I've been working with Steel Beans for a decade, Jeremy is my favorite producer to work with, my best friend and a brother. I have been over the moon seeing him get the recognition he much deserves. Salmonella Records is a small label but it's got huge talent.
Huge is a good choice of words...
Love Jeremy ❤️❤️
Are they accepting demos? XDD
He’s so entertaining and you can feel his passion.Loved his Ween covers.
You guys deserve some more attention too. In fact, I think I'll put on your Tread Lightly disc.
This dude is raising the bar for introverts everywhere
He’s solved the “creative differences” problem
Lol!
Excellent comment!
@@kevinkiso4579 thanks.
@Hartley_Taylor Yeah, man, stellar.
😂😂❤
Jeremy USED to be America's best kept secret. Great that he's blowing up. I was a drummer in Steel Beans 2016-2019 when he had a 10 piece band full horn line. My point - I consider myself a pretty fluid drummer and I had to tell him I'll get close to what your playing on the recordings lol. You should see him play drums with two sticks lol. On his recordings unless other musicians are mentioned it's all him. The man is one sexy musical genius. If he hears a part for his song on say a violin he will get a violin learn the part and then play it himself. Talent beyond talent. He will make up songs on the spot. And funny. OMG he could be a comedian if he chose to lol. Talent beyond talent.
It's amazing how most multi-instrumentalists have an amazing sense of humor as well. Everything you've said about Jeremy is exuded in what he posts across social media. I'm glad to hear firsthand that he's genuinely what he puts forth as a brand.
YO steel beans wouldnt be where he is today without dudes like you supporting him for those years while America slept. mad respect.
Ol Mirkwood peeps I see. 👋 Jeremy is fantastic!!
Last week one man on stage … no band. Today One man band no stage! Incredible!
Hahahaha
🤣😂👌
Spot on, great comment.
And not a DJ calling themself a musician.
😂😂😂
He’s using a double kick pedal to create that triplet fill. Watch his left foot.
What an incredible performance!
It's not triplets, it's an eighth note two sixteenth notes and a final note on the down beat. This pattern repeated is often referred to as a gallop.
He sounded like the best of combinations of The White Stripes and The Black Keys. I absolutely loved that
And eagles of death metal, I would say
Where is my Flying V. . . ? I've started a lawsuit against the telegram scammers. Anyone joining in?
It's basically 20th century boy by T Rex.
And a touch of the cult
@@filipeh8 I was gonna say QOTSA so your answer makes good sense.
The “brrr” fill is the use of a double peddle. Impressive indeed.
Good catch. 👍🏻
Pedal
Hey, text me... nobody is falling for your crap anymore. Get a life.
Saw that as well. Very impressive to pull all that off.
To me it sounds like a single pedal (don't think the hi-hat stopped🤔) but the same idea, 2 16ths on the floor followed by the bass drum.
This man is about to get some much deserved recognition.
Yes. Justin deserves it.
He’s been. I’ve been seeing this everywhere. It’s nuts
Since Jack White isn’t so much covering this bluesy garage rock territory any longer, sure.
It's great to see a local sweet talented dude go viral, Jeremy is a very artistic guy with vision.
I was a singer in a band and we played with steel beans in Everett Washington at Tony v's garage a couple years ago, it's truly amazing to really amazing to see in person anyone anyone who can donate gas money it's completely worth it to keep steel beans rollin Lynn peace
I saw him live in Nottingham last week and he was amazing!! Such talent was Brilliant to see live!
Managed to see him live the other day opening for Tenacious D, hadn’t heard of him before but I was absolutely blown away. Really great stuff!
Man I used to front a band from behind the drums and just doing double duty kicked my butt. Doing triple duty takes extra talent. This is one of the best one man bands I’ve ever seen.
Check out cam cole
@@ouYtube2 I'm not sure what you mean.
dude he's got a double pedal.. what he's doing is nothing that can not be done with a little practice and especially a lot of wanting to be assed about ahaahahahahah
@@milanforever7014 I've had my same double bass pedal since 1998. So, I'm well familiar with using them. That being said, my original comment still stands. When discussing singing, remembering lyrics, playing guitar, and playing drums, ALL simultaneously, Having a double bass pedal seems like a relatively small part of the whole performance that this fellow is conducting.
@@allenmitchell09 dude I play guitar drums and bass.. what this guy is doing is nothing extraordinary.. as long as someone is assed about doing it is doable.. I'm not assed about that.. I'd do it for a joke 30 years ago.. I like playing with people.. not to mention that this guy's music is nothing special and is old as fuck
Damn, that riff’s catchy! It’s going to be stuck in my head all night now! 😅 I struggle to understand how normal drummers control all of their limbs at once, so this amount of coordination is way beyond my comprehension. A talented man indeed, respect to you Steel Beans 🥰🥰🥰
It’s basically the black keys, which is to say, the white stripes, which is to say the flat duo jets, which is to say…ect
couldnt get rid of it either! too cool.
That dude is better than 98% of what's on the radio these days.
That's not too hard these days...
That's fuck'n right.
100% and I don't even really like this song !
*Hears generic buttrock* "DURR SO MUCH BETTER THAN MODERN MUSIC"
*You like this dude more than 98% of what's on the radio these days
Let's not forget that opinions aren't facts as much fun as it is to pick low hanging fruit.
I've only just started watching your videos and im a proper addict now! i cant stop!! bloody brilliant! someone give Justin a tv show?
No worries, Justin, you never fail us in fashion or with anything else! You are always informative, entertaining and incredibly funny! 💜
Cheers Justin! So happy to see this fine gentlemen blowing up… I had the pleasure of hearing this phenomenon in a dive bar back in 2016… I was blown away by the performance, and it was criminal how no one in the bar gave a fuck. 6 years later, and my favorite frontman and music commentator is discussing the prowess of steel beans.
Goes to show dreams can come true 😁
This guy is from my town in far NW corner of the United States. We used to just see him rocking out at street fairs. I have a video of him somewhere on my phone just playing outside to a few people. Awesome to see him blow up like this
That dude blew me away. He's amazing.
I’m so stoked you reviewed this video. This guy deserves all the hype he can get!
Good Lord I’m totally obsessed with your channel now JH.
I’ve not picked a book up in 3 months.
This is so informative.
That's one of the greatest things watching these videos. You show us acts which we may not have come across. Never heard of this guy but I'm immediately hooked. Love it
He supported Tenacious D on their Spicy Meatball tour, saw it at the O2 on 16th June. I've never seen a support act win the audience within the first 8 bars of the opening song. Closing with Moonage Daydream was a stroke of genius and an emotional rollercoaster.
I liked it when I first saw it on utube, glad you're reviewing it, I think it's simple but groovy! In this case less definitely is more! It's fun and entertaining. Love the channel, look forward to it every day! 😘Muah!
You're right Justin he's doing a full triplet fill whilst playing the guitar. Love Steele Beanz
I needed this in my life this morning! Thanks :)
How has no one come up with Molotov Cocktail Lounge before. Brilliant in its simplicity.
So glad you made a video on this guy, I found him on Instagram and I’ve been telling anyone who’ll listen about him.
In some of his videos there are times he makes a mistake but instantly incorporates it into the song on the fly to create a different sound, freaking brilliant.
This is fucking AMAZING. Thank you for having the best music channel this side of Beato.
I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this. Thank you for turning me on to such an incredible band!
Artists do what we do, we cant help it. I think this is so honest and bad ass, I hope he and the band rid this moment they have, all the way to the air waves and into every car on the road. Because its just pure American rock n roll pure and honest. I think its great to use your platform and subscriber base you have to help struggling musicians, and supporting them like you have here. Youve shown respect for fellow musicians. The regular guys. Kudos good Sir.
Awesome! what a gift this guy has. I play guitar/ keys and sing but adding full on drums in is utterly mad (and he can actually crack it out full on, in time, everything) - brilliant!
I am always impressed at your positive analysis of the musicians you review! Nice to see hear in this strange time we’re in. Great job at the Taylor Hawkins shows!
Been binging your channel for months now and have been loving every minute. Really stoked to see you watch some stuff like this. Even more obscure than "indie" music i suppose but Steel Beans is gaining recognition by the minute and too see your content cross streams with his is super exciting. Much love!
Thank you and thanks for binge watching too :)
I have never heard anyone talk about having a "really ripped" pinky!! HILARIOUS, Justin!
That video is super impressive. I also love the straightforwardness of the song. Its great stuff.
"If White Stripes can do it with two, I can do it alone." Right down to running the mic through a distortion pedal.
Thank you Justin for showing this 😂 I love this song now. That Riff and beat is so catchy! This is awesome in so many ways 😂
Hey, Justin. Just want to say I've become a big fan of your UA-cam channel and The Darkness recently. I even sometimes catch myself singing the channel's intro/theme song throughout the day. It's probably one of the best songs you've ever written (lyrically, at least). Cheers!
For the drum fill, he’s switching from hi-hat and bass drum to double bass drum.
Yes, one can see his foot moving for the triplet. So that should be two strokes on the bass drum and one on the floor tom.
Truly love watching this dude rock out! Love his fills
Jack White got divorced, locked himself in the basement and emerged as The White Stripe - singular.
I found this guy last week on tiktok
Awesome! Love that you’re spotlighting him Justin!!
Wow Juzzo.
This fit and talented young man is rocking.
Pretty much showing QOTSA or The Eagles of Deaths Metal how to do it all by himself.
Legend.
Hey Justin.
I think a scam is under way here.
@@bloffs3352 yeah the bots went nuts on this vid
I have had Justin's intro stuck in my head for 8 days now🤣 I love this guy,🤘
Jeans are ok Justin. You don't want to always blow our tiny minds with your underpants! Great stuff as always. Many thanks for all your effort to delight us. ☺
I haven't heard a single "bad" review from Justin. How refreshing to find a proper rock n roller that isn't a cynical a hole all the time. Cheers
This is the most rock and roll thing I've seen in 15 years. He's the shit.
Keep an eye on his left foot. He does those low fills by switching from the high-hat peddle to the double bass drum peddle.
Hey Justin,
since I discovered your channel and the fact that I am a secret fan of The Darkness put a huge smile on my face.
Lost you guys in the sands of time. But as I've seen you again looking healthy and so entertaining was just awesome.
Lost the fun in life a little but your episodes give me good times and remember me to my old band buddy who was a guitar nerd as well.
Thanks Justin and cheers to Switzerland from the other side of the lake.
I just found this Steel Beans video last night. This dude is my spirit animal! He gives hope to guys with dad bods out there that we can still rock and look cool. lol I fell down the rabbit hole, and checked out a bunch of songs with the full band. I was quite impressed and think they're great. Give the rest of their catalog a good checkout if you liked this one.
This is so retro sounding. Thanks I shall look this guy up!hope there's more!
Glad you found him! I shared a bill with Jeremy back in 2016 and he was killin' it then! So happy he stuck to his guns and seeing success.
It's so cool to see them get recognized! One of the coolest, down to earth dudes I've randomly met
Saw this on Facebook. I was amused, impressed, and entertained all at the same time...
Pretty cool of you to take notice and promote independent artists! You Rock! Steel Beans Rocks! Thanks for the video!
This guy is great! love his energy.
If you like multi-instrument singers, 'Paris Monster' is incredible!! Well worth a listen.
Nice one JH 👍👍
Same Gunhilde Carling
So glad I was impressed by this performance, to then find this community in agreement 🤘😎
Your a legend and larger than life inspiration. Thanks from Springfield Illinois
Saw this video you are showcasing a few days ago and sent it to all the musicians i know. STEEL BEANS!
Justin I liked your "Petrol" reference to the bbc league of gentleman's Stubbs. Steel Beans reminds me of Captain Beefheart. I likey. I like it alot.
He does one with keyboard added in also. I sent this to you a couple weeks on the social media, I’m sure a ton of people did. Glad you reviewing it.
This guy keeps tearing it up even when his f@#%ing laptop goes down.🤘
😛😜🤟
These guys are great! Jeremy puts up one helluva show. He was even kind enough to do a benefit show for our co-op bike shop.
Back in 1999 I owned a blues club in Ontario Canada. We had an “open stage” on Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons. We had a regular “jammer” who played drums, bass and sang at the same time! And……he covered Beatle songs!
He was amazing!
Peace
wow ! massive sound ! Massive riff ! Everything falls perfectly in place ! great voice, great attitude. It would still be great if they were 4 or 5. This guy is a phenomenon
That was COOL!!!! I think you have to see it to really appreciate it. He's really good too, but seeing it is believing it! Steel Beans? I'll have to check them out! This was interesting! REALLY INTERESTING!!! A THOUSAND THUMBS UP!!! ❤👍👍👍👍👍👍🌸
This performance rolled through my instagram feed a few days ago. I deem this an exhibition of musical entertainment badassery.
Cheers. 🤙
Hey Justin, I love the show man, it's great to see you sharing your honest opinions about other bands and even throwing a little shade where it's deserved.
Just wondered if you ever have plans to react to the work of Devin Townsend?
This is going to sound so sleazy coming from a 40 yr old women but you make my day, your smile and when you dig along with the music, if I had been in the same circles as you I would have loved to meet you❤
Great reaction video. I actually seeing Mr beans open up for tenacious D next Tuesday in Kansas City. Im Excited!
a little while back I just randomly stumbled upon this channel. Glad I did.. super cool videos.. I saw the Darkness once but the light show was so extreme I couldn't look at the stage.. how ironic lol
I saw this song on the gram, and thought it was great. I'm all for any music involving the playing of actual instruments. Even more impressive when someone is playing multiple instruments at once. I'm really hoping everyone involved with them can ride the recent wave of exposure to greater things.
Awesome video as always
no idea how i stumbled across this but so glad i did. thanks
Loving the bass drum work!
Jeremy also plays keyboard while strumming, drumming, and singing. He's awesome!
Nothing but love for this guy! You don't often see a one man band & I dig how he's blowing up
So glad Nate Wood got a mention!
The fill: Watch his hihat foot. He's got another bass drum pedal there. First hit is a floor tom, the other three are kicks.
Hell yeah its Jeremy!!! Steel Beans. How did this guy even find him. PNW legend great to see this thanks for sharing!!!
Haha I just got fed the Steelbeans video last week too. Obsessed with this guy!!
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆thxs again for riding again Justin 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
From AZ
Omg thank you!! I assume I am one of many many who sent you this link and asked for your thoughts!!
I saw Steel Beans play a solo show last summer. It was awesome and a free show to boot.
Great analysis. Off to check out Nate Wood
Yup, saw him open for Tool last fall in New Hampshire. He's awesome.
I am loving these vids Justin thank you 🌸 💕 🇬🇧
This is awesome, Steel Beans needs some exposure. His Ween cover of the grobe, took some super skills.
In Canada we have a gent named Steve Hill who has a few albums out as a one man blues/rock band. He’s also outstanding with some superb tunes!
Dude is a genius so glad to see him getting some love! His Ween covers are amazing too 🤘
how can you call genius a guy who's playing trite music that has been heard hundreds of times before? he can play a bit of guitar and drums and he's playing them together just because he can be assed about doing it.. most of the people don't give a fuck and would rather play with other musicians
@@milanforever7014There are so many contexts that word genius can be used in. If you want to assume I was referring to technical ability then that's your issue not mine. Clearly you're jealous of his notoriety or you wouldn't have any interest in replying to so many comments here
@@unclewaynosworld1708 Don't feed the trolls. Check out his channel for the type of music he thinks is class.
Funnily enough this video popped up on my recommendations the other day. The sound was off. I just thought belly Elvis and skipped this gem. Thank you for highlighting this.
It takes a special kind of compartmentalised brain to even pull this one off.
I thank you for this analysis. Both mystifying, brilliant lo fi music at its rawest which is a great thing.
Belly Elvis 😄😆 not unlike Elvis himself near the end of his life.
Dude I just now realized you're the singer of the Darkness, because well,.. you mentioned it. Always thought that guy was some esoteric nut job, I stand (partially) corrected haha.
Awesome. He's playing the Bonham fills with help of his double bass pedal next to his hihat pedal.
Two piece band called Crown Lands (canadian) really impressive as well. I seen them touring with Jack White, the guitarist (sometimes bassist) plays guitar while playing bass with those foot controllers like organ foot pedals. The drummer is the singer and has quite a good voice, i remember thinking robert plant a little but not like greta's imitative thing. And somehow he's playing these intricate things on drums while doing all that. Good song to start with may be their recent hit White Buffalo.
This guy rocks, Thank you for sharing this! And Nate is amazing as well!
One of my favorite one man bands is Bob Log III - you should definitely check him out too, if you've not heard him yet! 💖💖
I second this !
I couldn’t see you doing an entire video on him, but Bob Log III is probably the most incredible one man bands I’ve ever witnessed.
