Recorded at Musician’s Friend in June 2015.
I bought this guitar in Mapleglo a month ago and haven't been able to put it down since the day it arrived. This guitar is truly a work of art! The level of craftsmanship is remarkable. I have rarely seen any other guitar where the attention to detail is so meticulous. Absolutely flawless! I wish my Gibson Les Paul was made this well. Rickenbacker is quality all the way!
What style of music do ya play?
@@houseoftrek611 I am all over the place as far as style of music. I fancy a good clean sound. Fender, Gretsch, and Rickenbacker guitars have that shimmering clean single coil sound that is pleasing to my ears. Although I have several humbucker equipped instruments, I prefer single coils. For amps, my first choice is a Fender Twin Reverb, or a good Marshall. I guess you could say that I am deeply Old School.
@@Walks-With-Pride Okay. Nice.
I have a 330/12 but this is the one i want one day
Just got one of these, exactly the same. Amazing gorgeous guitar!! Nice playing :)
Lovely guitar. Already own a Ruby 330 but can't stop drooling over this Fireglo 381 V69 ... or the 1993+ 12-string. Or a used Rose-Morris 1997. Doh! I think I have Rickenbacker acquisition syndrome :-)
Rickenbackers are the best sounding and looking guitars their are.
Awesome!
I own a 360... and I think RICKENBACKER are the best guitars ever made. I have also a Gibson es 335, wonderful guitar!!!, (and a Fender Telecaster, a Stratocaster, an Epiphone Casino etc.) but the Rick has something more. I like the 381, love the toaster pickups, the long vintage trussrod cover... The only thing I don't like in this model is the pickguard, I prefer the 330/360 one
I see similar but had a DD digital delay on this youtube that the 360/12 did not have. Another compare vdo would be great to see how to get the same sound on the 381 / 12 v69.
It just shows the "absolute" quality you get from a genuine Rickenbacker.
A beautiful-looking and sounding guitar but I'd swap out the R tailpiece for a trapeze one.
I have a 360/6 and I still want this sweet baby.
would be great to compare the 360 vs. 381 sounds with same settings and song. Then. how to get the jangly sound of the 360 on the 381.
The 381 is way more jangly than the 360.
It seems that they've dropped the John Kay signature from it!
Anyone,How much could I get (roughly!) a 6 string Fireglow for ? My Dream Guitar and Im almost Ready to buy one.!! Peace n Love and all That!! R&R Baby!!
+Ryan McDonald It depends on the model. The 381 is 5000 dollars approximately. You can get a 620 in fireglo for around 1500. It really depends on the model.
pls add a song , beetles or byrds with the jangly 360 sound !
have the toasters changed since the 60 ' ?
They used to have a much higher output, like 14k, when they were initially reissued, but a bunch of people complained and John Hall remade them to original specs. The output is 7.4k now.
@@chrissimpson7071 the high output ones are great. I've had a few rewound to be hotter, round about 11k
brian m...a and v music ...old timer...???...hey bro long time ...lol..!
Would love to hear 'eight miles high' on that sucker.
+Lothar Roberts You'd need the 12 string.
Can you remove the bridge cover to be able to mute the strings? It's a little silly to make those nowadays
Yes.
You can mute the strings, but it feels awkward and not as natural as on other guitars. I love my two Rickenbackers, but the bridge cover is frustrating. It looks nice aesthetically, but for practical purposes it's kind of annoying.
Honestly I just keep mine on, you’ll get used to doing it with it on, cheers
I have the cover not on mine, but when muting I kind of mute in a way that is not on top of bridge, so could just as well put cover back. Having the cover is a must. Unlike other brands where they just get you a guitar without an ashtray like it was meant to look like that... right
Not a 3 piece neck.. just colored strip of maple in the center.
James Butera
It is a 3 piece neck. The center is a separate piece of roasted maple or walnut, depending on the production year.
nice guitar but so expensive.
But worth it.
Playing some steppenwolf would make more sense than beatles
I can't listen to it properly with that fretbuzz
Best looking Rickenbacker! But let's face it....the only reason they sell is because of the Beatles influence!
It's not a very pretty guitar to be honest.
rick, you drank too much. it's a fucking beauty
Its obviously a personal view. I agree with Ralph, it's a beauty. But I can sort see why Rick doesn't like it: it's incongrous, a little large and awkward. I see the german chamfering, the gloss, great colour, tiger stripe! Love it!
It’s an acquired taste. I hated this design at first but it’s slowly growing on me.
I stepped in just to know if this beauty sounds as pretty as she looks.
