20 Years of "Stop Shopping"

In the two decades of resisting Consumerism at the holidays, Rev Billy & the Stop Shopping Choir hasn't changed very much. We have new songs and singers have moved on and singers joined up. And Times Square, the cathedral of commerce, hasn't changed much. Every corporation must have its sign in this "Stonehenge of Logos". What has changed is everything physical beyond the glowing walls of the Broadway canyon. The Earth's uprising has begun in those 20 years of parading against consumption. Soon the Earth will crush Times Square, drown and burn us. We couldn't stop consuming, and shopping's fossil fuel destroyed us. Or do we still have time?
