Leigh, even if you started doing something random, like exploring haunted houses, we would still watch, haha. Travel footage might be off brand, but it’s still you!
I film all my trips and experiences outside of everyday life and make art inspired by it. I call these little videos "Postcards" because they are like postcard I can send to my friend and revisit whenever nostalgia hits :D
Bleached hair - flawless, radiant, best decision anyone´s made in 2022 thus far. Video format of travel + painting - flawless, radiant, best decision anyone´s made in 2022 thus far.
“making it to the end of the video” like it all wasn’t *quality*. the trip footage, the picture-in-picture where you’re flipping through your mini sketch book, the art, your painting shirt story. loved it 💛. also loving the possibility of a bonsai painting soon
Astoira is one of my all time favorite places and you drove past my grandparent's old house and I teared up a little! I'm driving out there tomorrow. Thanks for the travel vlog!!
"it's not about trying hard, it's just about like doing it... and like ha, doing it and then ha, I mean that's it." - Leigh Thank you for the inspiration, I now no longer have artist block because of these wise words.
I think this is my favourite video you've put out! I just liked seeing your thoughts and process when creating art. and the videos from the trip were amazing!
you talked about going to portland blind and it made me think about how i moved to Portland completely blind to go to school up there. like i knew another, had never been, got my apartment p much blind, and it was such a fun experience. I had no expectations for myself or how it was gonna go, i spent my first month there going to different coffee shops and filling a sketchbook spread, i loved it. the pandemic definitely changed things for me and made it harder to get out, but seeing that you went to the oregon coast, popped into washington, and went around the rose gardens and stuff made me so happy :) I moved back home last year and this video just makes me wanna go back and experience it the pnw again
Loving the short hair. You wear it well. Keep doing you. People do change and that's organic and natural and real. So feel confident to keep flowing with whatever is working for you. This has inspired me to leave the house more and even make travel plans. Keep it coming. Love from Australia 🦘. Rachelle x
i would LOVE to see more "off brand" stuff!! it's real life and i love seeing those parts of any youtuber's life no matter if it's art, lifestyle, or whatever!
Yes Chaco's suck, I love teva's though so much more comfortable! Always cool to see a creator you follow online come to places you live, glad you enjoyed Oregon!
haha I thought your shirt looked like someone tries to make it messier! I did a similar thing to my tool bag because I just started an electrical apprenticeship and my bag looked so green, so I purposefully made it dirtier 😂
Yasssss take me on vacation with you. Also, loving the inspired art. Going to see something and then painting/drawing it exactly is kind of expected, and you would have to make it really unique to lose some of the mundane factor.
i know it's frustrating to not meet your goal on a hike but! the successful hike is the one where you make it home safely :) always better to turn around if you are not prepared. safety first and all that
I am someone who does vlog/art content and travel content - not to quite the same scale - and honestly your travel stuff still feels very 'you', just by virtue of your eye and how you choose to edit things. I do have an idea of doing a self portrait which is "me on my travel vlogs" (where I embrace the Ghibli Vibes and slower edits) to me in Vlogs (far more chaotic). But this was so nice to see, the wonderful friendship vibes and the slower more compositional stuff all put together. And creating art at the end of it that doesn't HAVE to be a landscape or directly from the holiday has been a big inspiration. I'll see if I can do anything like that based on my holiday. Anyway, look forward to seeing more of your travel stuff alongside your regular vids!
Aww, love seeing you on my side of the country. We love Cannon beach. Ecola state park, is stunning. Portland isnt what it used to be, but hope you had a great time.
The slide down the chair due to hunger & the realization that you need to walk home to seek snacks is THE most relatable moment 😂 Also your hair is terrific. Very Annie Lennox vibes ♡
My favourite fish is the green spotted pufferfish (i think that’s the correct name) they are so tiny and cute! I am so in love with your piece! I am glad that travelling is bringing you so much inspiration. It is truly a rejuvenating thing, and I hope you get to travel more in the future! 💚
I would love to see you're daily routines involving daily tasks, health, and meals. I feel like you have a great balanced lifestyle as a creative. I get into 7 hour art cram sessions and then art block. following with my sleep schedule going out the window :-(
I like the idea of the travel vlogs and then the art creation inspired by the trip! I often feel inspired to create but struggle with the create what 🤦🏾♀️ I’m sure it’s overthinking but still I struggle haaaaard.
Leigh PLEASE could you tell me the brand name and color of this periwinkle blue pastel at 28:23 . It is a such a dream, I have been looking for one just like it!!!
I feel so reassured that Chaco's suck now. I got them in men's sizing and they are still too narrow and cause blisters on the sides of my feet. How are they so popular?! They don't even have good enough grip for hiking. I do wish I could dump them as well, but they were so expensive. Thank you for your confirmation on why Chaco's suck.
Leigh, even if you started doing something random, like exploring haunted houses, we would still watch, haha. Travel footage might be off brand, but it’s still you!
Literally going to start a fan account for your hair
I’d follow
This travel vlog+inspo art feels like it could be my fav video and I can’t wait for part 2 :)
Aaaaa thank you 🤠
Love the fresh vibes of this video! Truly one of my favs you've ever made. 💕
Wow thank you 🥺

Really enjoyed this video!💛
So glad you enjoyed the magic of the pnw! It comes through in the footage ✨

I still have my art smock from elementary school too and mine was also my dads 😃

Hi yes, love this style of video and hope to see you travel to more places closer or farther that inspire you to make work and share your experience
This was absolutely beautiful!!!!🤯🤯🤍❤️
sometimes you need a little bit of adventure to get inspired and make new things!!! its part of the art-making process! : )
this interlude is one of the best sunflowers i have ever seen.
stereotypes in art are for loosers.
I just used your code for Pela! I am so excited to get my case!
Me agreeing with you while you’re asking if your composition ideas make sense
its very inspired and cool. thank you for sharing. best wishes. Aiwara
i loved so much this kind of video. you can make more if you feel like.
What paint do you use? Is it acrylic? It just seems to go on so smoothly
I’m using gouache for this painting!
@@LeighEllexson thank you! ill have to use it more :)
Can you add a link for your podcast please? ✨
Какое прекрасное видео💕
Beautiful
💗💗💗
🎀😍🎀
Alright well, fav fish….probably either a koi or some type of butterfly fish.
So chill and thank you for making me want to get off my booty to get an easel
I’m very inspired by some of the film shots you took at the botanical gardens! May I paint your experience?
Please!

I got mine from a sample sale so there were discounted PLUS the discomfort they gave me made them worthless HAHA
I will watch this a lot thanks
Hehe thanks Ricardo
what's the camera you sued in this video? it looks so good. :)
I used my Sony a6400. The Portland footage was taken with a 35mm lens!
@@LeighEllexson thank you so much!
I know this video is old, but do you paint with acrylic in this video or gouache ? So pretty💕
like it.total great uploading~ 🖐
cool art
What do you use for filming if I may ask?
I use a Sony a6400. For the vacation footage I used a 35mm lens
💪🥰
Not my fave but blood-red parrot cichlids are so cute in person, the pics on google dont do em justice😤
I definitely also used to think I had to get messy in order to be a "real artist"
Fave fish is a whale shark and sun fish! Sorry, had to pick two 🙂
Totally acceptable 🎏
I live in Portland!
awesome share wow my friend thanks 👍
more airbender please
Leigh- random one for you.. what do you use to keep your teeth so white?
I think they look whiter in videos than real life BUT I just use dr bronner toothpaste and that’s kinda it
