Yeah it helps to clean with the blade off, I usually just pressure wash the bottom with the mower on it side anyway, but for demonstration purposes, or for ppl without a pressure washer, I showed using a screwdriver, (brush works too) to get the bulk grass clumps out to protect the deck from rotting
I hardly ever replace fuel filters. Most are inside the gas tank and only clean them out when a running issue occurs and no fuel flows. Compressed air cleaned them. If they are in line fuel filters I just inspect them, replace if dirty. Most new mowers dump the oil out the fill tube now. Run the engine to get the oil warm and mixed up with the sludge that settles on the bottom. Then dump to the side with the exhaust downward and the carb up towards the sky.
@@SHONEY21Z Thank you for the quick reply! When I was inspecting the right wheels I tilted the mower air intake down. Oil got on the air filter (oops) . I will replace the air filter. Do you think anything else got messed up that I should look into (spark plug?)?
@@MKSchmitt13nah it should run, might smoke for a minute or two but it’ll burn off. Could pull the spark plug and clean it if you want to. Not necessary tho
I usually pressure wash the deck, top and bottom, careful not to get too close to peel the paint or stickers. Then I use a cleaner/polish like Honda spray cleaner and polish. If the plastics have lost their shine, I’ll use a torch on low setting and heat up the plastic lightly to bring back the original color. Sometimes this doesn’t work, just depends on the type of plastic.
Wouldn't checking the oil level by screwing it in cause you to under fill the oil inside of over filling because the level would read higher on the dip stick as your dumping in further down into the oil. I have this same mower and didn't know that's how to change check the level. Just checked mine the correct way and it's only half filled. Been running it like that for a couple years now. Oops.
Yeah for Honda engines, you just place the dipstick on the thread and then pull it out. Don’t screw it in. You’ll be running on low oil if you do that.
Negative. Sometimes I do if the plug looks old or if it looks very black. 99% of the time, spark plugs are fine. Every once in a while they are the issue. I’ve had spark plugs that were 50 years old still work, so the likelihood of a 5-10 year old plug being an issue is rare. I usually clean it tip with a torch and wire brush.
@@maryalcantara9984sounds like you either overfilled the oil or you tilted it on its side and oil ran out the breather into the air intake. You’ll have to replace the air filter and then start the mower outside and let it run for about 5 mins h til it stops smoking. Make sure the oil level is right before replacing the filter.
Excellent walk thru… Thanks🎯
Yw thanks for commenting!
Great video, just bought this lawnmower, but id be easier to clean underneath with blade off I thought

@@SHONEY21Z that's for the video, you were straight forward with everything
How frequently do I need to change the fuel filter? Does the oil drain out the fill port or is there a separate exit?
Professional vid, thank you!

How about checking and adjusting the ABS once a year?? (lol)
Cheers from New Brunswick, Canada (eh)
Haha one of these days I’m gonna have a video on ABS. But prob not soon lol. Cheers
@@SHONEY21Z How about the sparkplug fluid? 😉
Haha
What do you use to clean the outside housing and make it shine again?
Are you talking about the painted deck or the plastic engine cover?

What type of oil you changed?
I mean which grade oil I should add?
Most small engines call for SAE30. I use 10W30 synthetic for summer 4 stroke engines and I use 5W30 for snowblowers

Hi, my filter has oil, and when I turned on smoke coming out from the oil place. What it will be the problem? Thank you
Are you saying it’s leaking oil or it’s burning oil? (White smoke)
Blue smoke, I found oil on the filter.
