio and video not synced?
FOOTBALL IS DEATH!
Futbol is death?
Futbol is LIFE!!! It is only Danny's defense that is death lol.
It's Roy Walk off. You Are welcome
they ruined this show at the end of season 2.
Sorry, this wasn’t touching. It was greeting card sappiness. Nowhere near as good as S1.
Cool story bro 👍
I was bitten by a dog when I was 11. This hits really different. I felt so seen.
If a reporter asked me a question like that I would not respond kindly.
Ted Lasso is a better man than me...
