No talk about dropping this ridiculous model of only signing teenagers or bringing in a quality experienced manager however they are prepared to renew a few seats and hand dryers and do something with the pitch.Wow forget about improving the team and squad depth.Bloody mind blowing.
I will only be returning to the SOL when this regime have sold up and hopefully replaced by an ambitious owner.Its time the fans made a stand for the good of SAFC.
They are saying they are going through a thorough process AGAIN to appoint the right candidate which last time resulted in MB being chosen.I have zero confidence in this lot.Unemployed yes man managers need only apply.
I really believe they have no clue who will be the next manager. I think they still think everything is rosy in the SOL garden and we will all be happy and tag along with their games.

Maybe the stadium needs some improvements but for me the priority has to be adding some experience to the squad and appointing a new manager/head coach. If we fail to address the issues on the playing side we could well be heading back to League 1 after next season.
What ever is spent at SOL, at least four or five times as much is needed on the playing staff.
All this investment and they can’t afford to put the hand driers on or the televisions are switched off constantly in the so called premier concourse people will want to see who the new managers is and what players we get before committing to season digital tickets I think we ll just get match day tickets as it stands

Taking into account that I can't attend games anymore the only things that top my list for improvement are a new head coach/manager who can deliver entertaining attacking football , quality proven players with experience and a top quality pitch to play the game on although I do sympathise with fans who also want a stadium with all the bells and whistles or more bang for their buck but count yourselves lucky the club aren't increasing season card prices by more in order to finance the upgrades.
To me. "Committed" too and doing are two completely different things.

Alright Wayne, as uve already touched on these ground improvements are long over due but am gob smacked as why they had to make such a big announcement about it. I wud expect those improvements to be made as standard I mean if it were your house u wud that needed some TLC you wud just do it, I wud rather the investment be spent on the team cos if not it smacks of just polishing a turd.
Hi Mark mate, hope ya well. It's purely to try and sell season tickets and I'm not buying it. Like you say these things are day to day maintenance not a massive investment. We spoke about there would be some promises come out before the season ticket announcements......well here it is. Guess where not getting Klop as manager next season then hahahaha.
Wayne, i dont care about his spin, i agree the important thing is the squad, perhaps some improvements are due to h&s, as for renewing ticket, not a chance !, hell will freeze over before i buy while speakman is there
I‘m afraid that the stadium upgrade & season ticket price increase is part of KLD‘s plan to sell the club in the summer,when he hopes
to get a better price for the club. The sooner he goes the better……. By the way he will almost certainly sell Clarke for 20 mil before he sells leaving us high and dry next season.
I think there is still something in those rumours me John. If he is planning to sell, your right he will sell all the assets, Clarke, Ballard, Neil, Pattison and Hume will all be gone.

You're right to prioritise the team Wayne. Unfortunately Dreyfuss doesn't seem to have the same priority. My main concern is this stadium uograde announced niw is an attempt to buy time to sell Jack Clarke, Dan Neil, Dan Ballard et all in July. Also, Speakman going may not get to the heart of the problem if he has simply been the paid enforcer for the owners. I find it extraordinary and unacceptable that Dreyfuss/Sartori have said nothing about the shocking deterioration in the team. That's a minimum, otherwise, for me, they ain't being sincere. I recently read that before buying into SAFC Dreyfuss said he would never get involved with any football club as they were all run on a corrupt basis (I paraphrase). So, what changed his mind?
The silence is deafening David. Not once statement to apologise to the fans for the shambles of a season. Instead a promise of a new pitch and and new floodlights is meant to make us all happy? I don't think so Mr Dreyfus. I'm yet to understand what Sartori actually does to be honest.
@@onlyfoolsandsafc I think they have run out of explanations so they stay quiet in the hope we critics burn ourselves out. At present, I can see them trying to get through the summer with a lot of money coming in from transfers in July (Clarke the jewel in the crown); a few more kids and another short-term manager brought in; and they then try and wing it for the next 6-12 months before leaving claiming a good job done (with us 17th in the Championship and the team average age 20). It's bonkers, and the only driving motives I can see in all this chaos is money and good reputation.

The stadium does need some work done and if they go through with it great fantastic but if these are fully committed and have no intentions of selling up then they need to invest in the playing squad as well cos this summer is there last chance to get this right cos even the most positive and optimistic fans will turn on this lot if we have a 4th window of mediocrity and more inexperienced kids, I still want these gone but unfortunately it doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime soon but while they are here they need to really deliver this summer cos this season has been an absolute shambles on and off the pitch

It's like Speakman has put Dodds in charge and then gone on his holidays! I hope that he's been relieved of his duties and KLD is seeking a new Sporting Director not up there own arse and will allow a manager to manage. Time will tell mate. Cheers

Hi Wayne, I think that the stadium upgrades are a good thing for the fans that go to watch them. As for people like myself who can't go, and there will be far more of us, it'll mean bo-diddly.
We don't know yet, what their plans for recruitment is going to be in the summer. It's what happens on the pitch that matters to me, so come on KLD, spend a bit of dosh and make it worth my while for me to buy next seasons shirt. By the way, I used to go all the time in my younger days. Aah, the memories!!
Hi David, Great comments. Surely your right and have to start spending money on the team.....spending a couple of million on the stadium, may make him an extra 10 million of he's planning to sell it. And you have definitely seen the best Sunderland when you used to go, that's for certain mate.

We'd go down to the beach to pick cockles 🐚, take them back to his nana's have some dinner then go up to the game 🕒. After the game we'd 🏃 run back, down through the town for our tea and then home with a jar of cockles. A proper day out, and all the better when we won. My love for Sunderland was cemented back in those days.
I don't understand anyone renewing their season ticket, why pay if we're not getting what we are paying for on the pitch, if you bought a pack of 12 beers and it only contained 10 would you buy another pack?, ofcourse not !!. Also there's no point moaning or criticising the owners speakman dodds or the players if fans continue financially supporting them, pointless !!!

I've been a season ticket holder in Black cats bar for the past 6 seasons. This seasons price was £720 and next season is £790, an increase of £70. This club has killed this bar over the past 2 seasons and killed the match day experience. Taken out the complimentary food and pre match speaker and the whole place could do with a refurb. Don't see how they justify an increase of £70 and the way we were treated for the NCL match. This club is a piss take. Beer is nearly £6 per pint too 😢
I can not understand people complaining about the state of the pitch, it should be in Pristine condition with all the SHIT that goes on it every other Week,

I don't think have a clue mate. The odds today say Roy Keane is favorite. He wouldn't come here and work with Speakman for any amount of money. That's why he turned us down last year.
Very happy about the stadium upgrades and not before time. Prices of tickets? It's a way of life now not just football, prices don't stay the same. New players? Only an idiot at the club would say we're going to flash the cash in the summer. Why? Well, anyone we're interested in, add a few million to the price because they know we're i abuying market. Softly, softly on new players.

It’s a good thing to fix in the stadium. It’s about time but you need to sort the team out and get better players in for the pitch. If you haven’t got that what’s a point paying £420 watching shit? We love the club and they know that we’re gonna renew our season tickets, I renewed my season ticket but I’m getting second thoughts thinking about it now. I should’ve waited and see who’s coming in. Who’s leaving? Who’s gonna be the manager? What’s gonna happen to the club? I don’t trust the owner I think it’s shit he talks yes he’s fixing the stadium well done it’s about time and then an hour later season tickets renewals comes out. We’ll see what happens in the summer because they don’t want to pay Big wages, I must pay £50,000 a week for a player to pay decent money, this is why Jack Clark will be leaving because I don’t wanna pay the wages what’s gonna happen if we go to the Premier League you have to pay the wages but the owners we’ve got and they won’t change their minds. We’re too soft. We don’t say we only say it on social media fuck social media do at the stadium when they’re there.

Seems that keeping people safe is a law as is the stadium getting up to code HSE. The boiler is broken has been for years using a generator.. so that's 300k there. The facilities are broken and that's another 400k the cooking and bar facility's are a joke, bet they only get new bars towels and tea towels. Broken chairs and vandalised parts of the black cats bar. 150k. Flood lights 80k. Sound system 75k. Repair the pitch and underfloor heating system 350k. So it's about 1 to 2 million. All on capex spending it improves the sellability of the Club. Can be put down as a tax dodge and watch it be sold with Keano coming back with an iron fist. No more KLD All vouching staff will be replaced, dieticians ,physios kit men the lot. Slate wiped clean won't be pretty but be something to watch. Might even get to keep All the assets
