- The plaintiff met the defendant when they worked as showgirls in Las Vegas. They decided to start a business together, but she claims the defendant backed out of the business. The plaintiff alleges the defendant stole costumes and other inventory from their business, so she’s suing for stolen property. The defendant denies abandoning the business. She’s countersuing for unreturned property and harassment.

I cringed each time lol. Can't believe she spoke like that in court and to the judge
Ugh.. I cringed @ her the whole time 🥴🥴
Wtf was she thinking talking to the judge like that?
🤣😅. I Got chu..
The judge ruled against the plaintiff because of that slick comment she made to him (We'll talk about that later)!
Exactly, “we’ll talk about that later” and “period I got you.” No respect for the judge
@Say Less Aries baby Lmao.
The judge ruled against the plaintiff bc the contingency “when the lease was sorted out” of her being paid her ownership of the business was met. The defendant was owed the money. The only thing under dispute was *when*. The plaintiff has no right to hold on to what is owed the defendant.
Don't forget them 2 whoopedee whoopedee woop comments. That's slang for the street not the court.
I think what hurt the plaintiff is the way she presented her case, she was talking to Judge Mathis like he was a person on the street , saying “period”, “we’ll talk about later” etc.. the defendant won because she was clear on the items still not sorted out during their “buyout” although she did get some in the value of clothes she took there was still more items remaining with the plaintiff .. her response when judge asked her how much she said I don’t know .. smh , when you’re in court come prepared
Right! It’s not flattering the way she’s talking. They both were talking to him like he’s their friend and they’re not in court. Talking about “whoopty whoo” girl eww you’re presenting your case to a Judge, act like it. She’s all over the place and Judge Mathis had to pull information out of both of them 🤦🏽♀️ my head hurt after this episode

Because Judge Mathis is so jovial, people take him for granted and think their talking to their uncle.
No honey, he’s less formal not familial.
His patients are short for the younger generation, can't say I blame him. Lol

No she didn’t say “ok Period I gotchu” 😂😂😂🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️😂😂 GIRLLLLLLLLLL
The defendant didn’t deserve anything but the plaintiff was too immature to explain her case correctly.
I don’t think she was immature. I think she slipped and said the wrong thing .. NOT EVEN TRYING TO INSULT MATHIS and he got all up in his feeling s and played her . HE KNEW THEN DEFENDANT WAS WRONG
Always stay in character when handling business. That slip up cost her case.🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
The defendant was owed her portion of the business. So yes she “deserved” what she was awarded in court.

I agree. It’s several individuals who believe it was comments that hurt the plaintiff’s case. I beg to differ, there have been unfortunately several other individuals whose grammar is not suitable in court and the ruling is found in his/her favor by Judge Mathis. As you stated, it was the lack of evidence and testimony of things that were in favor of the defendant.
* several individuals in the comments*...
Whoopedee whoopedee whoop! That part of the plaintiffs comments just floored me. Like girl wth do you think you are?

This was a complete mess. Don’t go into business with a friend. All these places are hiring let them make a way for themselves 🤷🏾♂️
There is nothing wrong with doing busin3ss with friends.
The problem is they had no clear plan of what they were doing. Whether or friend or stranger, that's a bad idea.
They didn't even have basic shit like if the business needed to be bought out, how would they do it.
@@ddavis8988 no no there is…juss like how they say don’t roommate with yo friends…it always ends badd
@@itsjustme9682 the reason those go bad has nothing to do with them being friends and family. It has to do with you not having a plan.
A bad plan is gonna fail no matter who you go into business with.
I was very much confused but the defendant didn’t need to walk away with 3 grand 😬
I don’t think the lady really explained herself well in this case to have to pay.
She still put money down on the business. It’s not like she didn’t put money down on anything. The plaintiff didn’t explain herself well at all though. She left me so confused 😐
Now I could be wrong, but I believe I understand why the defendant won. The defendant let the plaintiff know she wanted out and that she was willing to sell the plaintiff her 1/2 of the business. All the plaintiff had to do was access the current value of the company and send an official offer to the defendant. When the Defendant “stole” the items, she was still part owner of the company so she basically moved her own items and so JM “divided up” what’s was left since it wasn’t half, which the plaintiff confirmed. The apartment is a non-issue because the lease ended and the Plaintiff obviously wasn’t charged anything for it or she would’ve added that to her suit. Whatever license thing the Plaintiff was relying on saying the Defendant wasn’t a legal owner of the company anymore was probably done illegally (like ignorant of the law kind) and that’s why Judge Mathis didn’t go into it.
Lol !
You are right but the plaintiff did that to herself one saying wanted to give her 1500 and 2 she admitted that she more value of property than the defendant
Imagine suing your ex business partner and you leave owing them 🤣
Judge Mathis is so annoying sometimes. I wish I could be in the audience. It’s clear the girl considered physical altercation as fist fighting and her actually fighting back. But a phone hit her and yes that’s physical, but more so assault.
Thats what I thought! I understood what she was saying “she wasn’t physical” per say but it got physical from the other party so it was assault actually. He be a asshole sometimes and its annoying. He knew what the girl meant just being a bitch lol

Aaaaannnnnddddddd got 3 g's by the end of the case!
Then throwing unnecessary info in bout how she didn't even want to go into business. Girrrl, who the f cares? You did and now it's over. That's the most irrelevant piece if info she gave. " I didn't even want to go into business!"😵
I don’t know why some in the comment section disagree with judgement. The defendant had invested in the business (50%) so rightfully so, the plaintiff has to buy her out. Doesn’t matter if she quit, she still deserve her buyout/return and if not she’s still part owner.
She may be part owner but her buyout was set and determined while she was in court and he made it very clear so even the defendent knew. My personal feeling was that no one should have gotten any money because the defendant essentially took items out of the business that equaled more than the buy out and the plaintiff essentially thru loosing inventory settled the amount owed. (Just my opinion)
🚨This is a perfect example of telling too much info and not enough at the same time. They both are shady and talk out of both sides of their neck. If she would have left it at business abandonment and not made a side deal, she would have gotten all she wanted. But no, she tried to be too smart and made a contract ontop of a contract, so the most recent one is valid. Bloop.
Nailed it.
@Kay N u hit it right on the head with that break down
There's a reason why people always say, don't go into business with your best friend, because you're likely to end up losing both.
Just because you're not swearing & rolling you're eyes doesn't mean you can't be disrespectful. The Plaintiff is being disrespectful to the Judge. "We"ll talk about that later." "That's what I'm trying to get to, can I keep going" "Period, I gotchu." He is not the homie and the Defendant doesn't seem very bright.
Yadda yadda, blah blah blah, wudeva wudeva, periodt 👀🥹
JM "Who threw the first punch?"
D "She hit me first.."
JM "Oh, kay good.."
Lol 🤣🤣🤣
i. almost died. when plaintiff said we will talk about it later. like she was gonna see judge mathis. after court session.
First of all, the ruling amount was incorrect based on what he asked the defendant. When the plaintiff said the items she had were worth way more than 5k, but she didn’t know how much, he turned and asked the defendant how much she WANTED for them and she said $3k… during the ruling, he said the defendant said the plaintiff’s possessions were worth 3k, thus splitting that in half (on top of the buyout money). She should’ve walked away with $4500 based on what he said during the case.
Omg yesss I was waiting on someone to catch that… had my head spinning 😅😂😂
They had to split the cost equally thus making it £1500 each.
@@cherylene180 Did you even ATTEMPT to read what I wrote….
I read the whole thing and there’s no need to be so defensive. I just explained why she got $3000
I agree with the judge for this ruling. The plaintiff confirmed that ownership is 50/50 and confirmed that the items she has left in the business was more than $5000 so the defendant left with less than half of their ownership. She offered to buy her out, if her name was removed from the lease. The kease expired and she never told her an amount. Her claim was dropped and because the defendant left with less than 50% of the dissolved business she owes her
Judge Mathis is so used to being in his element and in front of the cameras that he forgets that most people are not! 😅 One wrong slip up and he will not let you live it down for the rest of the case! Recently he hasn’t been hearing people out and it’s annoying. The reason she didn’t give her an amount is because the defendant didn’t keep the original agreement. I wouldn’t have given her amount either if she changed up our agreement.
Never go into business with a friend or family. Do it yourself.
Plaintiff rude, I knew she lost when she said "we'll talk about that later" surprised he didn't hit his gavel immediately after that.
I would think the buy out means that she wouldn’t be able to take half of the business I’m confused.
I’m still stuck
Defendant didn’t need to win that. She got her money when she took the inventory. Whether they put in for the inventory or not she left the business and her buyout cost was set. At that point she didn’t own anything pertaining to the business.
The plaintiff had not set a buy out amount when the defendant took the inventory
And a buyout is not just for inventory or tangible items in a business its also for interest or stake in the business. So 1500 for a successful small vegas business is reasonable.
She wasn't given a buyout amount and wasn't paid either. Over 10k in inventory and the defendant only wanted $1500. Sounds like she just wanted out but the plaintiff really didn't want her to go.
You can’t set a buyout cost on your on. It must be part of the contract or agreed upon. And you definitely have notify the other party of what you believe it is. She did none of that. Since she had no idea of the worth of her own inventory (liar) judge went with the defendant. The plaintiff is an idiot
Her buyout wasn’t set because they didn’t agree to it.

I'm confused on this judgement. The girl was owed $1500 in buy out but she took 5K worth of stuff. She said what the plaintiff had was worth more than what she took. When Mathis asked her how much she wanted for the stuff she said 3k. Now the defendant has 8k from the buy out?
That’s what I was thinking! If the plaintiff owned inventory worth more than the 5k worth of inventory the defendant left with, why did she say what the plaintiff had was only 3k and why did she get half of that when she didn’t return half of the 5k of stuff she left with? If the plaintiff said it was more, like 7k for example, would the defendant get 3500 of that?? So confused.
Funny
@@Chitosiri wow I see you really tried to break it down. I still don't agree. 1. You cant try to make up figures and expenses like paying employees. I agree she owed 50% and $1500 was clearly not 50%. The defendant took $5k then asked for $3k from what she left. The Judge I guess determined he would split the $3k and also make the Plaintiff pay $1500 buy out because she said she would before the defendant took $5k. Lol So that's 5k +1500+1500

I don't agree with the decision in this case.
Azana abandoned the business via text message, stole from it, and then sued the business partner for money. #Trifling.
The agreement was that Cyan would provide Azana half the money for the business, only on one condition.
The condition was that Azana would remove Cyan off the lease.
Contract was breached when Azana didn't execute the terms.
Even though the lease dissolved later, the agreement was never executed by Azana.
Judge should have awarded Cyan for the stolen items. Azana should have left the courtroom disappointed.
Agree 100% I think the judge misunderstood which is why he kept saying “u didn’t give her the payout amount cause u couldn’t find her”?
Azana knew well enough what the original agreement was. I wouldn’t have given her the amount either.
