Mike Lowther on bass is not something I was expecting to see, but it ended up being something I never knew I needed in my life. So for that alone, and the actual song, I thank you, Nate.
I personally like his non fandom tracks like this, we get to hear him on full display as himself, not behind the lense of another character, and it feels so raw
SAME! His original songs were my introduction to him and while his video game-based stuff are good, these just feel so . . . yeah, you said it best. They’re “raw” and have this gritty feeling that can draw you in. Nowadays, it seems like his fandom tracks can be seen as standalone songs and you wouldn’t realize they’re based on a video game or cartoon just by listening. I think it’s some of the word choices and the sounds they use that differentiate them from his originals. You can kinda feel the intended theme being slapped on to fit in with whatever franchise it’s supposed to be based on, but the originals feel more like Nate’s real voice singing what he wants to say in the way he prefers to express it.
Same. they're some of my favorite songs by far. I've been listening to Sandcastle Kingdoms and Paid in Exposure almost constantly since their releases.
I just found this song, I'm surprised he's actually doing original songs again. It's been so long. I stopped liking the "English covers" when I realized there's almost no actually translation being done or even translyrics it's just a completely different song with a similar instrumental The fandom stuff I've never really enjoyed because yes it keeps the lights on for Nate and the crew but it just felt like wasted potential for awhile. Paid in exposure was over 4 years ago. I did like the return to full versions of some of his past covers though I'll say that.
This song is like a punch to the face (emotionally speaking). That feeling of wanting someone's approval so bad, of pushing yourself beyond your limits just to impress them, only to get nothing in return, and how you need to push yourself even harder to cut them from your life. I might be trying to relate it to stuff in my personal life too hard, but that's what I took away from it anyway
This comment resonated with me too well. To let go of something or someone that was important to you is very tough. The tendency to fall back into that toxic relationship keeps people from moving on.
I like how this song has a couple parts where it seems like a verse or chorus repetition is gonna be in a soft/saddened/pensive tone, but it immediately goes back to power singing.
Don't think I haven't noticed those callbacks! Great stuff! I am so happy to be here for a few original album! "You don't contain no empathy" - Callback to Take Me Anywhere "A thousand whitened smiles, but none contain no empathy" "You can't find the nerve to wish me well" - Callback to Manipulate "Maybe you could find the strength, to smile and wish me well" "I'll take the fall and lose it all" - Callback to We Are Ignited "Don't look before you take the fall Who knows when you could lose it all"
Little bit more of a stretch, but "all I ever wanted was for you to have some faith in me" and "Need you to see me, and know what it's like to be me - If you could just believe me" from Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
"As time moves on, I say you're gone but it feels the same" - callback to Time To Move On "It's time to let go, time to move on, time to take on a different name"
The melody of "Suffocate and compensate, ’til I’m empty in the end and you still take when I got nothing left" is similar enough or the same as "Madness" before the chorus. Also might be a stretch but "Your photographs they show somebody else" might be a callback to Branded's line "The mirror showed somebody else", since both lines are talking about who it should show but it doesn't. And every time I hear the pre-chorus my brain tries to sing "nothing to me" and go "and you still take when I got nothing left. You running from the consequence you won't reap. Sell me out in the end, were you ever a friend?" etc.
The whole post-chorus starting with "How much farther underwater can I sink? I'll never know" feels like a very heavy callback to Branded's bridge "Learning how to sink before I take the time to swim." The whole song honestly feels to me like a continuation or response to Branded imo. Like the two different sides of him arguing about his place in the music industry.
As Nate said once in his instagram, to let it go is about a attempt to forget past traumas and such, this year i started to suffer with anxiety and depression due to something to me (make me remember some past traumas) and this song is a good way to help me
The line “Now I can barely hold on, what I need is strength to let go” has literally been getting me through these past weeks. The full album releases on Monday and I literally CANNOT WAIT. Nate, you’re incredible. Always appreciate what you do, man.
I seriously didn't expect him to drop this today! I was literally counting down the days until the 24th. This song sounds so unbelievably amazing! Please keep up the good work Nate and always remember that you have an amazing community that has and will continue to support you always!!! Keep on rockin!
This is honestly the best song you have written nate. As a huge music nerd and a big fan I honestly say this song hit all the points and passed with flying colors. Thank you Nate for helping me make such amazing memories with your amazing music! Love you!!
How do you keep pushing out songs that help me out with *exactly* what I'm going through in life at that *exact* moment? Legit every original you've released has caught me at the most poignant part of my life. I'm really happy you're back to doing originals man, keep up the killer work!
This song is incredible on soo many levels. From the caring opening to the raging chorus. Everyone is a star the Guitarist the Drummer and Nate Singing is all balanced so perfectly and they all compliment each other. Congrats on you 3rd original album i cannot wait for the rest.
This song hits so hard right now for me. Im going through some really bad stuff with my mother and this song is a perfect representation of my feelings and pain.
Unfortunately I'm JUST going to miss the premiere, because I'm "only human" and need to do things like "sleep", but the first thing I do when I wake up is going to be blast this as loud as I can, because I already know it's going to be a certified banger. Can't wait. EDIT: I was right.
Alittle late, but nate if you see this. Thank you for coming back, you’ve been a huge part of my life and to see you come back with a new original album really means alot to me as im sure alot of people. Your writing skills and vocal work is amazing and i cant wait to hear the rest of the album thank you for the work you’ve done~
I thought we wouldn't get any more NWTB music, so when the news for the new album dropped I cried tears of joy. Fantastic first song, looking forward to the rest!
I'm pretty sure that what's hapenning is that he won't make fandom inspired music anymore. You see, if you analyse the lyrics of some of his FNAF songs, you'll notice that some of them have nothing to do with the story of the series. "Madness" is a really good example of this. They're about the feeling of being stuck with making FNAF music. Similar thing to "Leave Me Behind".
@@Esteves2102 yeah for sure. i think it was pretty clear that scrap heap was an album about fnaf but not really ABOUT fnaf. like those were definitely more personal and about real life stuff than they were about a video game
I'm here to honor Nate's last original album (for now I believe) and it's titular song, as well as his music in general, after his retirement was annouced today. Thank you Nate for all of the wonderful tunes over the past decade. It was a good battle while it lasted.🎵🎶
This song is literally my new obsession, the energy, emotion and just overall sound of it is gorgeous. Your music has never failed to constantly surpass expectations and be a joy to listen to. You're easily one of the best music artists I've ever came across and I'm so glad I did discover you.
Man, if this is a sign for what the rest of the album is going to be then it bodes very well!! It really shows how your sound has evolved since your last full original album. The lyricism is pretty similar, and you've really refined it over the years with the level of personal talk while it being general enough for it to resonate with a lot of people. Very cool!
Your music is my comfort, Nate. Your original music is powerful and amazing! I’m glad I found you back when you were coming out with FNAF music- but I’m more proud to admit that I’m sticking around for any song you make afterwards. I can’t WAIT for my pre-order of this album to come in!
Its vintage yet new. We see the something old, yet there's a new polished and refined look to you and the band. If this is just the tip of the iceberg I cannot *wait* to see what you have in store for the new album.
When we collide the worst and darkest parts of me come back to life Memories and promises, were they all just for show? Your photographs they show someone else! This song is incredible 😭💜
Wow. And I thought Time to Move On would’ve been enough to jerk some tears. But man, I was a mess listening to this. The vocals and lyrics are incredible, and the additional screams and chord progressions really helps the song maintain that saddening/rageful feel of the song. If this is just the start, I’m super de-duper excited for the rest of the album ❤️
This song was phenomenal!!! I’m losing my mind over it actually. Was already pumped for this album but now it can’t come out soon enough. You’ve really found your sound Nate and I’m living for it
freaking hell, I've been waiting for many years for this moment to be repeated. It's incredible to hear your original work again Nathan, Phantom was a spectacular work and it left me wanting to hear more from you for many years.
The fact that this song has been Released on my birthday feels like a treat. It's honestly times like now that I forgot just how much I loved Nate's music. It reminded me of when Sandcastle Kingdoms came out and how I felt when I first heard those songs. That same feeling has come back. The song instantly sucked me in and I instantly fell in love with this song. I'm super excited for the next album .
I love how this song matches what I’m currently going through at the moment. It’s actually helping me realize that I don’t need to stress and feel anxious, that I don’t owe anyone anything for the sake of my mental health. Thank you, Nate for such an amazing song! ❤
Another banger as always, Nate! This was well worth the hype and I will definitely be streaming this album! I'm absolutely loving the rawness of this song!
Wow, I have to say that I absolutely loved your latest music video! The visuals were stunning, and the way you incorporated the lyrics into the story was so creative. Your voice sounded amazing as always and the melody was so catchy, I can't stop humming it. Keep up the great work, you have a true musical talent, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
An unexpected, but very much welcome surprise. This was an absolute joy all the way through. Phenomenal job as always to anyone and everyone who assisted.
Yk it's rlly insane bc all of nates songs sound similar, yet completely unique individually. I've never heard any other artist make so many songs and make them SO AMAZING, yet so different w out entirely copying a similar melody. He incorporates some parts of songs into other songs, but the rest is completely unique and it all is so so cool and all of it is just so so beautiful. I'd give anything to see this man in concert, srsly
They say music comes from the heart and soul. Thank you for showing the most vulnerable, powerful, unique, and complex parts of your heart with us over the years, Nate. No matter what you do or where you chose to take your career, just know you'll never be alone. 🙏
Absolutely love the sound and lyrics of the song. Nate’s originals are always such bangers. Listening to this in a back to back with All I See is gonna give mega feels. So excited for the rest of the album!
This song hits so different for me right now. This is EXACTLY how I feel/felt about my last relationship that lasted 2 years. The break up is still somewhat recent so this just hits different. And as always, you killed it Nate!
This legit has me in tears. When I said I was gonna heavily relate to this...I RELATED to this...The lyrics, the video, everything is just perfectly put together. Those lyrics cut deep, man. I feel like this album is gonna heal me in ways people are not gonna get. I have been through so much shit this last year or more, and this really did come at a good time for me. When I say ur music has literally saved me...I mean it. It really has. I have the NWTB scissor logo tattooed on my right wrist to remind me that things are gonna be okay eventually. Thank you for everything you do Nate
My fav tracks from artists are ones like these i know the songs based on popular media will always get more views but songs like this have an emotional energy that no other songs have. Other examples is 'lazy' and 'Hit the snooze' from the living tombstone and 'metamorphosis'from monarch/amalee there's this personal relatability that just makes them so good, just like 'to let go'
I’m hyped for the album man like the delivery of the lines shows so much The timing of this music video is absolutely crazy like the fact I got kinda sucked back into listening to Nate’s previous original albums is wild Thinking about all that’s happened over the span of like at least half a decade like man that’s awesome I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album
gonna go ahead and leave a comment because I've listened to this 20 times since it's come out and just wanted you to know, this shit slaps Nate, I love the emotion that went into this track.
I'm living for this - it just feels so raw, especially with the contrasting few areas where the tone shifts - suddenly louder or quieter, it just adds so much more interest to the song; and as usual, superb production
Really glad Nates done this new Album I wont lie, when he started doing non fandom music it wasnt really for me back then, but now this albums releasing I wanted to go back and give the non fandom stuff another shot Now i have CDs for both Sandcastle Kingdoms and Paid In Exposure and the albums are in my spotify playlists too and I'll be getting this Album too
i’ve been so so excited for this and your new album, it was everything i expected it to be and more. i’m looking forward to To Let Go so much more now, congratulations on the release !!!
THIS WAS HECKING AWESOME!!! If this is a banger already, cant wait to hesr the rest! I already heard the demo and theres 2-3 big possible faves incoming! Keep up and keep on rockin Nate!
This song is honestly awesome man, it’s great to see you doing more songs about stuff you like besides ya know, games and stuff. Don’t feel obligated to make thousands of fnaf songs, do whatever you want, making music should give one the feeling of happiness and joy.
I don't usually come out and comment much due to social anxiety, But As someone who's been a fan for a few years now and loved the hell out of your original music, I'm so so excited. Keep doing you Nate! ❤❤❤
Hey Nate hopefully you read this. I just want to let you know how much of a positive impact your music has had on me. Your songs are so relatable and have helped me in my lowest lows. You saved me from ending it all. Your my hero Nate. When I lost my nan, my dog and felt alone your music made me feel like I was no longer alone. When I was self harming and trying to commit suicide I found you, your music and just as I was going to actually do it a song of yours played, it related to me so much, made me feel not so alone. If it wasn't for you I would be dead right now. I am forever grateful to you and I hope I'll be able to talk about it all on Instagram or something properly.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I think that's iconic part of every his songs

I feel like this album is gonna heal me in ways people are not gonna get. I have been through so much shit this last year or more, and this really did come at a good time for me. When I say ur music has literally saved me...I mean it. It really has. I have the NWTB scissor logo tattooed on my right wrist to remind me that things are gonna be okay eventually. Thank you for everything you do Nate
Nate's voice is just so iconic
My fav tracks from artists are ones like these i know the songs based on popular media will always get more views but songs like this have an emotional energy that no other songs have. Other examples is 'lazy' and 'Hit the snooze' from the living tombstone and 'metamorphosis'from monarch/amalee there's this personal relatability that just makes them so good, just like 'to let go'
Loved old Nate music, that once was before Anime Cover Age, so happy to hear it again.
Not saying the covers are bad, but this is the good stuff.
The song was so fire that the house started to burn down. 🔥🔥🔥
Yet another banger!
Amazing! Absolutely amazing!! ✨
I’m hyped for the album man like the delivery of the lines shows so much
The timing of this music video is absolutely crazy like the fact I got kinda sucked back into listening to Nate’s previous original albums is wild
Thinking about all that’s happened over the span of like at least half a decade like man that’s awesome
I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album
Worth the wait this is amazing and my daughter and me are dying for another tour! Chicago is waiting for you Nate!!! ❤❤❤
Dammnn those high notes, I'm already in love with this song and excited for the rest to come !!
This is not just S tier; it's on a God tier level.
This pretty much instantly became my favorite song ever, it just hits so hard. Amazing job man and I can't wait for the full album!
As soon as I saw it was up, I walked away to listen to it. It definitely didn't disappoint. This song is amazing. You're awesome Nate
"Your photographs, they show somebody else" absolute chills!
LET THIS MAN COOK!!!
The feels are insane
Man I've always loved Nate's originals but this blew my expectations out of the water this hits so hard.
gonna go ahead and leave a comment because I've listened to this 20 times since it's come out and just wanted you to know, this shit slaps Nate, I love the emotion that went into this track.
Absolutely glued to this, keep coming back, can't wait for the album !
I'm living for this - it just feels so raw, especially with the contrasting few areas where the tone shifts - suddenly louder or quieter, it just adds so much more interest to the song; and as usual, superb production
I can't state how excited I am for the album. New original music is just, so good. This song, amazing, and I'm sure the rest will be just as good
I’m not kidding. At this point I listened to this song over 20 times on repeat and I’m still not bored. Who else did the same?
Been playing it for the whole month it’s been out damn already?
All I See has been my ringtone since it came out, but this is definitely replacing it. Holy shit I can't wait for the full album.
Man this hits really hard
you did very well with this one
I'm getting some HUGE Dayseeker vibes from this. If the rest of the album is like this, then we got something to rival Paid in Exposure.
WOW! This was so amazing and beautiful to hear the song has a bunch of emotions and the singing is just phenomenal good job Nate!
Really glad Nates done this new Album
I wont lie, when he started doing non fandom music it wasnt really for me back then, but now this albums releasing I wanted to go back and give the non fandom stuff another shot

Nate you are so good at what you do. I really hope you never stop creating whatever you are inspired to create!
That was absolutely incredible!
This song gives me the chills in a good way. Love the lyrics, hope the new album is successful!!
I’m so glad we are getting more original tracks! Keep up the great work Nate!
I am forever grateful to you and I hope I'll be able to talk about it all on Instagram or something properly.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
the only artist i get hyped for new albums. I continue to absolutely love every one of your songs nate
