A-nother great week in the life of the Trap! Have to give Mike props, I have ordered everything from stickers to t-shirts to a Thickstun intake with carbs and they are always perfectly packaged! Moon trailer Inspection! Great progress on the non "Ruined Roadster!" Rabbit's cool, nice engine swap! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!
The turn signal reminded me of a time back in 1959 or 1960 when my neighbor and I put a used turn signal kit in his '52 Chevy. We had no instructions and being high schoolers we had to figure it out ourselves. We made temporary connections by placing wires together and push a straight pin through both wires. When we did the first test, instead of lights blinking the radio went on/off on/off. We eventually got it right and made permanent connections.
i road raced a 74 rabbit in the mid 80's to a SCCA (door to door, not solo) championship. i had a very bad ass caddy too, which i used as the tow vehicle with a dolly. it ran 12's in the 1/4! i have always been a bug guy and still have a very nice 1960 ragtop sunroof. but in contrast in 1979 i was driving a 32 5 window coupe with a flathead to high school.
If you build this sturdy enough you can put storage on the top of your office which would give you another 120 sq ft love storage so do like a 2 by 10 on top
A 10 by 10 off is 120 sq ft that will work out just fine on your Lumber package 10 ft 2 x 4S make sure you get a couple of pressure-treated 2 x 4S for the bottom plate
Easy way to bleed brakes: gather clear tube to fit over bleeder valve, water bottle and brake fluid. Place tube on bleeder valve and other tube in water bottle. Put enough fluid in water bottle to cover end of tube and place tube in bottle. Crack valve and start pumping. The fluid in the bottle keeps air from back feeding and you can see when the air stops. It's much easier with two people, but not necessarily.
Hey Matt. Can't remember if you said what made you do the "Switch " from imports to Hotrods? You were heavily into imports and in a short time, just as much into the other. Plus, above the office could be storage, if you reinforce.
What a bummer. When you mentioned that you did a unique engine swap into that little blue spam can, I just KNEW it was going to have a V860 in it. Oh well.
I like the VW and I've only hot rodded American V8s. Guy back in the old car group (Matt and I are close in age) had a pick up truck version believe it was the same color, Audi swap of some sort, Mustang leaf springs. IIRC. It was quick and unique which I loved. Diesel vin which kept it out of emissions, hated him for that one :) He likely watched your build topic.
You can actually see a bit of dimensional comparability between the old Volkswagen and the 30s Fords. An engine compartment out front, passenger area behind. Not a big difference in height, width and depth. Maybe there's a golden formula for the ideal small car and these two (with massive global sales in their day) meet that rule. By the way, that VR-5 engine swap looks wicked. Great 'week in the life video.'
Assumed office walls would incorporate the two exterior walls, rear wall and wall closest to shop. Sounds like Mike wants to build three new walls, instead of just two. Leaving 3 ft. (min.) access to pallet rack is a good idea. Suggest mocking up everything you'll need in office/shipping room before final dimensions are determined. Once it's framed and dry walled, interior space has a nasty habit of shrinking.
Keep your eyes open for a small forklift with rubber tires then it'll drive right over the rocks and stuff outside and you can go all over the place with it take me to 7-Eleven the whole enchilada rubber tires buddy
General motors is great the motor industry is too all around the world I'm a UK citizen I may never travel to America to see cars I don't drive it's nice 😂
Hey Matt, how old is the MOON DOG???? Poor guy looks to have some "LUMPS" growing on him. Is he "OK" have you had him checked out. I would assume he's hanging in there and seems to be getting along awrite??
Try to find an old lady that lives in town are old couple that want to rent out their garage that they never use that's a good way to get some space and not pay a ton of money let me know how my plan goes LOL
I could give you $1,000 for that old station wagon I would really dig it I don't have a lot of money but I've got a lot of time so let me know if you would do that to your oldest viewer I live in St Louis so I would have to get a U-Haul trailer to pick it up and when I get it all done and buffed out I'll send you pictures
That little space is now called the rabbit hole
Fantastic video, just love the, 'Week in the Life of...' video's. Love as Always, Reading, England.
The old wagon is just cool. I'd love to see it all cleaned up.
It's even got that rear facing third row seat.
Love these "week in the life" videos!
Love the way Moon is straight in to check out the new arrival.
Always enjoy the week in the life of videos! thanks for the update.
Anytime you can add in a child, q dog, and a mouse cameo it's gotta be a winner !!
You guys are kicking ass. Congratulations on all the well-deserved success. 👍💯
Didn't expect to see a UK Ford E93A (the pastel green 2 door) in the parade!
Cool video. It’s great to see Nate helping out in the shop.😊
The wagon is completely cool. That grill and taillights....Ooo La La!!!. 👍
New channel.... "Builds for Kate"...
I love old Rabbits... my first car at 16 was a 1979 Rabbit: manual, gas, square headlights, white, 4 door..
I love how you keep moving forward. No office?! no biggy, we'll just set up a table and get to that soon as we can. Brilliant!
Gotta keep the ball rolling while!

We love a mk1 golf. Best GTI I've owned ever
Great work, guys! One of the cars I regret selling was my '76 Rabbit. That thing was a gas to throw around the track!
Love the Forward Look wagon can't wait to see more.
And, of course, a Moondog!
Been waiting for the mk1 golf ..

Awesome you had some cool Vw’s !
I don't know how Mike keeps the inventory in his head with all that's in the building. Crazy amount of parts. Cool VW !!
@ 34:08 Awesome Rabbit Hole there in your new storage building!
My brother bought a Rabbit new in 1976. His was a green two door, with that same orange-y interior. They were neat little cars.
Oh that’s a neat color combo!

VERY enjoyable! Thanks guys.
Good tunes during Mike's high-speed packing. This is what I'd listen to if I were doin that job.
Thats a cool rabbit, love to see it. I daily drive a 1990 Mk II myself.
Very cool!
I think your drives are great to see
Mike has his own mini me...even dressed alike.
Ya got yourself a Golf Kart
Matt doesnt like small blocks Chevy's but he now has a mouse
Love the Wabbit, original hot hatch.
I would love to watch you fix that old Volkswagen up I've been a Volkswagen fan all my life

100sqft 10x10

Moon is definitely a Daddy's boy.
Hard work, hard work. Good work, good work…. you guys👍
Some of those old turn switches had a rubber wheel that rubbed on the steering wheel and would self cancel.
Parabéns - excelente trabalho e belas máquinas.
What a bummer. When you mentioned that you did a unique engine swap into that little blue spam can, I just KNEW it was going to have a V860 in it. Oh well.
Time for a shop cat 😂
Consider: A pre fab shed could be dropped in and would make a great office. Bo.
I've been able to get LED (preferred by me) bulbs for all the bayonet bases including prewar gauges. Simple search.

guy's used to describe such a build as this as sanitary. I think it still fits. well so does COOL.
Boy do I remember taking kids to work.

There's a song there like moon like s a cold floor on a hot summer s day
I am into all cars minus electric cars. I was hoping the little Rabbit was a diesel but the engine swap is cool. I hope you do some videos on it.
I wonder how you and jesse james would interact. He should be on a podcast. I think that would be cool. 🤷🏻♂️
Dude!! Fun video!! Wow!!! Rabbit!!! ✌️
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the vw..
You can probably get five or six more Volkswagens in there
Do you ever throw like a sticker in the box that you're shipping little something extra
In 40 yrs someone is gonna be doing a video of buying your "estate" with a VW tucked back in a corner nobody knows about😂😂😂
Very well could happen!

Steve better watch out. Nate might be interested in replacing him.

I can't believe you destroyed that NOS tail light socket! Do you even blah blah, blahde blah blah....blah! lol

No matter how big you build them they’re just not big enough are they the building that is
College education, who da &(&&**k needs that? Hard work and a goal👍
Nice Video.

He’s had lumps his entire life. He gets them checked every check up.
@@IronTrapGarage cool. Glad he’s getting checked regularly.
a 10x10 with a table in it will not give you much room to move around.. Just my thoughts
He doesn’t need much room to “move around” mainly just boxing parts and printing shipping labels
🤘🏼⛽️🍻🐾
