I feel like every Mercedes multi-link rear suspension does this. I am impressed if this is really the culprit. Will probably buy a kit to do my 07 S550.
This reminds me of a problem I had on my W204. The back end would kick out slightly when I braked. I checked the brakes and they were fine. I checked the suspension and I found out that one of the links had come away from the rear subframe because of corrosion on the subframe which is a common problem with the W204. I then found out that Mercedes-Benz have a 30 year corrosion warranty in Europe (20 years in North America) and the subframe is covered. It took it to my local dealer and they replaced the subframe under warranty. I would urge all W204 owners to go striaght to the dealer if the rear subframe is corroded as all such affected W204s should be covered by the corrosion warranty.
Thank you again Kent, and the team! You're awesome! Love your videos. I was just wondering if you've ever thought about making a headlight adjustment video?
Thanks for this, I have a CLK 350 and have experienced what feels like a kick sideways going over a bump. How much labor is involved in just dropping the control arm and replacing the bushing?
thank you Ken.
Every soft suspension bushing is important to renew
