There is also "Tax Rates Upload" Plugin that works well and very easy to set up.
I have just bought the premium version of the Virtue WordPress theme. It has everything I need and it looks nice. Although I have a relatively in-depth knowledge of WordPress I watched your video out of curiosity and I very much enjoyed it. Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to create this video. I can't tell you how many times I tried to watch one, then another of these videos on building an ecommerce site with WP. I just wasn't taking anything in, couldn't really even get started, and I'd end up with the video in pause more than play trying to figure something out. Wading through all the themes was also difficult because I knew nothing even so far as what to look for. And then, questions like, is the item I want to edit part of WP, woocommerce, or virtue premium became obstacles.
What finally helped me in absorbing what you're saying is that I gained some perspective of what I was aiming to do with WP. When I realized that in designing a functional WP ecommerce site, my goal was to list a product and make it look like I wanted for it to be presented to my potential buyers. In a nut shell, that's it; just make one product look the way you want it to. It's all about the product.
What would be even more help would be for you to tour us through websites to demonstrate various options, and maybe tell us how we can accomplish that particular effect. Maybe you could show the various sliders, how they differ, and when you might use one over another; show examples. Maybe you could compare a number of themes, and what makes one work better than another for various types of products. Why might I want to buy the premium version of a theme? What plugins might I find especially useful?
To do something like this might require a series rather than a single long video, but I think it might be particularly useful to people who are looking to improve what they have done already.
I quite like Virtue Premium which does a lot that the free version doesn't do. Some of the image magic is especially cool. Check out any of the gallery pages at www.yarn.rehab to see some of what I mean.

You're welcome! It's pretty hard to find information at what I might call an advanced beginner or intermediate level for WP users, though there is a large volume for beginners. I haven't seen a lot for advanced users, either. You have a pleasant way about you, and you present the material you're covering at a good pace. It's easy to see why you have so many followers. It helped me feel much less overwhelmed about creating a website! :D I have a question though, I'm not receiving any emails from my contact page, even though it says the email was sent successfully. I was using a Yahoo email, then changed to Gmail, then to a BlueHost domain name email because I thought it was the email address's problem. Still no luck. Help!
Hi Vanessa, sounds like you still need to set-up your email within the Contact Form settings: go to the contact form you created, click 'edit' and change the email address on this page to the email you are using. Hope this helps!

Hello Katharina, Thank you so much for your fabulous explanation in this course! I lost a lot of time figuring out how does WordPress work, and an extra handicap is that English is not my native tongue, so this slows it also down. Now I am at 1/4 of your tutorial and I noticed that I don't have as much icons as you have when I edit a page. How can I extend this? Smileys are always nice. With Ädd Media"this is not possible. Thank you for your help and may be if it is necessary I will ask you again (if you don't mind).

When using HTML img tag always put the width and height size in even if the picture is the size you want it. Its better coding and loads fast.

Edwin Tineo- "I HAVE FOUND THE FIX FOR OUR PROBLEM" :-). If you keep seeing page not found when you click on your portfolio post you likely need to re-save your permalinks. Just go to Settings >> Permalinks in your wordpress admin and click the save button at the bottom. That worked for me.

I have followed all your tutorials for my site, which is a surfing photography site. I am now trying to set up an e-commerce element to it so I can sell the images online. I have hundreds of High and Low Rez images, they dont all need individual attributes etc. Just say 50 images taken on this day etc
How would I achieve this with woocommerce?

Would you consider doing a video simply to explore the shipping charges? It is hard to figure out. Most of us can't really offer free shipping or even the flat rate. I ship multiple items to US and to canada and those price vary widely. If someone buys one item it should be a base price, then a bit more for each additional item they may buy. And then again the international customers will be paying alot more but it varies depending on how many items they order and how much it all weighs. I have tried to figure this out and seems every video I see, everyone just does the free shipping or flat rate, both of which are not very realistic for business. I really appreciate your videos, you are awesome! Thank you so much!

In setting up the portfolio pages, it is important to give the images an attribute number. Keeping the attribute number at 0 for all the portfolio pages causes the carousel to display no images.

Truly a wonderful and very informative video. I do take one issue with the projected time to put up the site. Your video is 2 hours and :17 minutes. I sure It must have taken you a little longer than that to produce this video. Two hours is hugely unrealistic. I mean like 1000 miles off. otherwise I am finding your video spot on. Thanks for your hard work which most likely took you weeks or months to produce a video of this caliber :)

What I actually want is something like 3-6 boxes on the homepage that will link the user to the product categories. (Based on the portfolio boxes)

Great tutorial.. im loving it.. gonna implemented on my Food catering business... im having a problem tho.. when i try to create my portfolio and im following every step every time that update and view page, the page aint loading.. i got a message instead that says: Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.

Hi cm Jong, I'm not able to comment directly. Hope you see this. In the top bar on the right, there is an icon that opens up the full menu. Try clicking that button to see the other icons. Hope this helps!

Hi Katrinah thank you for the excellent video for the virtue theme, I found it really good to follow apart from adding portfolio types, It did not work for me all I get is Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist. It looks like this was the result of either:
a mistyped address, an out-of-date link you start adding portfolio items around 56mins into your video but only add a portfolio page afterwards around 109minutes, i don't understand why we have a portfolio attribute built into the theme but yet we still need to add a portfolio page? maybe you could explain also above all have you any idea why I cannot view the page, I followed your tutorial and everything was fine until i got to this part. Hi Katrinah. My biggest thanks and deepest gratitude to you for the help that you have offered so many people including me. I hope you are reaping the rewards for it. I, however have found a stumbling block in the virtue theme and am hoping for all it is worth that you can help me figure it out. I have used the other resources to find the answer but they have all come up empty handed. Some how I have in my admin panel two options listed as "portfolio". One is accompanied by an image icon and the other a files icon. This is confusing me as to which one of these I use because when I only use the "item" post option it doesn't link to the "Portfolio" page built for them. Or should I say that the featured image shows up in the carousel but it does not link to the page for it. Busy as you are I hesitated in asking but you may be my only hope. Yah's blessings...
Was wondering if there is a special woocommerce example for setting up to sell canvas paintings, prints, etc. Using different sizes and prices. And..especially anything that would let customer put mat and frame on painting and choose. Thanks so much, your videos are awesome.
hi carolyn, you could use woocommerce and set-up different attributes/variations for the variety of sizes/prices of products. re: trying out a mat and frame on a print, there may be a plugin out there to facilitate this. otherwise, if you have an example image with and without mat/frame you could offer this as a separate product perhaps, or as a variation of the same print. just an idea. i'm not familiar with special plugins for this but i'm sure there's one out there, i would do a search. so glad the videos are helpful. thanks for your comment.

This is in regards to the Portfolio page. At the point in time 55:41 the video an actual portfolio page has not yet been created as far as I can tell. It is at this time that portfolio items will be added. Was the portfolio page supposed to have been created by the installation of the WooCommerce plugin?

I've recently begun to create a business website for our furniture store in Vegas using this theme. I'm a bit confused though, I'm trying to keep it simple with no posts, and I want to display our menu by different categories like, Bedroom sets, Living room, dining etc. and in every page put a lot of photos with prices and description, but I don't want to use the shopping cart for now.. Is this possible? If so, can you please explain? I'm new to this and I'm super lost lol.. Thank you!

The majority of the products I will be offering will be variable products, now, When checking the page from the user "side",for some reason when it comes to pick the different attributes from the drop-down lists, the selection does not occur right away, you have to kind of select it again to actually be selected is like it freezes. Any idea why this might happen

With that, are you aware of a way to change the main "stylesheet skin color" with themes such as Virtue? In the "Theme Options" / "Basic Styling" section, I believe there are 3 different options built into the template, none of which I can use unfortunately. In fact, there have been a few templates I like, however, the built in colors of the templates are not appropriate for my esthetic needs.
Is this something that can be done in developer tools by changing the css.style?

HI. Is there a way to remove the blog post on the front page. Have it is the widget side and also it's own page. I just want to put a text box on the front page, just not the blog. This is my first time creating a word press site, thank you thank you for presenting such a great tutorial.

I have just one problem - I have completed my first post and my blog archive page tells me the page does not exist!
