They've been doing this for 50 years and it still sounds as fresh and great as ever. I discovered them back in the '70s and have been a fan ever since. One of America's greatest bands. Long live Asleep At The Wheel!
This video was recorded back in 1992, although the DVD was not released until 2006.
Some of Texas Playboys have passed on since then, but I can confirm that Asleep at the Wheel still sounds as great as ever!
I been a fan of AATW for over 50 years!!!

I have enjoyed this song since 1987.

Another Super Great RocknRoll Band, Asleep At The Wheel. Gotta Love Em.
western swing band, dearie. like bob wills.
This song does not originate in Texas swing. It is arguably an early proto rock n roll song by Freddie Slack
A college buddy dragged me to the old Cabooze in Mpls to hear this band. It was the dead of winter, about -15f out and the band bus was late due to a raging snowstorm. When they finally got there and set up Ray was not in the best mood. Some drunk was throwing pennies at them and Ray threatened to kick his ass if he did it again. Then they blew the roof off the place. I treasure the memory.
Awesome story thanks for sharing. 23 years old and I love them
Super bowl of western swing tunes. Blue light. House of,

Should have given Cindy a mike. She was singing along with the boys! Great steel sound from her for 8.5 years with the group. I've been riding with The Wheel for over 50 years. Great band!

Damn it has been years since I heard this song!
The guy I remember singing this had a real deep voice
It was Chuck Miller. His version is on UA-cam. The original was recorded in 1946 by Ella Mae Morse.
