If you like this, you'll like what I found in Glasgow a few weeks ago... Chiefly 80s Hammond and Champness lifts with Dewhurst US89's, VERY audible relays and motor (outside the motor room!) in a car park. I think they might actually be louder than this Furse lift here! My face when I pressed that button for the first time was a picture. lol!
@@mrmattandmrchay sorry man, I commented on this before you watched my video, it's the lifts I filmed. They're at the Concert Square car park in Glasgow Centre. :) sound much nicer in real life haha
That's loud?! I barely heard anything! :D LOL!!! Maybe there is an amplifier/mic next to the machine, to make it loud. It's got Classic Leveling to boot. I rode some badly modded 1910's Otis Elevators that were deafening. My camera didn't pick up the intensity, but it was ear-piercing. Just remembered about the BHS lift - that could be interesting, and the passenger lifts in the Observatory seem to have their original motors - not sure about the Queensmere ones. Debenhams lifts have been modernised but they don't have the ecodisc motor so they probably are original from when the shop was Allders and when the lift was a Maryatt Scott.
