This is true. The shredders Engi deploys are presumably invincible, and that 2000 damage is essentially the game's way of deactivating them so they aren't on the field for more than a minute.

It's fantastic with team synergies but go actually use it in a lobby with randoms. It's good but not game breaking. I love it and I don't think it should change because there are plenty of broken team strats in the game and I don't think that's a problem
@@Balazs1102_ It has the potential to be broken, but only for having big numbers under very specific situations. It's balanced because it's only good against big enemies, while leaving you even weaker to literally the rest of the game. And those big enemies are not common. Leaving assassination mission, the best and probably only good target would be the bulk, and focusing your build on a very rare enemy is far from effective, specially when gunner can just throw 3 leadbursters and do the same without any teamwork. It's good, maybe even op on paper with teamwork, but doesn't have many practical uses.
- 3 damage and 25% heat per shot make it probably even weak. If you have friends and they really want to run whatever you ask to reach massive damage, then yes it's really strong. The slowdown mod on LOK-1 is also busted when used in coordination to keep everyone safe at all times, the problem is teamnates, they are not going to run what you want them to. I have more toxic reactions to asking someone to run or simply even do something than positive agreeing ones. In a random lobby which most players run... how often can you have a gunner with incendiary rounds, on Elimination, along someone with this overclock, AND a source of fire damage, more times than I think but still rarely. If you aren't running specific builds and being able to coordinate with your team, that setup for massive damage usually offsets it. In context that damage isn't so impressive, just unique
Well if we are talking of personal experience, randoms I end up with either don't talk much or are reasonably willing to run stuff I ask them to. I guess the community is pretty nice based on that.

I am friends with lunari and meatshield and have done a bunch of testing myself on my youtube channel. This OC is bonkers. I love using the boomstick with this and just deleting enemies.

@@benismann GSG has never made it a priority to try to make all OCs exactly the same power level. That's not even a part of their philosophy. For one, it's impossible anyway. For another, it's more fun to have a variety of power levels, because you can go hard and go "meta," or you can just do whatever, and have fun trying something new. The Randoweiser beer was specifically created for this. Also the "weapon maintenance" was made to force you to use weapons you otherwise wouldn't. It's all about variety and figuring out how to make things work. I wish they would take it further, and make it so the OCs themselves had something like the weapon maintenances, so we'd be encouraged to try all the OCs that we normally don't, or that aren't meta. I've discovered more than one unpopular OC that I actually like because I didn't have much to choose from at the time.

With randoms, getting them to not destroy Dottie by standing on her, or double dipping supplies when low on health, or not pressing buttons without using chat, is asking a lot. So knowing what weapons, mods, and OCs they'll use, and using them in tandom with you, is asking a DAMN lot.
Marked for death + explosive reload Zhukov's is similarly deadly and that is even without the rest of the team also shooting the target (executioner engineer loves you too)
My favorite reasonable team comp is to run CT with the new CRSPR OC that shoots a wall of fire, I forget the name. On normal Haz 5 4 Player, you can kill a twin in like ~6-8 charge shots, and that's without any deliberate setups like the ones in this vid (including stuff like IFG). Just going into a casual mission, that amount of DPS for 2 unoptimized dwarves is absurd, especially with the fact that the flames ignore armor, allowing you to shoot from any direction. It's incredibly simply to do, and has absurd damage numbers.

I felt underwhelmed by it until Meat Shield explained that the "plasma splash" mod not only adds its own stack but also does fire-type damage, meaning that it gets to take advantage of the stacked vulnerability to fire so you do more damage with each shot. Since switching to that, it feels awesome.
When its fixed i hope you take a look at the downsides cause when it was capped at 20 it felt really bad to use. Right now people consider it a strong pick but just for specific situations. Vs swarms of enemies its still bad and runs out of ammo fast. If you decide to keep the cap at 20 i hope you change that negative damage to -2 or -1 to make it better for swarms.
I asked them if they had plans on nerfing it during one of their last dev streams, and they said maybe, but dealing a lot of damage is kind of the point of it

pgl's mod doesn't actually inflict fire damage, rather it converts half the damage to heat. Heat only changes a bug's temperature and has no effect on health so while technically yes, CT does increase the amount of heat incendiary hyperprop deals it would have no effect on the damage dealt.
They better not nerf this by TOO much. It needs to have a big reward because of the amount of coordination it requires. That last test wasnt legit though, was it? You cant equip marked for death and conductive thermals in the same loadout.

Hello, am the guy who briefly joined and suggested that last test! And you're correct. Unfortunately, it was not "legit". Originally CT Drak + VB Revolver + IFG was going to be the last test. But at the moment, I was just thinking quickly about anything that can buff the damage of VB Revolver. You know, want to make numbers go BEEEEIG. MfD is the one that crossed my mind, so I asked them I could switch to MfD at the last second. I am not sure on the legit one though. 2x CT Scouts + 1x MfD Scout VS 3x CT Scouts, 1.55x multiplier OR just more stacks? Hmm.. MeatShield might easily math this out, but me? nope.

The damage doesn't get crazy until you find another player specifically built for it and following you around, paying attention to what you're shooting and taking advantage of it. That's a very high level of coordination you won't often find in pubs, so it's hardly something that threatens to ruin the meta.
I remember being so disappointed in this overclock when I saw Lazymaybe's video on how it works. But then I tried my absolute best to force it to work anyway, and discovered that the damage cap had been removed. Once I learned that it was like a world of possibilities had opened up, and it's honestly been some of the most fun I've had. I know it's going to get adjusted sooner or later, but I really really hope they don't just slap a hard cap on damage like it had before. Like as powerful as it seems the overclock genuinely kind of needs it, you lose so much damage on your main weapon that it was nearly worthless back when it capped at 20 stacks (at that point it was just a worse marked for death and that overclock is honestly a little weak to begin with). If it must be rebalanced, do it in a way that's fair and keeps the fun intact (like maybe a halved duration on dreadnoughts like with marked for death, honestly that's the only time it's particularly broken anyway).
Hello! Lunari here and I tried with the Engineer's Swiss Cheese strat. It did a lot of damage, but there's one thing that's holding Mole with Conductive Thermals. Mole's additional damage.. is entirely Kinetic, and can't be modified by T5.A Necro-Thermal Catalyst. MeatShield told me that. So.. Mole can deal heavy damage with a looooot of terrain penetration, but the combination with CT is kinda meh than VB. Sad.
Nah, the problem with CT is that it's hyper specialized. In order to break even with the damage penalty, you need to fire over a dozen shots. On the other hand, that much damage boosting is overkill for the vast majority of DRG enemies. That makes it basically only useful on Praets and up. If a bunch of guards and Mactera show up, it's either overkill or ammo inefficient.
Now imagine that whole thing with critical weakness. You could hit over 100000 damage.

Hopefully no nerf needed. This requires setup and coordination. For random play, the 97% of what the game is made of, this OC is a fun bonus.

Not really, all it requires is that you have someone on your team that inflicts status effects. Or that you use status effects. That's not 'good play'

It's meant to have a cap of 20, but for some reason it's bugged. Infinite stacks is not how it's supposed to work.

I have seen a lot of people say (burst fire) overclock is bad. I personally find it fun. I would like to know what is everyone's favorite overclock
it's fine to find it fun, but do keep it mind the damage bonus is minimal and it's a general dps decrease all around

Btw your breach cutter build wasnt perfect. You want the triple lines since each can deal its own dmg iirc, so you would deal far more damage that way
