Yooo this video was slick and as a fellow tutorial creator I know the pain of doing the 8 takes of the same start of a sentence to get the delivery right 😭❤️
That what makes it though! I got caught up in Quanity over Quality, because its hard to keep up with everybody making content so fast, but "they" have "TEAMS" of people in Germany and places outside the US. Everybody is "a boss" now so nobody wants to be a "Co-founder" of something great like a "joe budden, no jumper, math hoffa"..... There's so many ways to take meetings nowadays it really doesn't make sense!
Just as a nerdy side note to this video but Manny Marroquin said he mixed part of this album on vacation and used the Audeze lcd-x to mix on. Just thought I’d share
Good to know. I thought that some songs deserved a liiiittle better vocal mixing, then I saw than Manny Marroquin mixed it and was confused since he is a legend obviously. Surely has to be due to the fact that they were recording in the control room which is relatively untreated as far as I can see
Ok those mixes don't sound that amazing to be fair...feel like those mixes are very pumped but not dynamic or no analogue warmth/distortion...could have had better instrument separation as well.
Thanks for being transparent and real with your video editing 🤝🏽 It’s honestly inspiring, just letting us see the flaw’s let’s us know it’s possible if that makes sense.
I'm surprised how simple his studio is. Yeah his monitor rig is huge but outside of that I see an iMac with Pro Tools, a 3K, a Live 2, a nice vocal chain, and some decks. I dig it.
I had the privilege to meet AyoJuan, He’s a real humble & genuine dude. He dropped some Gems and even shot me a follow on the gram. Glad to see he’s putting in work and collecting those royalties 💰💙
I’ve been thinking for the shape and size of the room there must be some wild comb filtering and room nodes with those big ass monitors, I can’t imagine. Unless the room is really well treated which I suspect? Hmm dunno! Setups classic still! Spend the most amount on the things that matter and you’d only have to buy them once. Entertaining video too my friend. Thanks
I'm thinking the same thing. Don't see any treatment on the walls. Some of the vocals recorded with a $10k Sony mic in this room sounded really bad even after mixing & mastering
When you talk about the vocal chain and say straight into ProTools. I can’t find a video where you mentioned how the interface is used and what type of interface. Is it an Apollo? Do they go in at line level? Do they gain the line or bypass it, and just use the gain from the preamp and compressor? I would like to know also the interface exact settings.
Most pro level interfaces are basically just converters with little to no gain functions. So yes all signal is brought to line level via external pre amp/ compression.
Thats so dope Khaled mixed up so damn tuff by the tuff crew Philly classic!!!! Philly stared street hop! Word to Schooly D!! Cali got it from us! #Facts

ok cool, so to get that exact vocal chain i just have to spend around $16,000, and thats just for the mic, pre amp and compressor. 3 pieces of equipment.
@@IrvingSauvage its crazy cause travis scott had that same exact vocal chain, same hardware and everything, in an untreated apartment (arguably more untreated than khaleds room) and those franchise vocals are perfect.
that room size/shape and lack of treatment with those speakers and the "extra" genelics on the back look like it would be terrible and you know they turn it up. It is weirdly small uncomfortable looking studio, but i guess whatever works. Id def do it differently.
