Any ideas on how to dodge the attack where he claps both hands into an explosion? i know it's safe under him, but mostly it's too far when you're dpsing and he suddenly does that shit. Been trying to dodgebolt but haven't succeeded so far, is it just the worst rng of this fight 🥲
I was running focus shot on this build. Dodgebolt backwards and use focus shot and usually you are just out of range of it. The only other way to avoid it when you aren't close enough to get over him is to flinch him out of it.
@@eddieweekley2798 flinch him out of it is usually what I aim for any time I'm running time trials, imo, the entire point of "meta" sets is how/that the increased DPS changes the flow of the fight given you can activate/cross flinch thresholds more often and if I keep eating shit, well it's possible I'm not playing optimally enough or my build isn't optimized enough! I run HBG too and I was shocked the difference I got in flinches/topples when comparing different builts
With dodgebolt it's just repetition until you learn the timing. Especially with the paw slam and the swipe. For the roars you need to wait till his mouth is completely open. At first it will seem like you are dodging a little late. For the exploding orbs you want to dodge towards them right after his head goes by or else you get hit by two attacks which will make the dodgebolt proc useless. For the big explosion clap. You can't dodgebolt it, it hits twice so you need to outspace it. You can use a dodge plus focus shot (the dodge silkbind) to get behind it or if you are too close then try to get under him.
@@eddieweekley2798 thanks for the reply, but I think I am dodging it early when the roar and the paw slam, even I tested it with evade window 5, I thought I was sucks and I go test on other monsters the was just fine
@@kanade1107 Sidestep or dodgebolt? Dodgebolt's counter frames do not increase with evade window so while you might be able to evade things you still only get 4 counter frames. If you don't negate the attack with the counter then you'd have to have the s contain the entirety of the attack. If you are using sidestep then the attacks might simply have more active frames than you can get through evade window. Not sure on how long his hitboxes actually linger.
@@kanade1107 That's probably the main issue then. Unlike World I-framing with sidestep is really difficult since they cut down on the i frame window. I'd advise trying to learn dodgebolt if you want to speedrun. Sidestep can be good, but it's so difficult to consistently i frame anything with it that it'll never be as useful in speedruns. It might also be worth trying the redirection skill if you want to use sidestep. You could use that to i frame instead and since it's a switch skill swap you'd maintain charge. It won't beat dodgebolt, but could work to let you keep using sidestep.
@@daorasama He's basically a big crab. You'll likely be able to stunlock him for large portions of the fight. One thing to note is that he is HP locked during his final roar and won't die until after it's over. I've had him stuck at 1 hp during it several times.
Me: struggling to beat him in 40 minutes

what is your bow build?
I show the build at the end of the video. Though this is from before TU1 so it has no augmented gear.
Why does it seem your reticle sensitivity is super quick comparatively?
Gyro aiming. What you are seeing is slight movements of the controller due to button presses.
Is this TU1 build?
If I remember right this was before TU1. I did it shortly after Sunbreak launched or at least I started working on it then.
@@eddieweekley2798 thank u ..so its possible to get sub 3 with tu3 build ( without adrenaline ) then?
