    Ich finde , wenn man Lebewesen malt sind die Augen das Wichtigste. Sie entscheiden ob das Bild lebendig ist oder nicht. Gut gemacht!!

      Dankeschön :-))) Ja, seh ich genauso, die Augen sind speziell bei so einem "schlichten" Bild wirklich der Dreh- und Angelpunkt. Sind die "daneben" ist die Wirkung des Bildes hinüber.

      Thank you Sharlene :-))) Give the oils (in my case the water mixable oils) a chance - they really are SO easy to work with. I did acrylics only in my first year or two but I never regretted the switch to oils, you will achieve effects with the oils that can hardly be done with acrylics in a far easier manner.

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you Allison :-))) Sometimes I go a bit overboard with the details...but sometimes they are a must like in this case - there is "just" a bird on the canvas, nothing else...so it needs to be highly detailed to make the painting really go "booom" in the head of the viewer.

    • @allisonmcdonald5488

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  2 роки тому +1

      @@allisonmcdonald5488 Thank you again :-))) Yes, very often the small details really make all the difference...but as a painter you must see those details, you must realize those details before you really understand them and are able to put them into a painting. Lots of people jump right into the painting process and wonder why the painting looks not like the reference material. See and understand, and THEN start to paint - and you will get MUCH better results :-)))

    • @brennerfineart

      Hi Albert, yes, I let the underpainting dry completely until it is really bone dry. It took a few days as I took linseed oil for thinning down the colours for the underpainting.

    What is the medium you first applied so it would prevent absorption of color. How long does it take to dry? Thank you!!

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  Рік тому

      Hi Douglas, the medium is just purified linseed oil. A pretty thin layer and I started to paint right on, if you let it get sucked in too much it will not stop to help the colours from drying too quick.
