    I've had this fence system for a number of years and YES it is that accurate and YES it is that good. The ability to repeat cuts to dead-on accuracy amazes me every time. Installation is not quick and needs to be done carefully and not rushed. The installation instructions Incra supplies are top-notch. Very clear, easy to follow, and made for a successful installation with no having to fiddle around later. All of Incra's products, I have found, are this way. It's really a bargain for all that it does and does well.

    You make a good case for it :) You can take out some of the bump and pray for small adjustments with a dial indicator but that's no good for large adjustments. Plus my fence has a handy random adjustment feature when you lock it down which makes the whole dial indicator experience tons of fun.

    I've had one of these for the last seven or so years so I can say that Guy's review 100% accurate. I bought mine when I upgraded one of those awful pipe style fences on a Delta Contractor saw. I've since upgraded to a Jet cabinet saw. It came with with a Biesemeyer style fence that has never been used because I'll never let go of the Incra. (And yes, I have used a Biesemeyer on other saws.) What's more should you ever need it, their customer support is top notch. Nice review Guy!

    Very nice. I could definitely use one. Instead of the 'bump and tap', I've been using a clamped nut and threaded rod to push the fence when high accuracy is needed (i'm sure you've seen these DIY adjusters), but the INCRA looks like it would be more convenient.

      +GarageWoodworks Thanks Brian! I've watched the video you did (you did do one, didn't you?) on your micro adjust system. This goes way beyond that with being able to do repetitive cuts. I really wanted to get the Incra fence, but I don't have a lot of width in my shop and couldn't really handle that extra bit of fence poking out into the rest of the shop when I'm shuffling around between tools. Ended up with the VSC Tools fence and Wixey positioner. It's amazingly accurate, but definitely still involves bumping the fence around, just with a DRO :)

    • @GuysShop
      @GuysShop  8 років тому

      +Kirby Weldon Hey Kirby. That is something I thought about also before I pulled the trigger in it. After living with it a while, you quickly realize most of your cuts on the saw are under 12" or so. If you need to move it all the way back to use something like your sled, you get used to moving the fence back in so you don't bump into the carriage. It takes getting used too, but the benefits of the fence outweigh a few changes in method.

    Great review Guy. I'm been looking at this fence for a long time. Now I'm ready.
    I've read that the 32" model can do more that 32" if you move the rails to the right. Is this correct?
    I have a PM66 and the router would naturally go on the right side(where the wooden filler is from the operator position). How does the fence work in this case? ................ or does it?
    How much aggrivation to mount this system to a PM66? Is it a simple unbolt/rebolt system? JimE

    I am a huge Incra fan as a user of the router table system. This table saw fence looks like it is equally wonderful, however, it does not look like it has the ability to work where the fence is to the left of the blade. Is that correct? (like for bevel cuts, its much safer (for right tilting saws) to have the fence on the left so the work is not wedged between the blade and the fence.)

    As an engineer, I live with the same torment as you....... the quest to make perfect cuts, at the correct size, that are perfectly square. This fence is clearly just the ticket, and I can appreciate everything it does, and how it does it so repeatably. Now, if I can just figure out how to get it on my Hammer K3, and/or how to get one for the sliding table side of the K3, I would be in heaven. BTW, that's a curious shaped wound on your wrist..... hope that didn't come from a shop incident.

    What’s it like to fit to the table of the table saw? Surely it needs drilling and tapping of the table? Not that that can’t be done, but might be tricky drilling large accurate holes into the side of a cast iron table?

    Guy... My wish was granted! Thanks for the video. I know you showed everything but just to double check , you don't have to (or you don't) lock down the fence to the back or front rail before cuts?

    • @GuysShop
      @GuysShop  8 років тому

      Hey Joel. You do not have to lock down the fence to make cuts. The only time you might want to is if you are using feather boards attached to the fence. I have had the fence system for 3 years and have never found it necessary yet. There is very little if no notable deflection in the fence under force. Locking the front and back of the rail prevents it from being raised up in other words.

    Excellent demonstration. I've looked at this off and on and just placed my order for the metric version. Now I just need to wait patiently 5-6 weeks to get it.

    I have had the TS/LS system for a couple days now and I just noticed in your video, your fence is a lot longer than mine. Is that an add on fence or something?

    Great video, I am debating getting this fence because my engineering brain cant help but question my current fence. The only issue is that I dont like how far the positioner sits over the table when you are making full length rips. What would the downsides be of using the 17" positioner instead of the 32"? Seems like you could move the positioner right and left on the rails very easily and just have positive stops for different zero points.

      Thanks! 99% of the time, I am only setting the fence back 12" or less, so the arm doesn't sit over the edge of the saw that much. My shop set up allows me to have the postioner the full 32" over the edge, so it's not an issue. When I'm done making the cut, I simply pull it back in. I guess you could buy the system and put the 25" or the 17" positioner on it and use the positive stops for the larger cuts, but then you wouldn't be able to really use the incremental scale as easily. It may be more trouble than it's worth.

    Hi Guy, first time viewer after I found your podcast, very informative video and ad a beginner woodworker at the young age of 57 I find myself trying to make more jigs than projects and that p***es me off. I'm interested in spending some cash so I can get on and make some projects and I believe this set up would be very useful, what is the extra wing off your table saw and is that needed to use the Incra fence? My table saw has only 2 cast iron wings. Thanks again and look for my donation to Patreon for the podcast.

    That bolt on the end of the rail I assume is a stopper for the fence? If you removed it, the fence could continue off the rail unobstructed? I'm wanting to get the 32" model, then get another set of 32" rails to attach to a mobile cart so I could extend the width to 64" by pulling the other cart up to my main workbench. Do you think that would work? I have limited space and only have 32" in my garage for storage, but I could roll another cart next to it when I wheel the mobile workstation into the middle of the garage if that makes sense.

    Hey Guy, (love your podcast btw!) I was just curious. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to this 32" that you have compared to the 52" Incra offers? I'm debating on which one to get for my Delta 36-725 table saw. Thanks for the review of this fine piece of machinery!

    With that Incra TS-LS rail between your table saw and outfeed table, what is the distance there? I'm trying to build a workbench around my table saw (have not ordered my Saw Fence System yet) and I need to know the width of that rail so my outfeed table doesn't get in the way for when I install the Incra fence.

    Great review...maybe you can help.
    I am striving to create a similar setup as you with the exception of having my router added to the right-side table saw extension (where your black extension wing is located). In your opinion, do you think that if the based is moved as far right as possible (to the edge of the black extension wing) and the fence is moved as close to the base as possible, the Wonder Fence (when installed) would interfere with the router bit? Thanks in advanced.

    • @GuysShop
      @GuysShop  7 років тому

      Thanks Jeff. I am not 100% sure. It might, however it will severely limit the amount of space between the fence and the bit. That might be a question to ask the tech support team at Incra.

    Hey Guy (or other owners)! How do you store the fence and positioner assembly when you need to remove it from the saw to perform other operations? I'm wondering how well it can be safely hung (without damaging it) on a wall or if it breaks-down easily to store in pieces. I am thinking of those times when I will be using a miter, cross-cut sled, or tenoning jig (each of which I already own) and the protruding positioner arm would get in the way in my small shop.

    • @memilanuk
      @memilanuk 6 років тому +1

      Typically I just slide the fence and positioner off to the right, like you would for a wide rip cut. Do the work involving the sled, jig, etc. and then put the jig away and slide the fence back. It does have the locating bolts, so a person could slip it off and hang it on the wall easily enough if you needed the entire flat top of the saw unobstructed (like for assembly work).

    Great Incra Intro Video - It is one that led to purchasing the Incra 32 TS LS with Left side Router Table (Combo 1) which arrived this afternoon. Do you know of any sites that help with attaching/installing
    the TS LS on a RIDGID 4312 Table saw or any table saw .

      Hey Jim, I don't know of any videos that help with attaching that fence to your particular saw. The instructions are pretty straightforward. If you run into issues, call their support phone number, Mark is awesome!

    Guy, based on your review of this system I took the plunge and made the purchase and love it. I do have a question that maybe you can answer. I also purchased the router wing, incra mastr-lift and jessem on/off/speed control system, and I am finding that the incra wing bows/bends where wing mates with the cast iron table when I use the router. Did you attach your wing to the cast iron table with screws? BTW I have a Sawstop Professional. Thanks

    • @GuysShop
      @GuysShop  6 років тому

      Yes, it is attached with screws. I don't have the router in the wing, so I really have no experience with it. You might want to give Incra's tech support a call.

    I wish I would have waited to get mine, I bought the original incra table saw fence system when they first came out. It had many issues. I contacted the inventor at that time about my concerns and next thing I knew the TS II system came out that fixed many of the issues I had complained about and they have continued to greatly improve the system, but I am stuck with my mediocre old original system for now.

    • @GuysShop
      @GuysShop  7 років тому

      Hey Mike. I am not familiar with the original system. I took a look at the TSII and the TSIII and they look very similar to the current model with the exception of the positioner itself. Is it possible to upgrade a few parts to make it current? Have you contacted Incra to see of this is possible without replacing the entire system?

    • @mwils51
      @mwils51 7 років тому

      GuysWoodshop
      Thanks for the idea! I could have a decent system if I could replace the 1 1/4" tubular steel rails that came with the original TS with the aluminum extrusion on the current systems. That is by far the biggest issue because the original fence just rolled along the top of the rails and doesn't clamp to them in any way. That causes front and back movement of the fence unless I manually clamp it down front and back every time I move it, and there is not always a place to easily do that with the underside of my Delta Contractor saw . I don't see anywhere that they sale just the rails. And I would need everything to attach the current system to the rails. I was wondering about just buying something like this off Ebay:
      www.ebay.com/itm/72-T-Slotted-Framing-Extrusion-80-20-1515-72-/222274523876?hash=item33c09812e4:g:mIgAAOSw4shX-DpB
      It looks like I might be able to modify/cut the existing rail mounts to work. It also looks like the incra jig should mount right to the 1 1/2" extrusion with no issue, so I would just need to figure out a way for the front/back of the fence to tighten down to the extrusion.

    At about 9 minutes in, you were talking about fitting a drawer panel that was 13/64 (I think). You made 1 cut then advanced the fence 1/16”. Then you grabbed a handful on the micro adjust knob. You needed 5/64”. How many clicks is that? thnx
